Congratulations Ray on completing your BSN…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎊…you deserve to feel proud! Hope you find a great MSN program…I completed my MSN in 1991 and it was a career changer for me. I’m retired now after working in hospitals for 48 years 😄. A wonderful and rewarding profession…bravo 🤩
Aww thank you so much! I’ve been so lucky with my work and I’m so excited to take the next step ❤️
Congratulations
This episode should have been called: "Confessions of a Yarnaholic". Thanks for a great afternoon's watching while I knit and it rained outside. Congratulations Ray on finishing your BScN.
Haha 😂 you’re so right!! And thank you ❤️❤️
oh Kevin what a good alternative color choice. looks amazing.
Congrats Ray on completing your degree xx
Thanks Kathy!! ❤️❤️
I am a retired nurse educator (38 year), so I know what you have been going through in school. You will not regret all of the work you have done and I hope you continue to the MSN. The more education, the more doors will be open to you! Congratulations, Ray.
Thank you so much! I’m definitely motivated to keep going and hopefully will be in a program soon 😊
On the actual knitting, get Ray, all casual, ‘ Yeah, I did a 2 colour tubular cast on’ 🤣 You are a proper knitter now for sure! And we’ll done Kevin trusting your gut about your colour choices, looking fab now! 😍
LmAo 🤣 thanks 😊 haha
Congratulations, Ray! Your achievement deserves to be celebrated!
Your sweater is gorgeous and I think if you leave off the pocket, it will allow you to wear it dressier when you want. The pocket would give it a more casual look.
Thanks so much ❤️❤️ I totally agree about the pocket ❤️❤️
Ray, congrats on your BSN!!! That is such a huge accomplishment. This RN is damn proud of you!
Kevin, I literally gasped when I saw your colorwork yoke! I cannot wait to see how it turns out 💜
Thank you!!!
🎉💗Congratulations, Ray! Yes, the post-school slump/depression is real. Love the newer colors, Kevin, on your sweater.
Thanks so much!! ❤️❤️
Uncle Kevin, when dying do some mini skeins so Uncle Ray can put them in the blanket for y’all’s niece. 💕
This is a very cute idea 😊😊
The 2 of you are hilarious together. I love the interaction between you. Ray, congratulations on your degree!
Aww thanks so much! We love doing these and hanging out with you all ❤️❤️
congratulations we r proud off you here comes corvette.
Haha 😂 thank you 😊
Guys, you both deserve champagne and a harp. Kevin, the new sweater colors are perfect. Ray, BSN !!!.
It's too early for pumpkin anything.
No pocket.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much! I dunno.. pumpkin season is yummy season 😂
Love it, “yarn buying is a sport”. And of course as we all know, practice makes perfect. Congratulations Ray on earning your BSN. That is great! Definitely worth a celebration! Thank you both for another great episode. You both make me smile and I love seeing all your projects.
Thank you!
Kevin, your joy over your new Once and Floral colors is palpable and a little contagious. Not to mention how beautiful it is. Stunning! And Ray, props for your BSN!!👏👏👏🎉
Aww thank you so much from both of us ❤️❤️
Hi guys! You are just what the doctor ordered this afternoon ❤️
Aww thanks! So happy we can hang out!
And lest I forget, Kevin I love the redo on your sweater! The colors definitely pop this time. What a great tip to take a pic and put it in B/W mode. I can't wait to see the FO! 👏👏👏
Thanks so much!! Loving it so far!!
Oh man, Kevin.... it is absolutely GORGEOUS. I cannot wait to see what you do with that beautiful yellow you were originally using for the flowers. That yarn was gorgeous but this one is working so much better for this project. I am OBSESSED!!
Aww thanks!! It’s so much fun and so happy with the changes ❤️
🌟🌟🌟 🏆🥇yay well done Ray - fabulous - congratulations and I bet your mum is mega proud of you. Fab, fab, fab and well done Kevin for being chosen 👏👏 double celebrations - now I will go and watch the rest of you.🌻
Thank you Jill!
Kevin congratulations on getting your BSN and on that beautiful sweater, great color and fit. I just love you and Ray.
