I love MY Babygirl! She has been my companion for 11 years. She is sick now with bladder stones, and blindness. I am her eyes and ears. I will always love her and she will always love me. This is the best breed of dogs if you are a single older person..
I've owned a few breeds of dog and by far the best breed I've enjoyed owning is our Bichon Frise Max! They are adorable, cute and so loving. They thrive on attention, are so eager to please and very playful, such characters! They suffer anxiety if left for long periods, so ideal for someone at home all the time. Sure they need lots of grooming and regular baths to keep them clean. There hair is silky and made up of tight curls, so it can easily get matted and knot if you don't brush them! They don't malt like some other breeds, even after a lengthy brushing session there will be very little hair in the brush! But I have noticed if they do shed, the hair either remains in the coat and gets brushed out or you may find the occasional little clump or ball of hair on the floor, which doesn't attract to the carpet or other soft furnishings, so easy to deal with.👍😎
My Bichon had a bladder stone. He needed surgery to remove it and has been fine since (knock on wood). I firmly believe that if we had kept him as hydrated as we do now, he would not have gotten the stone. So Bichon owners, keep your Bichon well hydrated. We mix water in with his food to make it a soupy meal and this has had several health benefits for him. 1. He's no longer constipated like he used to be 2. No more bladder stones and 3) He looks healthier and acts a lot younger! He is 12 1/2 now, his stone was removed 2 years ago....he's our baby.
@@funkmiester7483 Oh, it got lodged in his urethra so he could not urinate. It was very scary. If it had not done that he would not have shown any symptoms the vet said.

You didn't walk it at least once a day? Sounds like you failed the test. Pets need loving attention. They aren't just cute fuzzy things that behave reasonably all by themselves. Not a good idea for a pup, especially this breed from what I'm learning. We have a cockapoo, going on 2 years. She is super friendly, clings to me like velcro, and seems to be getting bored and lonely because, even though I work from home, she wants me not to work on computers or phones. She pulls my hands away from the keyboard, asks to go outside and tries to lead me to go with, jumps on my lap to sleep, licks my face when I'm on a videoconference... She needs a doggy buddy!
When I went to work all day, she was okay with it, but she only wanted to sit on my lap when I got home, instead of a walk. She seemed desperate to make friends with other dogs, and sad when she didn't meet anyone when we walked. Even with two of us, she seems to want more. She's getting increasingly hyped up if I go out to grocery shop. I don't want you to end up with a messed up dog with behavior issues. I might recommend a more independent breed, and even then, maybe get two.
What did you end up deciding? I would consider a well reputed doggy daycare as the pup would get too lonely and 10 hours including commuting etc is a very long time for a dog.. sometimes they end up destroying and chewing many things around the house out of separation anxiety and boredom. And I hope your heart was not broken for too long.. and hope & pray that you are doing better now. - YoungAe from Ohio (i also have 2 dogs in addition to cats. I got the cats in pairs bc even cats are often misunderstood as not getting lonely when left alone for the whole day, but they do miss affection and companionship, too.)
