Thank you!!! Our Chamberlain remote instructions did not even say to press and hold the button on the remote, just to press it. We were confused when their info didn't work. Pressing and holding briefly till the remote's light stayed on was the trick. (BTW we did not have to clear any memory. I didn't want to do that anyway in case I erased the other remote's programming.)
Thanks for your video! I watched several others, read the FAQ's for both Chamberlain and Genie and not one of them mentioned except yours, that one needs to observe the blinking RED LED learn light change to solid to see that the remote and opener have synced. For over an hour, I'm getting pissed off not seeing the light bulb flash, or door open etc.
Mike, so you ended up getting it programmed? FYI, a fresh battery makes the syncing up part easier. Even if it's a brand new remote. Those batteries are half dead and makes a poor connection.

I have a Chamberlain clicker model KLIK5U-BK2 which I want to program to operate a Genie model 2128. The opener is newer and came with a new house only six months old. I followed both the Chamberlain instructions and the Genie instructions. The chat with Chamberlain ended when the support person told me Chamberlain will not work with a newer Genie opener. What do you think? Is Genie gone over to the proprietary dark side? Any construction suggestions are welcome.

Is there a way to use both the keypad and the remote? When I moved into the house the remote worked and then I programmed the keypad and it canceled the remote so I reset the keypad and reprogrammed the remote and it works but the keypad does not.
You're welcome! Did you clear out the Genie Keypad? Genie keypads need cleared before entering new codes. Depending on which one you have because there are a few the sequences to clearing them out are different so you might want to research that. I don't have a video yet on how to clear out the different Genie keypads which that is coming in the future.
Hmm..you should be able to program both keypad and remote. I know with Genies it sometimes takes a few tries. Clear everything, even the opener. Press and hold learn button until red led stops flashing. Then attempt it again.
I need help. I followed your steps and my genie model 7055 won't program my chamberlain universal remote. I tried these steps and watched a ton of videos but doesn't work.
Question, I have a Sears craftsman 3/4 hp motor that came with a smart wall button which has an LCD screen along with a motion detector among other things and it sends all the commands using an 18/2 conductor. The lLCD wall box got damaged so I wanted to use a basic doorbell button. Would it work for basic open/ close operation or does it have to be the same replacement type? I don’t want to replace wall box as I will be buying new unit latter on. Thank you.
Is it an older Sears Craftsman? If so, then yes. Newer Sears Craftsman with a yellow antenna you can't use a regular door bell button, it has to be specifically for a Chamberlain new style product. Hello! I recently bought 2 chamberlain garage door remotes to program to our genie overhead door python 2. It had 2 chamberlain garage remotes programmed previously but we lost one. I’ve watched your video multiple times and tried it out without cleaning memory and then with cleaning it and I ended up wiping the memory of the other opener we originally had. I wanted to know if you had an idea of what can be going wrong? I would really like to have 3 openers but also my issue is after the first 2 steps of cleaning, and then pressing the program button on for the remote and the learn code again and then pressing the button on the clicker about 6 times, they should match up the lights. That happens but when I save and then click again to open the door, nothing happens. what could I be missing or doing wrong?
Sorry for the late reply. Maybe you're clicking it one to many times. When the LED on the opener goes completely off, then press the little black button in the remote. 🤔

A new battery helps with a strong signal. If there is a new battery, try clearing the memory on the opener and then the programming process again. I know what you mean tho. Genie's sometimes will do that.
@@aaronholmes6910 when your pressing the remote button try doing it firmly but quickly. Like I said, Genie's do that. I've had to try the process several times before it worked.
youre title for chamberlain but your using a liftmaster... titled for a genie but my genie has different learn buttons and completely different lights.. mine did not work... maybe be more specific cuz it didnt work for my genie 500 series model 1035.. 😒

Sorry for the late reply. So you have 2 universal remotes. You get one to program, but the other doesn't synch to the unit? What brand of machine you programming to? Tips- New batteries. Or clear the memory on the machine by pressing and holding the smart learn button until the led stops flashing. Then try it. Good luck !

Are Craftsman remotes incapable of being paired with Genie openers? It lists Yellow/Purple/Red/Orange/Green but the Genie has a f#%^$& Black button. 😭

I did clear the Genie Keypad. I used Prog-6-Up/Down buttons. That was how I was able to program the Keypad because it wouldn't work otherwise.

There isn't one I know of. Just order a Marantec remote from Amazon. They are SUPER easy to program.

Yes, you can program multiple remotes.