Thank you Kimberly!
Congratulations Ray on completing your BSN! A great accomplishment. And Kevin I love your fade sets. Your dyeing is amazing. I enjoy your chanel so much!

55:00 oh wow, Kevin! Those flowers are beautiful! ❤❤❤ now I am curious to see your progress, need to bingewatch on double speed 😆
Omg guys-what to say about this episode? Congrats Ray on completing your BSN. Michael your sweater 😍😍, your yarn dying fades 😍😍. All the things you bought! Just everything! And a big thanks Michael for mentioning a salad spinner for getting the excess water out of washed knits in an earlier podcast. I bought one and used it after washing my hand knit socks. Works really well. Until next time!
Aww thanks so much Linda ❤️❤️
The smores bag is so darn CUTE! and all of the extra surprises in side. Congratulations on your BSN Ray! You both are so talented. Take Care!
Thank you Susie!
Congratulations Ray on finishing your degree! It's a huge accomplishment! And, Kevin the fades you dyed are stunning!
Thank you 😊
Manx ‘luffton’ 👍🏻🐑 We are literally just inventing difficult to pronounce sheep to export to the US 😉🤣🤣🤣
Lol it’s working! 😂
Three cheers Ray for finishing your BSN...way to go! Congratulations, Kevin for making the excellent decisions on the flowers sweater & your color choices for the dyed yarn is beautiful, too! Wouldn't miss an episode just to see the interplay between you two! Your mother's are so proud of you, I'm certain! You make me laugh out loud! TA DA to another grand episode!
Thank you Jane!
Congratulations Ray!!! I don't know how you do all that you do. Work full-time, knit all you knit, read and go to school!
Aww thank you! I try to take breaks and luckily knitting is a way for me to unwind and escape from time to time ❤️
“I know you’re mocking me with your eyes” 🤣🤣🤣
Lol 😂
Congratulations Ray on completing your BSN degree! I love your sweater and Kevin’s Once and Floral is STUNNING! Your podcast is definitely one of my favorites for sure 😊
Thank you so much Beth!
CONGRATULATIONS RAY!! 👨🎓🕺🎓😎 You did a great thing by sticking to it and finishing your degree. Way to go!!!
Thank you so much! I’m really happy to have finished 😊
Ray your sweater with the roses is gorgeous and you were right to change the colors to get the effect you wanted. If you enjoy the process of knitting and crocheting ripping out is just par for course to use a golf metaphor.
Kevin, your sweater looks SOOOO much better with the new colours! Love it!
Thank you so much! I’m really happy with it so far 😊
Love you guys. Congrats Ray on your hard work. If I was in the hospital I would love to have you as my nurse. Perfect job for you.
Aww thanks Susan, that means a lot to me ❤️
Congrats Ray on your BSN, great sweater and it looks greT without the pocket. Kevin that color work sweater is amazing, so sad that you had to rip it out, but it had to be done and please hold Ray's hand.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much Doris 😊
Switching colors made the flowers really POP
Thank you, I’m much happy with the sweater now.
🎺 ☆fanfare !!☆ 🎺
Congratulations on finishing your degree !! A hundred years ago l was doing home healthcare working with geriatric dementia & alzheimer pts so l know you put your heart in to your work !!
The Brooklyn tweed postcard is just gorgeous !!
Be well 🦋
Thanks Dori! And that patient population is so in need of good caregivers ❤️❤️
Congratulations Ray on completing your BSN degree! Kevin love your color choices on your Max colorwork flower sweater, can't wait to see it finished! I love your dyed yarn, especially the blue fade collection as well as your others. Keep up the good work boys.....always look forward to your episodes.
Thank you Kristen!
Congratulations Ray on completing your BSN!!! So outstanding! 🤸♂️🤸♂️🤸♂️ I’m a nurse am I’m too thrilled for you!
Thank you Veronica!
Kevin, when you held the flower color work up, I gasped and said look at that! The dogs ran in looking around and jumped up to look out the window. WOW what a difference.
