    "They place high value on family and the collective "(or something like that)
    "if someone couldn't Keep up/ contribute, they were left behind"
    --> Kind of a Contradiction, isn't it?

    • @hakujin214

      The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few

    • @violentscorl697
      @violentscorl697 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      hakujin214 Yes, that's what the last Statement reveals about togruta society. But how can you place the highest Value on family and the collective and then just leave anyone deemed not Good enough behind?

    • @hakujin214
      @hakujin214 7 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      I guess by leaving weaker members behind, the collective is stronger overall because of it. I'm not saying it's great. It's definitely a contradiction from a certain point of few, but I actually think that makes it more true to life considering how contradictory many human cultural values are.

    • @violentscorl697
      @violentscorl697 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      hakujin214 True. Also I like your Obi-Wan Kenobi-ing 😁 "From a certain point of view"...

      There is a world of difference between abandoning a sick or deformed child and an elderly or infirm adult self exiling themselves for the betterment of the group.
      There is a history of human societies with a tradition of the elderly euthanatizing themselves in times of famine or hardship to free up resources for the younger generations

    Nothing new here, but appreciate the attempt to put it together. I can add that Togruta, because they were natural predators (and sometimes prey), had to work together to take down their enemies and survive. Hence the strong identification with the group dynamics. At some point, the planet Shili came into contact with other cultures and species from elsewhere in the Galaxy and so naturally, some of their members left the planet. They would return from elsewhere and eventually, the Togruta were slowly urbanized as wealth came to the planet by trading with other societies.

    This is great info. Being a deep fan of the movies but with only surface level knowledge of Clone Wars, Rebels, etc., I always assumed that Ahsoka Tano and Shaak Ti were Twi'leks due to their head tails. You mentioned in the video "they have head tails, like the Twi'leks..." Is there any mention or reference to a common ancestor race (like Vulcans and Romulans in Star Trek). I feel like Twi'leks also have a strong connection to the force since we see Aayla Secura and others during the same era.

    • @ahsokatano9530

    No mention about how they munch live mouse like creatures and let people think they are venomous? " from wookiepedia s predators, Togruta had sharp canine teeth, which they used to painlessly kill thimiars, their primary prey, causing the creatures' post-mortem death spasms. This gave outsiders the false impression that Togruta were venomous. However, Togrutas did nothing to dispel this misconception and even took advantage of the intimidating presence it gave them." I am still waiting to see this behavior from Ahsoka or one just to hear people go "EWW" in the theater. that would be so cool.

    Concerning a ObiWan solo movie, you usually see people saying it could take place between episode III and IV, chronicling the life of Ben Kenobi on Tatooine. But would you be open to the idea of a movie telling the story of how Obi-wan got baby Luke to tatooine ? I've never seen specified anywere how much time it took them to get there. I could see a movie where Obiwan has to go on a somewhat longer journey than he expected, a kind of odyssey , defending baby Luke from various threats, hopping from one planet to another in order to throw of the empire and its purge of the jedi. What do you think ?

    I like how you say that the info from legends should be considered true since there is no other info about them. The only thing worse than Disney replacing canon stories is that they left gaps on previously true info when they said that a ton of stuff from legends is not canon. There's tons of info that isn't canon, but should be because there's no alternative info to say they aren't true.

    I thought that Togrutas either wore some cool headdress thing or had 4 horns.

    So what do you think is the reason behind Ashoka’s headdress difference between TCW and Rebels besides that they were drawn in different styles. Togruta both Jedi and non-Jedi had the golden teeth decorating their headdresses, so it wouldn’t identify her as a force weilder. Why would Ashoka not have the headdress from TCW in Rebels, and is there any significance to her new headdress? #suggestion #question

    Sense the Montrals give Togruta "passive" echo location, could they also use their Montrals to temporarily subdue / stun / paralyze their prey just before "the death blow". I considered this myself knowing how that Dolphin use echo location to find prey, and will use their echo location to stun the prey, capturing and eating them. I would LOVE to know others opinion and thoughts on this.
