Unnatrual Corpse Defeat | Rimworld Anomaly

- After letting the unnatural corpse lay around in my containment facility for a bit too long (and ignoring all the warnings) it reanimated.
Barraging it with several mini guns, melee pawns, charge rifles and centipede blasters managed to overcome its ridiculous healing ability before it psychically fried one of my pawns brain.
Unfortunately it did not drop anything more special than a shard. Probably because you really are supposed to just destroy the corpse before it reanimates.

I just dealt with this in my own colony and I swear when that music started it immediately put me on edge. This thing might be one of the creepiest ones I’ve seen so far. A corpse that looks identical to you and just follows you no matter where you go is fucking horrifying.

when my unnatural corpse woke up, my colonist it was after was under anesthetic because of my installing implants, and when the corpse woke up it was under anesthetic too, so my melee guys just beat it to death while it was laying on the ground

I didn't know what the "intended" way to kill the unnatural corpse was, but I knew from a previous run (where it fried my pawn) that it copies drugs, so I had the idea of putting my guy under anesthesia and then sticking him into a cryptocasket so he'd stay perpetually anesthetized until the corpse was dealt with. The corpse copied my melee pawn who was completely and utterly stacked with damage reducing genes and the tough trait (basically a super hussar), which was the worst possible scenario. Even with full preparation and an army of high dps melee users, it took hours to beat it to death.
You can just drug the copied pawn? Now thats easy to handle
every advanced entity is either "KILL RIGHT THE FUCK NOW" or colony dies
not necessarily. devourers on their own are not that bad, and noctols in the light are a joke
I don't know this cube seems pretty awesome. I even made a little copy of it to keep around to remind me of it when I'm doing non-cube related activities.

Before the update, it was truly invincible. Even dev mode bomb can't kill it

When I met it, i used diabolus and scythers in corridor near containment zone to oneshot this thing (and also 2 scythers)

Usually because it's short enough for the corpse to obliterate the pawn they're after and that'd be it. Though you could take players who frequently pause into account.
The one time i found it, i put it in the freezer cause i thought: ‘mm research. put it in the coldroom incase it rots.’ Ended up just getting destroyed
Oh my word. That is an astounding amount of firepower, and even that took a while.
I killed one of these things using psychic power (Beckon) while it hypnotized its original. it literally exploded, hilarious!
shame it doesnt give you anything special for dealing with it the hard way... would be neat if you got a degraded version of the healing factor, with the cavet it gibs the pawn after a short time.

I just gave the colonist that it copied death refusals and revived them after it teleported away

It approximately have 1000 Healing capacity, whatever you do don't let it get the real colonist or else it's ability will be upgraded.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't touched Anomaly yet. Can someone explain why this thing was practically invincible? lol
You know you can contain multiple entities in a single cell and share a bioferrite harvester and electroharvester between them, right? You're wasting so much electricity running so many, and having so many security doors it's insane.
My current setup has 8 gorehulks surrounding one bioferrite harvester and electroharvester. I havent even installed plating on the floor yet, but it's still more than enough to contain them.

I tried doing the same thing but it just teleported past all my colonists, not sure if because it has the skip ability or just a change
It will instantly teleport to the original pawn if you don't look at the corpse directly. That's what phrase "it will follow NAME no matter what" implies

@@auklin7079 i believe that it doesn't stop teleportation when active. It even gains ability to teleport through everything blocking it's way to the pawn if there is no path.
I once tried to block my pawn in the solid block of granite in order to save it from corpse. It was pretty safe grave ngl

More like lobotomy corp. expansion since there is a way to get new material for the weapons and armor from anomalies as well as the way to produce energy using 2 new generators: one that damages captured anomalies in order to produce up to 2000W, and one that burn new material at the speed of 8 per day to produce 4000W

I had my ghoul nibble on it a bit, when the corpse reanimated it immediately grew the bitten off limbs back.
Idk weather you can completely consume it, that might be a funny way to deal with it without having to study it for days on end.

@@sailorpoop7726 if the corpse is destroyed in any way(before activation) it will come back few hours later and the original pawn will suffer from psychic shock

I have a bugged corpse right now, i have killed it 4 times so far. I am using alot of mods so thats probably the reason it is bugged. First time i killed it i used Scarlett edge's ability to insta kill it. I then used some other ability that put my pawn in a coma to insta kill it again. I then used a finisher to down him for 2 hours. I put the corpse in cryosleep where he resides now. I'm gonna build up to a simlar amount of development with pawns and firepower to kill him permanently, but while i do that he can sleep in the cryosleep casket 😂
I hope he will be permanently dead if i kill him legit 😂

Vanilla playthrough, so all i had installed was the core game and the dlc's royalty, ideology, biotech and anomaly (the most recent and also most relevant one to this video).
