Totally agree. A lot started to happen after Chapter 3 and loose ends started appearing. The pacing seemed off. But I guess it's proof its a gripping game if it makes you reflect on all these points and chase answers!
I think the game lost a bit of momentum after Max finds Safi's camera + photo. My jaw hit the floor. Don't think it managed to recreate that suspense afterward.
I get that. Reflecting on the pacing, there's weird choices in how Max behaves. I tried to be consistent but sometimes the options were whack. I hope a DLC addresses some of the pacing, too. Was it that Chloe was missing in-game that missed the mark for you?
Hey Bazzy. Enjoyed your breakdown of the game. I think the ideas in this game are good, and it has a lot of potential, but, true to Deck Nine's history, a lot of it is poorly executed or drawn too much from better sources (LiS 1). I suspect this one will be very divisive due to its ending, as what I saw at the end reminded me of a Professor X/Magneto scenario LOL. Nonetheless, I'm a HUGE Max fan, so I had a great time playing this one. It's great having her back and Hannah Telle did really well.
I totally agree! Theres a very strong Magneto/Xavier vibe going on. And that's something I'm really looking forward to if/when the sequels drop. I was so hooked after Chapter 3...But I think maybe too much started happening. Felt like the pacing jumped a few gears. And I genuinely thought I had missed huge chunks of the game 🤣 (maybe I still did!) And agreed, LOVE Max and Hannah's work. Hope she gets the flowers she deserves from this!
@@bazzyplays55 Absolutely. The pacing is all off for sure, especially after the third chapter. Story coherence just goes out the window, and the problems get worse because you never really know which version of the character you are talking to, so I found it hard to really see character development. I just choose not to romance anyone since those are so half-baked, but I still recommend it if you like Max like I do.
Chloe really should have played a role in this game somehow. In the Sacrifice Arcadia Bay path, Chloe could have easily lived with Max as her roommate. We could have gotten a scene between them, similar to Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher at the beginning of Uncharted 4. Where Max and Chloe have supper on their sofa, discuss Max's job at Caledon, play a game on their Playbox, joke around, and share a kiss. You get the idea. Even if the game still had problems afterward, Deck Nine really should have seized the opportunity for a scene like this when they had the chance. Maybe in the Sacrifice Chloe path, Warren could be in Chloe's shoes.
I think if they included Chloe in one path, 99.99% of players would opt for it by default. So the other pathway would need something absolutely monumental to compete. I agree, there could have been more overarching content. Maybe the next edition will pit Chloe and Safi vs each other for some players?
I friendzone Amanda I see her just friend nothing more So she didn’t upset when I romance vinh I shipped him with max a lot In my game I hope when max returns chloe the best character I would see her again but vinh x max is my new couple now 🌟
Did Amanda say anything at all after you romanced Vinh? Really curious to know! I thought it was almost a given people would go for the date early on 😅

i really liked this game, besides episode 5, i think the game needed much more time to properly expand on the ideas it presents

Just finished the game, from episode 1to3 this game was such a banger and then boom, i am asking wtf happened...

Love the game just have problems with the writing how some of max herself is handled and the Chloe parts are the biggest problems for me
