I saw it when it first came out in 1985 and had to wait a few years before They shown there would sequels to part one and then wait for them to come out.
Robert Zemeckis knew they would never get the future right, so they just decided to have fun and make it as ridiculous as possible. And ironically, their predictions and depictions of 2015 are not that far off.
It's wild to me how many people think they were trying to predict the future, rather than simply making a fun future.
I am still upset that some hack used "hoverboard" to name their crappy 2 wheel motorized toy.
@@SchulzEricTmaking a fun future is still a prediction. Just not a prediction with serious intention.
That's probably why they got so many things right or at least very close.
And that includes the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series, they were off by just one year
Also an easter egg of Zemeckis' other movie Roger Rabbit in the future sports book store window as well as Roger's voice actor Charles Fleischer as future "money on the cubbies" old man and 50's Biff's tow truck driver
Yes, they recast Jennifer. The original actress - Claudia Wells - stepped away from acting to take care of her mother while she fought cancer.
And yes, Christopher Lloyd was actually wearing a thin layer of prosthetic make-up in the first movie to make Doc look a little older during the 1985 scenes. So to avoid making him wear the make-up throughout Part 2 and 3, they had Doc undergo plastic surgery in the future so he could peel the prosthetics off at the start of this movie, giving him an in-universe reason for looking younger.
Yeah, Lloyd was only about 47 in the first movie, and Doc is (according to the novelization) supposed to be in his 60s during the 1980s.
Doc's age simply doesn't jive and the moment he took that prosthetic makeup off got a big laugh in the theater because he looked nearly the same and we thought it was a joke lol Seems like a simple solution from the start to give him brown hair in 1955 but I guess he isn't Doc Brown without white hair
@@BrianMoore-h6iOne of my best friends in high-school had salt and pepper gray hair at 16. Some people just have the DNA.
Crispin Glover also didn't return as George. Jeffrey Weissman replaced him and they used a prosthetic face piece
@@NovaVelle808 A prosthetic face piece based on the mold they made of Glover's face for his prosthetics in the first movie. This would be one of his complaints when he sued for the use of his likeness without his permission.
One tiny detail I always find really cool about this movie is when Marty, Jr. straightens out the TV. Today, we have lightweight flat screens and would think nothing of that, but when this was filmed, they needed to use rear projection to produce the flat screen effect, which means a projector mounted behind the screen, and the whole thing needed to appear to weigh much less than it actually did for Michael J. Fox to adjust it like he did. All for a blink-and-you'd-miss it moment.
Whoa.
My favorite aspect of BTTF2 is how they use the negative space of the first movie to tell a story that doesn't impact it, which would create their own paradox. George lays out Biff, and Marty Prime swoops in to grab the almanac. The Goons are waiting for Marty Alpha to get off stage, Marty Prime knocks them out, and Marty Alpha just walks right over the top of them. The two arcs come VERY close to touching but never do. It's great.
Doc may have saved his past self some time by handing him the correct wrench, but that’s probably too insignificant of a change.
@@0okamino I tend to forget about that line. It’s been a while since I watched the movies in their entirety (I have the trilogy on BluRay, but I don’t have a BluRay player anymore), and most of the watch-alongs tend to cut that scene out.
I did always wonder about that interaction, though. You’d think that that would have been direct proof that such an interaction wouldn’t cause his oft spouted destruction of the space/time continuum.
I love that every reactor who sees Doc removing the skin always said “You look the same” 3:32 but the reason why they had to do this is so that Christopher Lloyd doesn’t have to do the two movies with the older prosthetics for the majority of production
All reactors seem to say Doc looks the same when he takes his disguise off but that is because they have seen the 1955 version the most in the first movie.
@@jimhoyt5 Well apparently when it comes to the watching part 2 in theaters, it was very noticeable 😅
@lubbockbabesfan81 never thought of it that way either
If you’re wondering what happened to 2015 Biff. It was a two part deleted scene. They cut them out because they thought they were too confusing. After Old Biff returned to 2015 you saw him hurt. He crawled behind the DeLorean passed out, died and faded out of existence. Flash forward to the last scene in the alternate 1985. You see Biff wake up after being knocked out. He wakes up and see Marty’s mother standing over him with his gun. She had followed them up to the roof and heard his confession to kill George. She shoots him. So when old Biff returns to 2015, his body was subjected to the new timeline.