Thank you Sue!! Hi puppies 🐶
Well done Ray. Like you, I worked full time while doing my BSN and my Master’s. You’ll love the Master’s. So much more fun and freeing then the BSN! And thank you for staying in nursing. Such difficult, yet rewarding work!
That’s what I hear! I LmAo looking forward to strictly nursing classes now 😊
Kevin those flowers look a billion times better!! Good on you for frogging all that work it really looks way nicer than the grey that you had before. 🏅 Ray Congratulations on the completion of your studies 🎺 🍾
Thanks so much Tessa ❤️❤️
Congratulations Ray on completing your BSN.
Fade names…Royals for the Blue, Outfield for the Green, Martini or crown for the gold, oriole for the orange. BTW…they are ALL gorgeous!
Thank you Lisa! Great color names too 😀
Congratulations Ray 🎼 🍾 🎼. Your pullover is lovely simple but very classic. Kevin you did the right thing in frogging your sweater, it beautiful now.
Thanks Aida! Lots to celebrate ❤️❤️
Congratulations Ray!!!! 🎉👏 - yes, buying yarn if an Olympic sport, I’m the current gold medalist. So love you guys and your updates, inspiration, and let’s be honest, the more unfocused and snarky, the better!
Haha 😂 we have just so much fun 🤩
🥳Congrats on getting your BSN🎉🎉🎉 The extra spending that Kevin is razzing you about is your Graduation gift to yourself.🤩
Lol yes!! I love how your mind works!! Haha 😆
Drum roll for Ray - congrats!!! Loved the yarn colors. I always fear a skunk will be outside in our backyard when I
put the boys out at midnight or later or at 5:30 am. We have seen raccoons on the top of the fence. I can’t imagine that smell.
Thank you so much! And yes, the concentrated smell is really difficult to explain…yuck 😝😂❤️❤️
Kevin, those gradients are amazing! I think you may have found your specialty. Not everyone can dye good gradients but you sir definitely can!
Thank you Natalie!
Thanks Kevin and Ray for ur help on utube I used to knit but with pin in my hands I had to stop but watching u an seeing u use the round needles I thought I would give them a try an I can now knit again without pain I love ur podcasts only been watching since no 68 I love u both x
Aww thanks Linda!! So glad you are able to get back to it!! That makes our hearts very happy 😊😊
For the future, the best skunk off ever and highly recommended from vets (including me) (yes, don't bathe first): 1 pt H2O2, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon Dawn (is the best anti oil). Don't mix ahead, it foams like crazy. Use as shampoo (I do twice), then shampoo off. In vet school, I also checked with toxicogist and dermatologist and it's safe. Sorry (ugh!!!) but very glad he didn't swallow the spray --- it's deadly toxin.
Yes! This works!! Have had to do this several times - we live in the country.
@@Melmaz32 Yup, me too. Dad you had to use it, though.
Thank you soo much!! I get nervous with the peroxide and his dark fur though. Do you think it will be an issue?
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast nope. And I asked. Give a good solid "bath", let sit for a long as he can stand it (my kids averaged 2-3 minutes lol), then wash off with a gentle doggie shampoo. My kids are border collies, primarily black, and never had an issue.
Back in the day when I was in high school my cat came in at 3am and starting with her nose rubbed her whole skunk sprayed body across my face while I slept. It was a very rude awakening. 😂
Congratulations Ray on your BSN. I am so incredibly happy and proud for you.
Your sweater looks sharp on you. I love without the pocket. Great staple you should make another. 🧶
Kevin I kinda felt bad that you frogged 🐸 all the work on your sweater.
That was until I saw the new color scheme. OMG what a change. Well done it looks fantastic.
May all NATR fam have a blessed week. ♥️
Oh I’ve watched SPN many times over and have stopped before the ending two seasons. I guess it’s my way of it not ending. 😁
Omg what an awful way to wake up. Thank you for all the kind words.
Kevin, great example of the difference your yarn choice and color makes. It’s perfect. Congrats Ray on your BSN! I remember how hard it was to work full-time and go to school. I hope your MSN goes smoothly. The So Basic is a great fit. Deborah in Florida
Thanks so much Deborah ❤️❤️
Congratulations on your BSN! I did the same many years ago! I worked for forty four years in amazing hospitals.
