Amazing video! The rigging intimidates me more than the photo etching.... especially the square box rigging between the masts. However, your meticulous detail on every part of this build is so inspiring and raises the bar for all of us. Simply Awesome!
I got some BALSA wood for the deck but per your ship; I cant put together the method you used for the decks different colors. This is my first 1/200 scale so trying to watch all i can to learn. any tips would be appreciated.
Um...... 🤔🤔 Thanks for the shout out buddy!! I think!!! LOL!!! I am glad you could clean up the photo of the rigging! I have been using those photos to identify the names of parts of the ship!! The rigging looks awesome!! Great job!
Wow, it's looking excellent my friend. First time for your rigging , unbelievable ! I really do keep thinking I'll get a ship !! I quite fancy either the tamiya Bismarck or terpitz I think !! I've never built one before but I keep loving watching people's ship videos. I think famous as I love their armour and wingy things so much us the way to go for my first ! Deffinatley 1/350 to for my first one !! Hope you and your family are well
I had seen comments in one of your videos about how you positioned the plane on the catapult. In transport, it would have been very close to how you mounted it with the crane directly forward. Probably over the turntable. The other launcher would have been center "parked" also when carrying two planes. If three planes, it's normal load out, the turret launcher would have had them facing each other. I saw a pic with a third launcher in Manhatten, NY. Located port and forward of the aft launcher with the plane facing aft. They were always launched prior to firing as the blast would have destroyed them. Thus, your research and guessing is correct. The crane would have been swung aft during launching. For firing it would most likely would be somewhat forward and the lifting end lowered to and secured on the deck. I have seen that on some ships in pics.