Fun fact: One of the kids in the 2015 dinner was Elijah Wood.
I don’t see how OLD BIFF could return to that original 2015 since it’s an alternate timeline ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN RULES IN THE MOVIE
I've wondered what was going on with Biff for like 30 years. FINALLY I have the answer!
@@mem1701movies In theory, if you travel through time. You’re traveling outside of time. Old Biff wouldn’t have died in 1955, because 1985 Biff hadn’t been shot yet. Since 1955 Biff had yet to decided whether or not he would make his first bet, cementing the new timeline. As he was traveling back to 2015. He would have been outside of time and would not been effected by the new timeline, until he returned to the timeline and allowing time to catch up to him.
@@mem1701movies "The Ripple Effect"
While Biff did change things in 1955, there was still time for him to change things back IF he had re-used the Time Machine. When Doc and Marty departed 2015, his chance to fix things had passed, and he faded out. Same exact rule that was applied to Marty in the first film, or else he would've faded out immediately after getting knocked to the ground by his granddad (Lorraine's father).
@lubbockbabesfan81 It was on a Back to the Future behind the scene special, on TV years ago.
Fun fact:
In October 2015, to celebrate that it was the Back to the Future 2 day, they passed all the movies back-to-back in a lot of places.
It's hard to believe that this was over 8 years ago...
And remember, everyone, future predictions in movies are always accurate (wink) (wink).
I got to my theater near the end of part 1. I almost got Christopher Lloyd to sign my Blu-ray on 10/21/15 but he went into Rockefeller Center before I could get him to sign. The interview with him MJF and Lea Thompson that then aired was actually taped the day before and wasn't actually live. But it was still cool to see him pull up in a DeLorean on that date.
my birthday is on october 21st, I spent that whole day watching the movies in theaters, it was great
@@sam.onthemoon
Must have been quite the gift.
Ironically, if you want some truly scary "wow that prediction hits a little too close to home" watch Demolition Man.
@@Gumblethebear The other one is Idiocracy lol.
Speaking of layers, in this film's 1955 Hill Valley, there are four Deloreans. The one from the first film, the one Old Biff stole, the one Doc and Marty traveled back from the dark 1985 timeline and (slight spoilers) one that has been stowed away since 1885.
I always loved that detail. The only ones we directly see are the ones driven by Doc and Marty obviously, not the one Biff stole. But it's wild to think they're all versions of the same exact car just hours apart
1. It's not often sequels hold up to the original, but this does. Thank you 1980s.
2.This one is the best of the bunch. The next one is inventive but I'm not really into the story. That said, it is the perfect wrap.
3. The stunt woman that flew into the glass window partially missed and injured her arm.
4. Michael J. Fox also played Marty's daughter.
5. Sammy Hagar, "I can't drive 55"😎
6. Good thing Biff shoots like a Star Wars Stormtrooper🤣
7. The tunnel at the end is the same one they used for Tune Town in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit
jsyk, it's Toon Town, cos they're car'toons'. there's certainly some merrie melodies going on in there though. Smile darn ya smile.
With regards to your query at the beginning about Griff's speech, I've always equated docs line of: "Be careful around that Griff character. He has a few short circuits... in his bionic implants!" as to why he talks the way he does
In 1960 resuscitation pioneers Drs. Kouwenhoven, Safar, and Jude combine mouth-to-mouth breathing with chest compressions to create cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the lifesaving actions we now call CPR.
Punching a guy in the face, and taking something from his pocket (a wallet perhaps), however, had been pioneered long before that.
@@0okamino I think he took his wallet.
This trilogy is pure perfection.
About time for a remake tho, right?
@@jaystarr6571may god punish you in a painful way
@@jaystarr6571
Hell no! This trilogy needs no remake, no sequels, no prequels, no spin offs etc etc! Any of that will just turn it into another generic movie. The trilogy is timeless.
oscars for supporting actor were invented for performances like Tom Wilson as Tannen family members in all of these movies. the only reason he doesn't constantly get credit for his acting in these is that we take it for granted. praising him is like praising the Beatles for making good music. he's incredible, completely incredible in these movies.
