Like the guy said about Chelsea boots, not everyone can pull off everything. I think you have to have an inherent style that monk straps can come in too rather than just putting them on. They would be too loud for my style and would look too obvious/try hard on my part. But I know others who pull them off and no one would question it.

Ashley, your advice well rounded. I have applied a lot of your tips over the last couple of years and I see a difference in the way people perceive me. Not that I was a complete slob, I just notice a difference for the better. And who doesn't want that? And on this video topic: yes every now and then, like at the grocery store, I get this universal facial expression of approval from a random woman. I appreciate it!
Men can get away with maybe 5-6 pairs of shoes if they choose wisely colors and styles which would make them appropriately dressed for all occasions. 1 pair of oxfords for that suit look you need once in a while, 1 pair of loafers/monks for slightly more casual look (dress pants/chinos maybe dark non-distressed denim), 1 pair of luxury minimalist sneakers like CPs, 1 pair of lace up boots or Chelseas/Chukas and then another pair among the group I've listed for the ones you wear most often (like ones you wear to work) - so if you work where you need dress pants, then get another pair of loafers/monks/derbies, if you wear suits then get a second pair of oxfords. You need that 2nd pair to alternate between the first so it allows your shoes to dry from the moisture, which will prolong its life. You can get a lot more pairs, but what I've listed is the minimum IF you want to look appropriately dressed for all occasions.

Although I am one generation older than the presenters, I typically agree with AW on the basics of menswear. Here are two areas where I disagree: First, some of the suits look too much like Pee-Wee Herman's suit. They appear to be too tight. The second is relevant to the video. I grew up in Arizona, and I've been around sockless men in loafers. After a while, the shoes stink. I mean they reek. Even just seeing some guy going sockless with shoes I can almost smell the aroma of foot stink and leather rot.
I was told by a gal that she liked my worn, scuffed black leather work shoes (she properly guessed that they were steel-toed, too!). Her reason? It was a good indication I had a job! (vs all the unemployed deadbeats she usually met).

I’ve worn penny loafers for decades, since my high school days. I’m more likely to wear them when dressing up than even classic lace-ups. I think they dress up or down more readily than most shoes.
Though I can agree with most of this list, you two seem rather reserved in your fashion. Black, brown, and grey. Basic silhouettes with a general lack of fun, this feels more like a list to dress up for a job interview.

Men can get away with maybe 5-6 pairs of shoes if they choose wisely colors and styles which would make them appropriately dressed for all occasions. 1 pair of oxfords for that suit look you need once in a while, 1 pair of loafers/monks for slightly more casual look (dress pants/chinos maybe dark non-distressed denim), 1 pair of luxury minimalist sneakers like CPs, 1 pair of lace up boots or Chelseas/Chukas and then another pair among the group I've listed for the ones you wear most often (like ones you wear to work) - so if you work where you need dress pants, then get another pair of loafers/monks/derbies, if you wear suits then get a second pair of oxfords. You need that 2nd pair to alternate between the first so it allows your shoes to dry from the moisture, which will prolong its life. You can get a lot more pairs, but what I've listed is the minimum IF you want to look appropriately dressed for all occasions.

@@saprissa9 I think it's actually pretty simple. I remember him talking about having friends in the skincare industry who said a lot of products are unnecessary, and many people just think they're important because of marketing.

Wearing a suit doesn’t make you rich. When a woman notices a suit they instantly learn a lot about the man. He cares about himself, is etiquette and has self respect.
Although I am one generation older than the presenters, I typically agree with AW on the basics of menswear.
Here are two areas where I disagree:
First, some of the suits look too much like Pee-Wee Herman's suit. They appear to be too tight.
The second is relevant to the video. I grew up in Arizona, and I've been around sockless men in loafers. After a while, the shoes stink. I mean they reek. Even just seeing some guy going sockless with shoes I can almost smell the aroma of foot stink and leather rot.

prep style is mainly loafers due to the fact they are comfortable, anything other than that is mainly classical mens wear.
The list is too "safe" for guys like me who likes experimenting on outfits (nope I'm not a hype beast street wear brand kinda guy...i can confidently be seen rockin 80s hair metal outfits to nice clean subtle suits to retro futuristic neon cyberpunk outfits). this list is basically the essential for guys... there's no spice to it... coz most guys from various body type can wear these items safely...but hey if that's what general population of women like I'm cool with it...i agree with this list tho... it's just, I'm expecting more spicy or more themed unusual stuff that women considered "wow, never thought that looks good” from a fashion channel that's all...
I’ve worn penny loafers for decades, since my high school days. I’m more likely to wear them when dressing up than even classic lace-ups. I think they dress up or down more readily than most shoes.
