I have my grandfathers old pocket watch I would like to have restored. I'm not even sure how to message you directly, but if this is possible, please let me know.
You can make the hair line cracks on the dial disappear with some Comet Ultra Bathroom cleaner and some water. Let it sit in a cup for a while or place it on your refrigerator. The low vibrations will losen up the grime in the cracks and you can wash the dirt away
Great technique for blueing! Love the prep for that homogeneous blueing and super fast oil dip! And the fourth wheel pivot alignment with that amazing tool! Great piece. Thanks for making this video, really enjoyed it. Cheers!
I read about these metods to restore a watch, but i don t seen until now. Is amazing, i have no words... In my country, i think that no one do this kind of things anymore. Not even the watchmen who work on clock importer maintenance, i mean those who must services new buy watches.
Every single time I watch a video of yours I am amazed. It’s like watch Michelangelo paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. I’m truly blown away by your expertise.
Great job. Ever try putting those porcelain dials in the ultrasound machine for a 30 seconds? It will bounce the dirt right out of the hairline cracks and you won't see them. Give it a shot on a test pocket watch dial and see what I mean.
What a pleasure. Funky editing ("pock pock pock pock"). And what a relief to have no commentary - there's so much yackity-yack on you TH-cam. Thank you.
This is the G O A T youtube video…Absolutely the best, an iconic watch, peerless repair encompassing Machining, Hard Soldering, micrometer precision…and a restoration ALL AT ONCE…Thank You for your sharing this, and have a blessed day
It’s amazing all the steps involved and the variety of tools and knowledge you use. As always very high production values in the video. Thanks for this. I had the same question about jewels as mihai but will check the link you provided.
I love watching this channel. The science he brings makes it so cool to watch! Plus his restoration of what he’s working on comes out fantastic. He’s not your normal watch service channel. Also his tools he uses are so cool to watch and see how they perform to fix the broken or bent parts that are completely non existent to purchase. True craftsman here.
Craftsmanship and artistry combined with amazing cinematography.......! There is no match for this channel on TH-cam. Thank you for your dedication to incredible entertainment..
Bị nghiện bài này từ thời Bảo Thy, ko ngờ lại có ngày được nghe idol mới trong lòng mình Đức Phúc cover lại. Cảm ơn em ĐP vì đã cover lại lắng đọng cảm xúc như vậy
Your videos are ASMR. The thought and attention to detail you provide is unparalleled. Perhaps the only channel I do not skip forward a few seconds throughout montages and panning sequences. Thank you for providing genuine entertainment amongst a platform of shock culture influencers.
I have just watched Pulp Fiction for the very first time today , Christopher Walkens watch speech is a classic , as is the watch and your restoration.. what a great day 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🤓🙏🏻
Smooth operation and soothing to watch. And also when you go for cleaning the parts I always think they’re huge containers . Then your hands come into frame and brings the perspective back! Meanwhile people in 1910s: I’m radioactive, radioactive!!
I couldnt' do this hobby, I don't have the personality for it-which makes these videos for me all the more amazing and enjoyable to watch. I consider what you're doing to be more of a "highwire stunt" than a skill, it's a form of mastery of something SUUUUPER hard. Anyway. Well done!
Come sempre un restauro fantastico, ridai vitalità agli orologi ormai stra vissuti in modo veramente strepitoso non rovinando per niente l'originalità dello stesso complimenti seguirti e un vero piacere.Speriamo presto in un tuo nuovo progetto
After you explained where the watch had been, I understand the little black finger gloves you wear. All seriousness aside, another great video. You do fantastic work.
That was the best restoration I have seen in my life. Just unbelievable skills from RDR, fantastic video and I want to watch it again to get all the details.
Oh, and sick skills and eyesight. Help or not, from someone that could paint a fraction of a millimeter down the face of a40k orc for tribal markings, impressive.
I can't tell you how pleased I am that you're outro music is by Josh and then gang at JHS Pedals. It's like my pedal, photography, and watchmaking obsessions have all converged. All roads lead to Josh Scott, apparently haha.

Impressive, as always. I'm currently looking for a professional in France to restore an old LIP wristwatch from the 50's and it is not easy to come by someone with the skills and mostly the patience to proceed like you are so beautifuly doing. Even LIP themselves don't want to work on it 😂😂 You, sir, have an amazing skillset ! You keep History alive by allowing these beauties to tick again. Keep on !
Truly extraordinary Restoration. Amazing toolsets, knowledge, experience, skills, passion, courage and very steady capable hands to go all the way to make the Watch as good as Gold!. Mighty interesting to watch. Thank you for sharing your restoration Video. Salute to you.
Fascinating, I have a 1923 model with all black numeral dial, it needed a stem and crown but is in way better condition than this, mine is a Rotheram & Sons model with a Swiss movement and solid silver case. I only hope it looks as good as this one when my watchmaker is done!

How to reduce more radiation from the watch?
For the finale you should have demoed how to hide the watch.

Very impressive, especially considering where that watch has been!
No exposure to air, so it would be well preserved 🤣
JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJ
@@KingTrump2024 no air but lots of gas.
Consider it is radioactive too.. poor bastards 🤣🤣
LOL
I don’t know what’s more impressive, the watch or the fact somebody still owns a DVD player in 2022
😅 to be fair... It's a blu ray player 😁
Send my regards to Butch, he is sure to appreciate all the work you did to restore his late father's watch.
My jaw almost dropped when you started playing the JHS Pedals song. Absolute perfection.
I'm a Medical Doctor... I wish I knew how to fix my patients the way this guy fixes watches.
That’s the scariest things I’ve read today.
The dome on that crystal is epic.
You have the hands of a surgeon, and the mind of a mechanic. Very well done.
Great technique for blueing! Love the prep for that homogeneous blueing and super fast oil dip! And the fourth wheel pivot alignment with that amazing tool! Great piece. Thanks for making this video, really enjoyed it. Cheers!
Thanks 😊
I wish I had a coil spring install tool for small engine recoil string starters. I love watching classy vods like this
That's a splendid watch. Seeing you bring it back to such a fine state of health is very satisfying.

First time I watched this I didn’t catch the “uncomfortable hunk of metal” line
This time I did!!!! Genius!
As a Army Vet this is absolutely breathtaking especially at the end the heart beat !! Awesome video! 👍🏼
When it comes to restoring watches you Sir are the master hands down.

I think I have the same watch ...or a very similar one... So thanks for the information about the model...and that restoration was astonishing!
To me as a watch enthusiast but a complete layman with regard to watchmaking this seems like pure magic. Respect!

Incredible job. From a damaged and bad piece of work. To a beautiful example of the watchmakers art.
Great. Always the most exciting moment is when the balancing wheel is installed and the watch starts running. Special thanks for the socks.

Maybe the biggest and best comeback watch yet. I'd have never imagined you could bring it back that far. Excellent video!

Thank you very much!
This is the watch that got me interested in watches. Loved the movie, really loved the watch, and this video is was just absolutely perfect.
This is one of the coolest watches you’ve done so far!

I really love watching old broken things get put back together. I subscribe to a few channels but I have to say your your work is on another level.
Great film, great scene, gorgeous restoration 👍
Hope this one doesn't need to be hidden in that place 😎
OK, the part where you re-blued the hands was super cool!