This trilogy is 10/10
On Wednesday, October 21,2015, I was (ironically) late to work. When I got to the parking lot, I got out of my car and realized I had parked next to a 1 to 1 replica of THE DeLorean time machine. I used to work at Northrop Grumman in El Segundo. At the facility there's a model making shop and the guy who owned the DeLorean replica was also a prop maker for Hollywood productions.
I think one of the odder things about this movie is they were only one year off about the Cubs winning the World Series. The circumstances were also a bit different and Miami's actual team was the Marlins and not the Gators or Crocodiles or whatever they were called (though in a way they also predicted Miami having a baseball team in the future and were right about that).
I can certainly see why the Cubs would have won, since they’re MLB, and the Gators are a college team (though the real Gators are based in Gainesville, not Miami).
You're 100% correct.
They showed the teaser for BtF3 in the theatre at the end of BtF2.
I was a little child, then.
And that was the day I learned the concept of *HYPE.* 😱
I celebrated the real October 21st, 2015 by rewatching this film.
Boy, is it a blast! This film is a wild ride that took all the rules in the first film and stretched them to the limits! Zemeckis and Gale took their new license for creativity granted by the first film's success and let it run free! It may not have been a precise vision of the future, but it was a great entertainment that has endured so as to be commemorated by many of us on the day Marty and Doc arrived back to the future!
I watched the trilogy for BTTF day 😁
"Biff" was a popular nickname in the early to mid-20th century. The son of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman was named "Biff." Also there was Biff Henderson, stage manager and straight man on David Letterman's various talk shows.
Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale (the director and writers) have talked about how, they knew going into the sequel (which they had never intended to make when they made Part I) that a lot of other shows and movies trying to depict the future always tend to be off the mark and quickly look incredibly dated. So they decided almost satirize their depiction with Back to the Future Part II; really playing up the humor of the classic expectations of "the future" - flying cars, entire meals that magically and re-hydratable food. Just taking trends to their most logical conclusion, then taking that conclusion to the extreme.Marty needs a $50 bill to buy a Pepsi, the clocktower guy asks Marty to "thumb a hundred bucks". Cars can fly, but there's still traffic.
We have a lot of catching up to do. We don’t even have Max Headroom versions of Ronald Reagan and Ruhollah Khomeini yet.
I love how despite the fact that they deliberately went with a wacky fun version of the future, they still managed to correctly predict the Cubs winning the world series and were only off by a year.
Love the way they tie things together in this series: Ronald Reagan in Cattle Queen of Montana (seen on a theater marquee) in 1955. Ronald Reagan, the President in 1985. Max Headroom-style Ronald Reagan (played by Reagan impersonator Jay Koch) taking orders in the Cafe 80s in 2015.
Jennifer being in the car and being handled kind of poorly can be explained by the way this trilogy came about… they never intended to make more than the original. As a result, they really didn’t think through the ramifications of taking her to the future, it was more of a joke at the end of the original to have a flying car and Mr. Fusion on the back. As a result, she kind of has a strange role in this movie.
Also, you have flappy Hedwig! I have the Fawkes set that also flaps.
The ending to this movie is one the best things I've ever seen in cinema. The fun level is through the roof. I really love that Western Union guy's performance.
I always hated this one when I was a kid, but as an adult it's the most thought provoking.
Why?
@@David-bf2cg I think when you're 10 or 11 years old, this movie is a little dark and maybe not as fun as the others.
But now I can see that it is a realization of everything doc warned us about the Time Machine - and what could happen if used in the wrong way.
The fact that they used the second movie to go back into the first movie was just so meta. Truly one of the best time travel series ever.
The 80s was a very optimistic time. With the progress in computer tech and everything else at the time. The thought of flying cars in 30 years was a very real thing that was thought possible.
I've read from some physicists, engineers and futurists that it legitimately could have been an achievable possibility.
The issue is that most people don't realize that we don't have a free and open market of ideas. Things like the patent system and legal issues with intellectual property rights really bottleneck advancements if not outright halt them. People think that businesses and the government are always pushing for advancement but it's not really true. They even established the Invention Secrecy Act of 1951 that locks down creations that could change the status quo too much.
Some examples are the independent inventors that have come up with alternative fuels for cars but get paid off to be silent because it would disrupt too many industries or how 3D printing was really picking up in the 1980's but had a 30 year restriction put on it.
