0:37 That place is called Achadas Da Cruz, it's very beautiful for sure! 😁👍🏻 But please be careful swimming in the natural pools in Seixal, as they are quite dangerous when the sea is a little rough! 🌊🌊 I'm glad you enjoyed the North side of the Island, in terms of natural beauty it's definitely the best! Have a great Sunday! 🌞
We went to Madeira last november. I also fall in love with that Island. I am agree with you that Porto Moniz in the west was my favorite. I liked the natural pools and it was a great view. The small mountain Island west of Pirto Moniz is exciting. Do you know if there is some excursions with a boat to that Island from Porto Moniz.
The North is truly beautiful but it's much wetter so you may have to deal more with mold issues and its cooler so you need heating in the winter. You also need to consider that there is not a good variety of international restaurants, so you would always have to drive the about 40 Minutes to Funchal and I believe the nearest larger supermarket is in Santana. Being close to Funchal is also better when it comes to medical care as there are also private doctors and clinics and I would assume that it's easier to find an english speaking doctor in Funchal and its easier to get around in Funchal or its neighboring cities without a car by using public transport.
Haha don't mention mold; I'm already traumatised by the one in my pantry and storage room. Funchal definitely has a better variety of restaurants and amenities :)
Third lol! 🤣 Thanks for video! I stayed in Porto Moniz for a week last April so I definitely concur! Did you get a chance to visit the islets at Ribeira da Janela between Porto Moniz & Sexial? The food in Snack Bar Arco Iris (Seixal) was rather delish & modestly priced & the server had lived in London for much of his life. Up in the hills above on the edge of the actual village you'll find the famous swing with views overlooking the north coast facing east. Have an amazing week & my dear 🤗
Hahah! I will add Snack Bar Arco to the list of places to try :D. I missed the swing but will look out for it when next in the area. Thanks for the tip :)
Hey Troy, it's Achadas da Cruz. You will absolutely adore it but please be warned that wifi/4G doesn't really work down there - I was caught out by this :)
Thank you for the information. Where is possible to go with my doggy?to the Supermarket?to the Beaches? To the restaurant? To the bus? Rent a room with the dog? Where is really quiet place to live for a lone woman with the small dog? So many questions... Can I ask you for your email please?
Hey Ladic, I will try my best to answer this, but please be mindful that this is just my experience 😁. Supermarket: It depends of the size of your dog. If he/she is small and you can carry them then it’s not really an issue. However, I personally leave Philippe in the car when I need to shop, or go to a smaller shop, where I can have him sat at the entrance and keep an eye on him. Restaurants: I’ve found lots of restaurants here are dog friendly and have a list of some that are very accommodating (will make a video on this) Beaches: The rule is that dogs are allowed at non sandy beaches. However, my experience is that dogs can be found at ALL beaches, so please do not worry about this. Buses: I have not yet taken the bus in Madeira, but my understanding is that they are allowed on. Hope this helped and you can email me on pheepsheep@gmail.com
Great video. Madeira is amazing.
Couldn't agree more!

Will you be returning to the island? I'm unaware of any excursions from Porto Moniz but know of a good one from Canical
