Thanks for video ,really appreciate your time and efforts to give us the information, realy good. And no more pull start, fuelling ,mixing etc.Big help for me to decide which way to go and where the future is.I know its lot of work but great to see them working in real time and in the field. Thanks againJim.
Thanks for the vid. Currently have bg 86c, thinking to swap out with bga 86 for convenience of battery. Do you think I would notice much of a difference between the two?
@@justinpenn1148 👍 just know it eats batteries so it will be investment. I can do about 7 or 8 yards on the AP300s small yards. My Trimmer 135R gets about 12 yards for comparison.
Very informative video. I just purchased a Stihl battery Kombi, the 135R with the string trimmer and edger attachments. I want a battery blower as well. Right now i'm using a Toro with a 100 ft cord. LOL, not good! I'm undecided if I should go with the BGA 86 or go with one of the EGO blowers as I think I will be getting a EGO mower. Hmmmm, decisions, decisions. So batteries would not be a issue I was looking into Stihl lawn mower also but leaning towards EGO for that from what i've been viewing and reading.
Hey Mike, I always inform to stay with one platform as you can share batteries within that platform. Going with different manufacturers/ platforms will cost more as you will need batteries and charges. So you have stihl you won’t need to purchase a charger and battery giving you some savings as you already have this in place. Just buy the tool only.
I'm into both the Stihl AK and AP lines, so when I wanted to try a battery mower I went with the Stihl 510. Long story short, I did not like it. I have a heavily treed yard, and there's always some sort of debris on it; leaves, small twigs, pods, etc. I bag, and my gas mower would vacuum most of this stuff up; the Stihl would roll right over it and leave most of it undisturbed. I made sure I was running the mower with the ECO switch OFF, so I was getting max blade speed. I believe that a high-lift blade would solve this problem, however Stihl doesn't offer one. EGO offers a variety of blades, including high-lift, and according to most reviews, has pretty good suction if you bag. If you're a mulcher, or you don't have a lot of trees, the Stihl wouldn't be a bad choice, I suppose. It's quite apparent that EGO is constantly innovating their mowers; Stihl hasn't touched theirs since their initial release several years ago. For me, I'm back to using my gas mower, until either Stihl improves theirs, or Honda releases their battery mowers in the U.S.
@@jmljml5065 Thanks for that feedback. I like Still products and like preciously stated I bought into their battery line, KMA 135 R with string and edger attachments and one AP300 battery w/AL300 charger. Regardless of whether or not I decide to get their mower (which in all likelihood I won't) I need one more battery to swap out. I don't have the same debris situation as you do but it seems the Stihl mowers leave a lot to be desired for what they charge for them in more ways than one. Plus the fact you can't find any around around even if I wanted to buy one. So with that I am currently looking at EGO, Toro and Greenworks. I want a mower and leaf blower of the same brand. Having two different brands doesn't bother me in the least, I'll have 2 batteries for each platform and for my smallish property it will be just fine. I didn't know Honda had a battery mower out, I have and currently use a Honda gas mower, Too much for what I need now. I will sell it as soon as I decide/get a battery powered mower. Happy Sunday!
I have not tester Stihl's mower so have no input, over the last few years there were very little changes so not sure if they have gave it the same quality, power as their other equipment. With Stihl's name I hope they just didn't quickly throw something together just to say they have a mower?
@@CityScapesLawnCare Good point, Stihl certainly has the name when it comes to lawn care equipment, pricey but you get what you pay for. Plus the fact that most (and I say most not all) dealers are well versed in the line, not like walking into a big box store and the info is very spotty. I have only viewed TH-cam videos on Stihl mowers both side by side comparisons and reviews. Others such as EGO shine in comparison so for my money i'll look at something other than Stihl for a mower. I haven't made a decision yet but probably will this week. Thanks.
@@mattseymour8637 pretty close yes. $269 tool only. Are you commercial or home owner? If your commercial definitely get the AP300s @$279 is you home owner the ap300 s179 will do

@@CityScapesLawnCare great thank you. Sounds like would be good replacement for bg86c, and if commercial something to start investing for batteries
Good vid 💯✂️
Thank you

Are you still using the BGA 86 professionally?
Yes I am. Average 9-10 homes on 1 battery
Has it got a variable speed trigger?
Yes 👍
@@CityScapesLawnCare Thanks what run time does it have?
@@mattseymour8637 right around 28 full trigger using the AP300s. I get around 9-10 small yards done before I run out.