There have been a lot of flying car prototypes over the years, but they've never caught on as they have been expensive and impractical. Maybe the current advances in artificial intelligence will help bring more useful and practical models closer to being a reality.
I think the bigger issue with flying cars is that it's just not something that should exist. Reglar cars are dangerous enough without the added bonus of being hundreds or thousands of meters in the air. There's a reason it's harder to get a pilot's license than it is a driver's license. Even if they're never as ubiquitous as grounded cars can you imagine if there were hundreds of several-ton motorcraft careening through the sky above New York? If someone fell asleep at the wheel or got distracted texting they could crash through a skyscraper or crash through your roof.
@@andyenglish4303 - Exactly.. most people are barely competent drivers.. (or somewhat incompetent, depending on your viewpoint). Nobody in their right mind would let them fly any kind of vehicle.
1:50 Elizabeth Shue replaced Claudia Wells, because Wells had to take care of her sick mother. I think that, given Jennifer's roll here, the director and producers could have worked around Wells's duties caring for her.
3:20 The Bobs totally regretted that ending, once it was established they were making a sequel.
11:30 Remember what Doc said. Old Biff needs to think that he succeeded so that he'll return the Delorean to the future.
11:40 Ah okay, that sounds like a plan. If only Doc thought of it earlier. Marty might not have succeeded otherwise.
12:10 On the other hand, that would have prevented George and Lorraine's happy ending of the first movie. (Best case: Marty fades from existence. Worst case: a universe-breaking paradox.)
The Bobs (I momentarily glitched "the Docs".) decided to have as much fun in the future as they could, as well as set up the rest of the movie, and having Michael J. Fox play Marty's daughter as well was part of the fun. If they had really planned for the sequel, I think of at least three differences:
A: Doc would have returned some time later without a sense of urgency -- he has all the time he wants -- and in the dark of night in some unpopulated area.
B: He wouldn't have brought Jennifer.
C: They would never have gone to the future.
Knocking Biff out wouldn't have solved anything. Marty goes back to 2015 to kick Biff out, now there's no time machine for the 1985 Doc and Marty. He leaves the time machine in 2015, then that Marty has no way to get back to 1985.
@@MaskMcGee I think that several ways exist to accomplish this. One way is that they overpower the two Biffs. Doc (or Marty) takes one of the two time machines back to 2015 with Biff tied up, while the other takes the other time machine back.
Once back in 2015, they leave one time machine for Doc, Marty, and Jennifer to return to 1985, and they return to 1985 in the other machine. They both return to 1985 -- whoops, what happens with two Martys and two Docs there?
These are my favorite movies ever. Not a single detail is wasted. Everything ties into each other across all movies, everything fits together so well and makes sense, the smallest details add so much more to the film, and it's just all so perfect.
When is the first time I seen these movies? Well.. I am one of the lucky ones that can say.. I seen them all in theaters.. each one during their official release back in the 80's/ and 1990 for the 3rd one.. I just LOVE this Trilogy!!
claudia wells was the original jennifer. 4 years later they eid film part 2 and 3 together (back to back) but claudia's mom was having cancer treatment or something like that so she was not availible so tha tis why they replaced her
How can the skyway be jammed? A lot of people miss that joke…
You're spot on about how audiences reacted to the teaser. I saw 2 in theaters when I was about stuff years old for my birthday. I remember everyone losing their SHIT at the footage of #3 which no one knew existed. The third movie came out SIX MONTHS LATER. Not even a year wait. November to May. Nothing like that had ever happened afaik. Then there was a Saturday morning cartoon after 3 came out.
If you haven't already, look of the comic mini series "Biff To The Future" which shows what Biff did after he was given the almanac by his future self & created the alternate 1985.
Yup, love this one also! We were so stoked when this came out. The anticipation of waiting for the films to be released just added to the excitement.
