i think in this game there weren’t “animations” to decide every outcome. believe there was actually a physics engine and legit player logic. amazing how nobody has been able to do that since this game. pretty embarrassing for pro football tbh

CPU never throws it deep, screen passes are nearly impossible, lead blocking AI is downright fucking awful, DB AI needs some improvement, OL AI sometimes just let's you run right by them and is too easy to get past, CPU QBs break half their sacks. Other than that it's got a solid foundation. 2K4 has better AI though.

Hell yeah!!! NFL 2K5 is the best football game and still is to this day imo. I remember going to EB Games in the summer of 2004 and buying ESPN NFL 2K5 for $19.99 brand new. With that being said, I haven't played NFL 2K5 in a few years but I recently just bought a copy off Ebay and I'm still waiting to get it in the mail so I can play it on my Xbox 360.
I recently just bought an OG Xbox for nostalgia sake. Got madden 05-07, and NFL 2K5 and MVP baseball 05. Yeah the graphics aren’t great but goddamn if the level of immersion and just how much stuff there is in the games. Glad to see 2K is back making Football games soon. Thanks Bengal for bringing this back.

that “odd split back” formation was the a primary offense of the 1980s and 90s lol. Maybe some high schools use it still. De La Salle in California is a very dominant program and has been using split backs for decades.

Although the whole game was awesome to me, probably my favorite feature (XBOX) was that you could have your own stadium music because of the hard drive. When each game started and the camera panned the stadium Ludacris's "Stand Up" would play on mine. I had other songs for different situations of the game too. I would be so hyped in my den! Haha great memories.

The half time shows are amazing and I never skip them. Sports center is even better. This game is amazing and it’s astonishing how much madden can’t even come close to competing with it. If 2k5 rereleased without a single change and was compatible with next gen consoles, it would put madden out of business.

I bought this game when it first came out and LOVED it for years. I still play this game all the time. The next Madden game I bought was Madden 09 which I hated and I continued to play this game. The next Madden I got was Madden 11 which was great. I still prefer this game over the recent Madden games. The halftime show and end of week wrap up shows are 100x better than anything Madden has done in years.
They dont like shorter contracts, you need to offer more money when you increase the length. The money number is total over the whole contract I'm pretty sure.

Congratulations. I’m bought a copy of 2K5 back in 2013 and I haven’t looked back since. I still play it on my backwards compatible PS3. It’s still better than all the new Maddens available on PS4.

You made me install this game after playing Madden 19 for two years on and off, thinking it's my only option (and 20 and 21 being just as bad). There are 2021 rosters for it even. It's actually really fun to play, the half time talk make sense, they actually talk about key plays... it's off the charts how good it is.
Not only that berman will recognize when you juked people. It’s nuts how good the game is. It knows when you throw into triple coverage. It keeps track of targets to a receiver. It keeps track of passing stats based on which zone you’ve thrown it in. It keeps track of running zone stats. It’s great.

My advice to you, stay in the pocket, run the ball. That’s the key. You can’t heave it up all the time, and throwing on the run or off your back foot almost never works. The pocket is key. It forms well if you have a good line, so you have to stay put and step up if you need to put some zip on it. Only a couple guys can roll out and throw on the run or scramble well. Vick, Aaron Brooks are the 2 best if I remember correctly.
You know what I see with this and having Madden 22. The character physics and logic is FAAAAAR superior in 2k5 than in Madden 22. This just looks MUCH better.

Rhodes in his prime was better than Ramsey, but when we are talking about today, Rhodes is shit and I hope, as a Vikings fan, he is cut or traded.
