- Lucy’s earliest memories are kicking a football and keeping up with her older brother - a competitiveness that set her up to excel in many sports, in spite of her shyness. She poured herself into football and wasn’t to know that her passion would lay the foundations for the future of women’s football in England and beyond.
Tune into episode 4 of Listen Loudly to hear my conversation with professional footballer Lucy Bronze MBE. Lucy currently plays for FC Barcelona and was part of the winning England team in the UEFA Cup 2022. She's received BBC Women's Footballer of the Year multiple times as well as being the first England player to receive the UAEFA’s women's Player of the Year.
Today, you’ll hear Lucy’s inspiring story: her start in football; her relentless self-belief instilled by her family; her long-term approach to, chipping away to get better; and how understanding the psychology of herself and her teammates, made her a better Captain.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
How football helped Lucy overcome her childhood shyness
Lucy’s childhood coach predicted she’d play for England one day
Football isn’t Lucy’s only sport talent
How Lucy’s England debut came at a crossroads in her life
You have to understand yourself first in order to lead others
How training philosophies vary from country to country

@@benfroughi You're a bigot
@@benfroughi who hurt you that you're this bitter about someone else's life??? You need to do some serious self-reflection. For real. 🙏🏽
@@elaineph if she had an ounce of integrity or respect for the beautiful game, she would refuse to take part in the puppet show that tries to claim women can play football.
@@elaineph the disrespect towards the beautiful game is totally unacceptable. Football wasn't built for women to freeride off it.
this is really nice
I lo e Lucy!

To think how close England came to losing the best right back in the world to Portugal