I just a few years ago remembered that Elisabeth Shue's character from Adventures in Babysitting also had the last name Parker, so now I always imagine Jennifer was replaced by her cousin Chris from Chicago. If you haven't watched Adventures in Babysitting yet, you need to. As for the real life reason the actress Claudia Wells was replaced, her mother got really sick and she decided to take a break from acting to take care of her. She's still a super sweet lady today, runs a men's clothing store in LA, and still attends conventions and stuff. As for Marty Jr. "watching a little TV for a change", I always assumed Marty Sr. was being sarcastic. As for the clever 2015 lingo like "trank", we do kind of do that in real life with things like "vape". Finally I love your hat, the material looks so thick and soft and chunky and cozy.
I just looked it up again and CPR was invented in 1956 one year after this movie took place
It wasn't actually called 'CPR' until 1960 though
This second movie has some special memories for me. I was in band during my time in high school and we played the Back to the Future theme song at a pep rally (I was 17 in the fall of 2015).
Yes she is another actress but you have to recognize that actress from karate kit or the boys
There’s only one man who can help me…is sooo epic!
Doc has a throwaway line about glitches in Griff's bionic implants - that's supposed to explain his manic-ness and vocal over-the-top-ness.
I saw part 2 in the theater, when I was a kid and we had no idea there was going to be a third movie until it ended and said, "To be concluded" and we got to see that teaser. That was huge for us because you didn't hear about upcoming movies anywhere near as much as you do today.
Also, if you didn't know, when Marty was playing the video game in the diner in the future, one of the little kids is actually a young Elijah Wood.
Thanks for doing the 2nd one so quickly! I hope you do the 3rd one soon too! Great reactions! I saw all 3 movies in the theatre at the time when they came out. I'm so glad I did, but it was soooo hard waiting for the next one to come out...twice!
Back to the future trilogy is one of the best there is!
Also, in 2015 we were all celebrating the date from the movie they go to. It was so cool. And yes their predictions of the future were over the top, but so cool
The writing in this with all the overlapping and the intertwining of story lines really make this movie an impressive piece. The whole trilogy is just fun. Ps. “Butthead” and “great Scott” are excellent verbiage to add to one’s lexicon!! 😂😂
Trivia: In the hoverboard chase scene when the punks fly through the window, a slight miscalculation during the setup caused one of the stunt performers to slam into the concrete pillar to the left of the window instead of going thru the window. This caused her to fall outside onto the solid ground instead of inside where all the padding was setup to catch them safely. As a result she suffered multiple injuries. They kept the accident in the movie and if you watch the scene back you can see her hitting the pillar, then the scene cuts to an interior camera showing the glass falling, but you can also see her hitting the concrete just outside the door.
Looking at 2016, it is believable that people would embrace someone like Biff. I loved this movie because of its inventiveness and visuals. The third is a great conclusion :)
Biff was quite literally based on trump.
@@Caderynwolf Yes. The writers sure were right.
To me this will always be the greatest film of all time. Just pure unapologetic time travel insanity feeding on Part 1 with a magical cliff hanger.
It's so cool seeing your reactions for the films. I was also flipping when I first saw the twists at the end.
I'm glad you're enjoying the journey of back to the Future with so many layers to the storylines it's freaking awesome it's quite a journey number three is even more interesting and got more layers to it❤
Doc told Marty to wait until old Biff gives young Biff the almanac so he returns the Delorean to 2015. If they interfere with those events it could undo the events that allow them to return to 1985 and 1955. [holds out hands] Time travel!
Over the years, I've heard a lot of people ask why couldn't Biff hear Marty in the back of the car. But, like, those 1950s engines were loud as farkle. There were some quite engines, but a clunker like Biff's was going to make a lot of noise. Especially in the pre-catalytic converter era. I could barely carry on a conversation in our 78 Caprice, especially as it got older, without losing my voice. Nobody could hear me from the backseat unless I raised my voice. And that's not even accounting for the fact he's in a convertible.
I can watch all three movies in a day! I cannot stop watching them, they are one of my favorites and I appreciate you by finally reacting to this movies!
That teaser you shouldn't have watched (lol) was the film maker's way of telling the audience that we didn't have to wait 4 years for a sequel; they were already working on it and it'd be out in just 6 months. Pretty cool, the day before 3 hit theaters, 2 hit home video.
I never understood why people had a problem with the teaser... There is ABSOLUTNELY NO DIFFERENCE IF THEY DO WATCH IT OR NOT. In fact it is much better if they watch it.