Wishing you all the best and hope you will stay strong and happy. My mantra was always Progress and positivity! Lol!
I’m retired now and love watching you both and your talented knitting! It’s amazing and I love you encourage and teach us
new and wonderful things! Thank you! ♥️🙏🕊
Thank you!! I love that mantra and am totally stealing it ❤️❤️
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast Sweet! Just turn it around to Positivity and Progress and make it your own sweetie!
Your both are incredible. I have many nurses watching you now. We are thinking about having a knitting club in
your honor! You have definitely got us fired up! We named it the Rusty Nails! Lol! We are all retired, if there is anything we can
ever do for you, just give me a shout. ♥️♥️🕊🙏🌞
The light effects on your hat are so interesting Ray!
On the outside, the darker blue is up so it gets more light and seems therefore lighter. The lighter blue is in the shadow and is therefore darker. So the two colors become more similar. On the inside the opposite happens so the contrast is actually enhanced.
Loved the video as always :)
Thanks 😊
Kevin, great choice to switch out the yarn for your sweater. It looks awesome!
Thank you Hollie! I’m much happier with the sweater now.
Hi, guys from Oregon! So glad to see you today 🧶. My Le Pouf cardigan in Kevin’s beautiful green “Druid’s Grove” yarn is on hold until the weather cools. I’ve finished the bottom edge ribbing and have one ribbed cuff and half of the other cuff, but with the heat, it was like sitting under a blanket! Congratulations, Ray, for your completing your classes! Pat yourself on the back! Keep on keepin’ on….👍🥰👍
Thanks Mary! Can’t wait to see your project when the cooler weather comes through 😊
“It’s mine now. Mind your business” is the T shirt we all need ;)
Lol that would be such a great tshirt.
Congratulations on completing your BSN, Ray!!! That's so exciting!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you ❤️❤️
Congratulations Ray on completing your nursing degree. Another great visit, Kevin, your yarn fades are gorgeous and the once and floral is now perfect . Excellent bank breaking 😂😃
Thanks Dianna! We had such a fun time with this episode 😊❤️
Regardless of Kevin's ribbing you about them, those Christmas stockings won't take so long, Ray. I've knitted similar ones and the colorwork keeps you going. I'm rootin' for you!
Haha thank you!! ❤️
Thanks for sharing your haul! That bag from the yarn crawl has so many uses and it is cute with the red/pink handles. On my screen it looks red but not sure. Kevin those fades are all so lovely! See you in two weeks!
Thanks so much! It’s almost a reddish pink but love the size of them 😊
Your flowers on the sweater look amazing. Koodos to you for frogging it worth the time and effort
Thanks Becky, I’m really happy with the now.
Congrats on your graduation, Ray! I love your sweaters and shawls, Kevin and Ray. Kevin, my LYS, Wool & Honey, has Brooklyn Tweed Loft in Hayloft 😉. I love to enable!
Thank you Cathy!
Congratulations Ray! You should be so proud of yourself!
Aww thank you so much ❤️❤️
Congratulations Ray on your bachelor degree. You already had my utmost respect for being a nurse. What would this world be without them love you guys. Gloria from colorado
Aww Gloria! Thank you so much! That really means to world to me ❤️❤️
Happy you like the 80s bags! 😊 I have that notions case too and love it!! The big compartment is a great place for a tapestry needle as well!
Love them!!
Kevin your sweater color changes are fantastic. Such a drastic change, and fabulous!
Thank you Stacey! I’m much happier with the colors now.
Congratulations, Ray!! My sister is a nurse so I have a little bit of an idea of what a huge accomplishment this is. Thank you for all that you do!!
Thank you Lisa 😀
I really enjoyed this episode, and I had a good time for the shop crawl, and my favorite local ones are Ewe and You and Knit New Haven. The funny thing is when my dad (he is from the area, but I'm not) heard I went down to Knit New Haven, he accused me of only going there for Pepe's (which wasn't true, if they were closer I would've gone more). I am also happy that Ewe and You is my local yarn store, and it was so nice there to be at the end of the day since it was so quiet. Congrats on your degree, Kevin, and the funny thing is I start up grad school again in two weeks. Next week is quite a few orientations to listen through.
