A little detail I like about Marg becoming more interested in Joker is at 0:25 where she looks the other way when its said she falls for someone more considerate. I feel like that implies her shifting her interest from Sergi to Joker. or I could just be reading into it too hard
This is absolutely amazing, and by far my favorite backstory as of yet. In story telling situations the music is extremely important, and the writers really hit the tone this time with the piano.

So stealing Sergei's face is pretty much Weeping Clown's way of 'an eye for an eye'. And as for the circus fire, was Sergei going to get caught for the crime and, while drunk, decided to start the fire to cover up ('The truth was spilled in a fit of drunkenness...')? Or did the Weeping Clown set the fire solely to trap Sergei and cut his face off?
Everyone is saying Weeping Clown started the fire but I remember previously that everyone thought it was Sergi. This whole time I thought it was him as well because he was trying to stop Weeping from trying to shed light on the truth. I also heard that Weeping is mentally ill and so that plays a strong part in why he did what he did. Either way, would love to hear other theories for the whole story.

As i remember correctly, sergi is the happy clown , while joker is the sad clown, sergi and Margaretha was in toxic relationship, sergi abused her offstage ,joker have a feeling towards marg, he brought her(Margaretha) to his tent to protect her from sergi Sergi found out and mixed joker's makeup with acid, then i don't remember what happened after that, i think what Joker means by "Sergi face" is his smiling face sine he is supposed to be the sad clown And also,Margaretha broke up with Sergi(i think) Margaretha entered the manor to get some protection from the ripper(because he was hunting her), unfortunately ,she doesn't know that ripper is also inside the manor Correct me if I'm wrong-

Yk I find it quite interesting how when Weeping becomes Smiley…he takes the physical appearance of Sergi. A very strong body, very loud and funny, and a huge smile on his face… To be quite honest I have a feeling they had some drama before Natalie showed up, or he took Sergi’s appearance in a little wacky way of trying to impress her.
It was more so as revenge against Sergei. The thing is, Margie knows he is impersonating her. In his second birthday letter, it shows as much. "Sergei" starts dancing to Joker's favorite song, people get suspicious but then Margie who is described as a thin girl at the end of the room says "You still got it Sergei!". It seems to be more of a disguise than anything that they are both in on because they both caused the fire of Hullabaloo. It was also implied Margie knew because of her second letter and the fact that she still refers to him in a rather caring way so I think she and him planned around it or something.
I’m in love!! The art is so beautiful. The music, too! And Joker’s VA sends chills. I absolutely can’t wait for Joker to come! (And hopefully even more interaction between Joker/Smiley and Marge!)
Why it was stupid to you? Personally, I find it exciting that NetEase is expanding the lore by introducing alternate versions of the characters that are already in the game, instead of realeasing new characters all the time

So they'll probably be doing Female Dancer's background story too? I mean it's another time of reunion event, so probably it's gonna have a animated cutscenes arc like Orpheus and Little Girl

She probably had a match with who she knew as the "weeping clown" as the hunter. She probably thought she could convince him to be essentially a friendly hunter. She probably said something like "hey it's me Margie, remember me?" And because of drugs effecting "smiley face" he saw her as a survivor and nothing more and attacked her. This would make Margie remember all of the trauma with Sergi and run off. Keep in mind we rely on the journals Orpheus finds to tell us pretty much everything including how everyone looks. So margie, had two images in her head (Sergi and weeping) and they combined together to make the hunter known as "smiley face" and she documented it in her journal for future note
i'd like to offer a different perspective - though i still pretty much agree that marg's trauma is why "smiley face" is buff despite Weeping being lanky - because this theory feels like it relies too much on game logic. But when we look at the videos of Orpheus/Melly/Norton/Little Girl, it wasn't exactly tied to the game at all with all the adults fistfighting each other - and Norton even bringing out an axe. so instead of Weeping being the one too messed up on drugs to recognize Margie, I feel like it's actually Margie that was too messed up on drugs to recognize Weeping - ESPECIALLY since he sewn Sergei's face on himself. It DOES look like she recognized him before their match though since she asked for his help to protect her from Mike in her 2nd birthday letter. But I feel like it was something like this: Mike thinks that Margie was the one responsible for the circus fire and wants revenge. Margie is scared of Mike because he is not being subtle at all about his bloodlust and asks for Weeping to help her. Thus, Weeping wanted to get rid of Mike to protect Margie. The match starts, Mike finds Margie first and get into a scuffle before Weeping comes rushing in to protect Margie. Now at this point, people are already getting confused with the drugs messing up their heads and the hectic situation going on. Due to Margie already in extreme fight-or-flight mode, the moment Weeping came rushing in was where Margie mistook him as "Sergei" now that she doesn't have a clear head. Margie probably was able to escape from the confusion to hide while Weeping and Mike are duking it out and that's when she writes in her notebook about Smiley Face. Now /hopefully/, Weeping didn't take too much offense to Margie running off when he caused the circus fire...

So, the story here was that Joker was in love with Natalie, but she was already the wife of Sergi, the popular smiling clown. However, Sergi was a drinker and would often take his frustration out on Natalie. One night, Natalie sought refuge from her husband's spirit-induced rage in Joker's tent. Sergi saw this and later, in a fit of jealousy, place acid in Joker's stage makeup. But little did Sergi or anyone else knew, that the acid did more than marred Joker's naturally frowning face, it caused him to go into a fit of madness, in which he murdered Sergi, removed his face and set fire to the Hullabaloo. But then the insanity wore off and the guilt seeped in, it caused Joker to form two seperate personalities: The smiling clown of his madness and the weeping clown of his guilt.
We know Leo didn't write a journal entry which was against the rules thus turning him into the hunter as a penalty but what other rules were there for the players to follow? What rule did Weeping broke that turned him into the Joker we know?
Basically, if Sergei did not messed with Joker face, Joker would had entered the manor as a survivor, and somehow probally instead of his Indentity switch being a survivor, his other identity would be the hunter

i hope you dont mind me replying to this a month later lol. so sorry if you already know the answers if im not mistaken it’s likely murro’s probably already escaped the circus by this point (he faked his death and disappeared with mike’s help). either way, murro was the ringleader’s nephew who was kept in a cage and raised as a “wild child” as an attraction, thus he was isolated from the rest and couldn’t really have a part in the whole joker/female dancer drama

But little did Sergi or anyone else knew, that the acid did more than marred Joker's naturally frowning face, it caused him to go into a fit of madness, in which he murdered Sergi, removed his face and set fire to the Hullabaloo. But then the insanity wore off and the guilt seeped in, it caused Joker to form two seperate personalities: The smiling clown of his madness and the weeping clown of his guilt.
We know Leo didn't write a journal entry which was against the rules thus turning him into the hunter as a penalty but what other rules were there for the players to follow? What rule did Weeping broke that turned him into the Joker we know?

Так и должно быть. В том и смысл, что это люди какие предватились в чудовищ. Откуда же им надо было взяться. Просто они из разного времени, выживший - до того как стал убийцей, а охотник - уже после. Возможно, что большинству персонажей сделают такие же копии охотников или выживших... я буду ждать пока выйдут последние персонажи какие не превратятся в убийц, а будут как-то бороться со всем происходящим...

i hope you dont mind me replying to this a month later lol. so sorry if you already know the answers
if im not mistaken it’s likely murro’s probably already escaped the circus by this point (he faked his death and disappeared with mike’s help). either way, murro was the ringleader’s nephew who was kept in a cage and raised as a “wild child” as an attraction, thus he was isolated from the rest and couldn’t really have a part in the whole joker/female dancer drama