@@Karadjanovagree with you. It's how the original movie theater watchers saw it. Yeah, it's a bit spoilery and the srultudio just didn't see it as being that since they wanted to keep people hyped for the best movie which they made back to back and would release much sooner than people would have expected.
If you want a really great followup to this you should read the Back To the Future comic books, its a pretty great continuation of the story written by Bob Gale the writer of all 3 movies
In keeping with the “going back in time” theme, and because you love LOTR so much, at the beginning when Marty first arrives to 2015, one of the little boys he tries to show off to playing the shooting game at the arcade, is Elijah Wood, in his first ever movie role at 8 years old.
I was the same age when this came out
There were a lot of 2015 Easter eggs you might've missed:
-When Doc initially throws away the almanac, there's an ad next to it for "Surf Vietnam"
-The 2015 papers also reference a female president and "Queen Diana" (whoops!)
-As someone who saw Lord of the Rings, did you recognize one of those boys playing the video game?
-The "Emmett Brown Committed" paper also has a headline that reads "Nixon to seek fifth term: Vows to end Vietnam War by 1985", while the "Emmett Brown Commended" paper's headline read "Reagan to seek second term: No Republican challengers expected".
-Not only did they recast Jennifer, but now in that scene, he's clearly dodging Marty's questions about the future.
Yeah, in the eighties the end of the war was more or less 10 years ago so to think about it as a fun destination was wild, and they also made that prediction right as now Vietnam is a close ally of the States and a touristic destination
The flat panel wide-screen TV on the wall looks normal today, but didn't exist at the time. Same with video conferencing.
I was in San Diego on Oct 21, 2015 and there was a convoy of Deloreans (some decked out exactly like the Back to the Future) heading to a BTTF convention.
I love it when I see people love Doc Brown. He was alway my favorite character. I grew up watching this trilogy. Doc was always my favorite. His over the top reactions to dialog are just great and very fitting for his Mad Scientist vibes.
Glad you are doing the trilogy! It's a classic that will hold up for a long time to come.
yess !! i just watched your reaction to the first movie the other day and was thinking about when you were going to post the second movie reaction! im so excited to see what u think aaaaa
I was 10 in 2015 - I had already watched them all at that point, but on the day it took place in the future my dad sat me down and made me watch this movie again. I’ll never forget that, especially looking back on the significance!
Doc explained there was a problem with "implants" is why buffs grandson was talking funny.
No CPR in 1955, at least it wasn't called that.
Marty had to wait til old Bif left to take the almanac otherwise they never would have left 2015, as old Bif wouldn't have brought the DeLorean back.
Heck yeah, this is my favorite movie of the three! I love Back to the Future 2. So many great sci-fi ideas going on here. Flying cars, alternate timelines, doubled characters. Great stuff!
I remember seeing all of them in the theater it was awesome
The best back to the future movie in my opinion
Imagine seeing the ending teaser trailer in the theater, then having a year to think about it & anticipate the next film. Yup, it's definitely a new actress. Coincidentally, you might want to check out "Adventures in Babysitting", after wrapping this series up, of course.
There were SO MANY “where’s my flying car/hoverboard/holographic shark” jokes going around when October 2015 rolled around! 😂
The end of the first film was supposed to be just a quirky cliffhanger to something that was never gonna be made. So they had to work around the dialogue where Doc says "bring her too". However, two and three were shot back to back. The second movie even ends with the trailer for the third one.
Things that BTTF came true: Smartphones, drones, video calls, fax machine, electric cars, hoverboard, but without hover, online transactions
this is the right response to have, to enjoy it yourself. If you do you'll have people show their support to you because we want to see others enjoy things we already know about
This movie released in theatres on November 22, 1989. Back to the Future 3 came out on May 25, 1990 just 6 months later.
And you didn't show it on TH-cam but when old Jennifer meets young Jennifer she says "I'm young" while younger Jennifer says "I'm old" just as they both pass out.
If they'd dragged old Biff back to 2015 and taken back the almanac, there'd still be a problem. They don't know where old Biff hid the time machine in 1955 and Biff has to return that version of the time machine back to 2015 or else you get a nasty paradox.