Hi Elisa! Good luck with grad school.
YOU GUYS…. as ever, always awesome. Thanks, I needed you today. 😀💕
Aww thanks! Glad we could be there for you and hopefully bring some joy to your day ❤️❤️
Congrats Ray on finishing your Rn. I really like your simple sweater. I am trying to be more mindful about knitting things I will actually wear a lot. Kevin, the new colors of your once and floral are fabulous. It is a good reminder to not be afraid to rip out and change things to get something that really suits us.
Thank you so much! It’s definitely a lot of anxiety ripping out but so worth it most of the time ❤️❤️
Thank You for another great show for me to watch , while knitting. Currently working on the Tyntesfield top by Mary Henderson for The Wooley Thistle sweater KAL. Ray congratulations on your BSN! Ray your sweater came out so very nice. Kevin having to rip out and redo color work is painful, but it is usually, as in this case, for the best. This sweater is going to be a stunner! Aw, getting sprayed by skunks is never fun, for anybody! Once upon a time, both of our dogs got sprayed, even after washing neither one would sleep next to the other or even get close to each other.
I’m doing that KAL too!!
Aww lol poor little ones!! That had to be difficult for sure!! ❤️❤️
Ray congrats on getting your BSN! That's a huge accomplishment and doing it while working full time is even more difficult. Well done.
Kevin your color sense has always been Well elevated and now with a little more education your fades are stunning!!
By the way your stash has metastasized! Lol.
Stay safe and Thank you.
Thanks so much Julie! ❤️❤️
Congrats 🥳 well done
I’ve ordered a DellaQ makers case and project bag, you guys sold me. Got the mustard.
Aww yay!! You’re going to love them!!
Hi again from Dublin, sorry to have missed the live. Love you guys
Hi Beatrice! Thank you for watching and commenting, we really appreciate it.
Congrats on finishing your BSN Ray! It IS a big deal……thanks for your service too. Kevin, I sensed you were going to rip out last episode, great decision!! The flowers look amazing now. Love all your purchases too, thanks for hanging out.
Aww thanks Susie! Happiness all around ❤️❤️
CONGRATULATIONS Ray on finishing your degree !! Celebrate YOU !!
Thank you so much ❤️😂
Thanks for a fun 2 hrs. I chuckled most of the way thru this episode. Ray congrats 🎉 on your BSN. Kevin your sweater is awesome- can’t wait to it it complete. I did stop and go to your store and make a purchase. Can’t wait. Now go feed Ray.
Thank you Debby!
Congratulations Ray completing your bonus 👏 🙌 Kevin your yarn dyeing is fantastic loving the colour blue my favourite 💙 and your jumper your knitting is gorgeous both keep u your amazing work I always look forward to your videos much love from England
aww thank you so much 😊 that means a lot to us ❤️😊
Went to Ewe and Ewe for first time on LYS Day, what a cute shop! So many new to me yarns!
Oh fun!! It’s a great little shop ❤️❤️
I adore rust colours and moss greens, so I really like the moss green sweater.
I like the green Lava Lake shawl too. I'm currently using the same spiralling pattern on a pair of socks.
The brioche with the minis is really lovely. What an adventure!
It is so common when using scraps, small amounts or leftovers to end up using all the best contrasting colours, favourites or easiest to put together then struggle with how to use the rest. Often this leads me to acquire a few more colours "to use up my colours nicely" which kind of defeats the purpose of using things up lol. Valid reason though, yes?
Looking forward to seeing the Once and Floral finished. It's glorious.
As to the Eggnog yarn, Stephen West says that as soon as you wind up a ball you can consider it leftover lol. You don't even have to have used any yet. So that should solve that lol.
So many nice bags.... I want some nice bags now.
I bet the Christmas stockings don't take you as long to knit up as you think they might when you get started.
Sooo many nice bags....
Dishcloths seem to be a lot of work to put into something you're just going to use like any old rag, but they are great to make to get familiar with new patterns. Any squares can also be used for other projects.
Gosh! Those sock sets! With matching bag and stitch marker too!! Vanilla socks? YES! To be honest, most of my socks are vanilla socks so the easy knit fabric can show off the yarn.
Congratulations Ray 🎊 on finishing school, awesome 👌, Kevin your yarns are beautiful, loved the blues, again another entertaining podcast
Thank you ❤️❤️
Just found your channel recently. Congratulations on finishing your BSN. 🎉I have been a nurse for 26 years and I still remember the stress and torture of nursing school. It’s a very rewarding career still love it and can’t imagine doing anything else.
Thanks so much! Took me forever but I’m so glad I finished the degree.
Buying yarn, bags, and accessories does not make us weak, it makes us Rescuers! No skein left behind!
Haha I’m so stealing this!!! 😂❤️❤️
Oh my gosh what a really fun episode. First congratulations Ray on finishing your degree and very wise to start the next step soon. Loved having all the yarn I’ve goodness in one episode. Its funny how a casual comment takes on a life of its own 😂 especially in the moment. Have a great two weeks.
Thank you so very much! We have so much fun doing these and getting to hang out with you all ❤️❤️
If those fades last….you could call them “name your fade” 😃. Kevin, your sweater is fabulous!
Thank you Kristen! Good idea for the fade names.
Kevin, fantastic job on the sweater . It looks amazing . Good on you!!
Thanks Diana 😊
I get such a kick outta each podcast! Laugh out loud funny! Kevin, my grandparents had little Bayer aspirin tablet tins I would play w when I was little, also, in the 80’s they came back with lip gloss slidey lid tin things too! So much fun!
Thank you Nikki! I wonder if that is where I remember the tins from.
Take it from someone who has gone back to school multiple times....Ray completing you BSN is something to celebrate! Congratulations!!!!! I'll just have to drink to that since I can't buy you one. Kevin I am so glad you decided to change the colorwork on your sweater. I could tell you weren't feeling it but its so difficult to start over after so much work. Your new color choice is absolutely beautiful. ( I may just steal it). Kudos to you for following your gut! The two of you are so fun to watch. Different personalities that fit together perfectly. Oh, Kevin your fade colors are the best! Hope you continue to add more. Take care both of you and see you next time!
Aww thanks so much!! We absolutely love doing these and getting the chance to hang out with you all! ❤️❤️
Congratulations Ray!!! No pocket on you sweater. Kevin, I love your fades.
Thank you Marie!
A BSN and a finished fingering weight sweater?! Damn! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Haha right?! Where’s my harp?! 😂❤️
Congrats Ray on your BSN from a fellow RN ( retired after 46 years) and knitter!
Aww thank you so much!! Happy retirement!! ❤️❤️❤️
Kevin, you made the right choice. That sweater is going to be gorgeous!
Thanks, I definitely like these color much more.
I’m making a Lava Lake too! My 5th color just didn’t look as good as I thought it would so just used 4 and had just enough to make it work. I found that I had to be extra careful in the WS decrease section for placement of the yarn over as it can easily get on the wrong side of the stitch marker!! Speaking from experience 😬
It’s always hard to rip out but definitely worth it in the end ❤️
Ray, happy graduation and that sweater is BEYOND on you!!
Thank you so much Gail!
Raaaaaay!!! Congratulations! I'm so excited for you. I know you put a lot of hard work and maaaany long hours into this degree. Well done, for sure! I haven't even finished watching the episode, but had to pop over and say congrats! Woohoo! 🥳
Thank you Chelsea!
Congrats Ray! That sweater looks amazing Kevin! Come on Ray you can get those stockings done for this year 😂 I remember those slide containers with chapstick inside.
Thank you Jeni!
Tomato juice can also be another “skunk off” recipe if you’re in a pinch! Takes quite a bit (we have 70 lb dogs) but your small dog can probably get done with a quart!
I’ve heard that! I just wasn’t prepared to go out for tomato juice at 5 am lol 😂❤️