Oh 1989’s version of 2015… a simpler and fun version of the future
5:06 [pause] I must have watched these movies a hundred times, and I'm just noticing that the ledge under the clock that broke away when Doc stepped on it in 1955 is still broken. The attention to detail will never cease to blow my mind! 🤯
The new actress is Elizabeth Shue. She became famous after The Karate Kid, so they cast her in Back to the Future II.
Elisabeth Shue took over as Jennifer because the original actor stayed home to care for her mom dying of cancer. Shue is also known for The Karate Kid with Ralph Macchio (1984), Cocktail (1988) with Tom Cruise, Adventures in Babysitting (1987), Cobra Kai, and The Boys.
Crispin Glover (George McFly) sued the producers over this film. They used a mold of his face from the first film to make a George McFly mask and didn't pay Glover for use of his image.
"There's no way this old geezer convinced the country to idolize him."
I've got some bad news from 2015.
Yeah Biden sucked
I saw glimpses of all three movies through VHS's at our home, then I watched all of them in maybe one day in order. The glimpses started to make sense and I loved the second one most because it wasn't just in the past, they were actyally using time machine and zig zaging through timeline to save the day. I was about 6 years old. :D
I saw this in theaters. You're absolutely right, I was so ecstatic when I saw the teaser for Back to the Future 3 at the end. I don't know if many people share my opinion, but I think the third one is may favorite.
Not so Fun Fact… that stunt at the court house went horribly.., horribly wrong.., the female stunt actor hit a column outside, and fell onto concrete… the others had fallen onto their inflatable stunt safety mattresses.
"Nah, I wouldn't buy that" dog drone 2024, coming right at ya! :)
Awesome reaction Angelina this is one of my favorites I'm glad you enjoyed it👍
Hi Ange!😊 This is my favorite of the three, but the whole trilogy is AWESOME!!! Great reactions to your 2nd Back to the Future, Ange!!!🎬👏👏👏👏 Congratulations on your imminent 200K Subscribers!!!🧨🧨🎉🎉🎈🎈🎊🎊
They de aged doc because the filmmakers did not want to go through the process of making Christopher Lloyd look older anymore, nor was Lloyd keen on wearing any more makeup than was necessary. Plus, they didn't want Doc to be physically in his seventies for the 3rd movie.
I saw this movie when I was quite young, but I forgot everything except the 3D shark. Nobody around me remembered what I was talking about, the film with the big 3D holoshark coming out and biting the lead :P Didn't solve that mystery for decades until I bought the DVDs and happened across that scene again
Can't wait for your 3rd commentary entry for this!
This is one of the best reactions to part 2 I’ve seen
Yeah the Back To The Future day of Oct. 21, 2015 was actually pretty big on the internet, people were making parodies and stuff. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd also did a skit about it which was amazing.
200,000k subscribers, a true milestone
Some fun facts about this movie:
The actor playing the guy asking for donations for the clock tower is the voice actor for Roger Rabbit, Baby Herman, and Benny from “Who Framed River Rabbit”, Robert Zemeckis’s previous film.
This movie ALMOST predicted the future with the Cubs winning. They were just a year off and had the wrong team.
Michael J. Fox played Marty, his future son, and future daughter all in one scene.
All the sports scores that were mentioned over the radio are actual scores from games played on November 12, 1955. The filmmakers had to do their homework on that one, otherwise the sports nerds would have ripped them to shreds, lol
Great reaction/commentary, Ange!
The fact that you're watching this on Nov. 12th, the day that Marty gets sent back to the future, is probably, like, the most ironic thing ever!!!
Perfect timing with these Angelina 😉
Back to the future two was pretty good to show how everything is futuristic but yet it’s still the back to the future that everybody knows as, the next is back to the future three which is pretty good I liked it, putting a spin on it showing the old western!!!
18:34 - I had read the novelized story first, so I knew there would be a third one. I didn’t expect the sneak preview at the end of Part II.
I've loved BTTF since I was about 13 years old (21 now) But I never noticed the 1885 forshadowing at 10:28.. omg
Loved back to the future, all 3 of them! and *ISERT Ange doing the George McFly laugh here* still love ya Ange! great reaction!
I’m surprised you edited out that whole scene of Old Marty being fired.
the ending of this movie is iconic! It gets me everytime.
Btw, did you notice that Elijah Wood (Frodo) is in this one? He's the little kid in the cafe 80s
