It's crazy about this modpack how it's so different how different people do things. There are so many thing I saw in this video I didn't even know existed and how everything looks so different in my base
This is by far my favorite mod pack just hit 230 hours myself, and got to mid HV. Think I am about to take a very long detour into Thaumcraft and Bees to add some different loops to play while I wait to progress toward my very First Rocket. haven't watched all your episodes yet but has been a fun journey so far, can't wait to see were you go in the future with this pack.
Your pace in GNTH really depends on your experience and more importantly, how you play. I have about a year of Gregtech experience at this point, my greatest accomplishment propably being a creative tank in Nomi in about 150 hours. I got to early IV in 200 hours my first time playing GTNH, but I didn't invest in AE2 at all and just kinda sped run to get there. I didn't even care about base design much, as I just kinda made a large cobblestone shack. You always seem to really want to explore how things work in the game, while I just kinda leave things be if they work. I'm now on my second serious run, currently just made two EBFs after about 30 hours. Nomifactory is such a great pack, I propably started over in that pack aswell as in Omnifactory and the CEu port a good 20 times at this point. I've recently fell in love with GTNH at how polished and expansive it's gameplay is. While Nomi was a really good time, GTNH really is the last pack you'll ever need, as they say. I learned a bit about magic thanks to it, for the first time I understood Thaumcraft research. I also learned how to generate power using native GT options, as Nomi, at least the original pack, only uses power from other mods. I also think that GTNH has a kind of nostalgia aspect to it. It has all the cool old school mods while staying fresh, with a truck load of QoL thanks to the devs. Playing 1.7.10 Minecraft survival is something you don't get to do much anymore. GTNH also runs really well, considering it has over 300 mods... I come from a Hypixel background, so going from H. Skyblock to Gregtech was a pretty logical step lol. I think that GTNH is not an experience for everyone, but if it is for you, you're gonna love it! Thanks for listening to my Ted talk Update: I got to the Moon now again. 75 hours in
This sounds about right. In Factorio, I am doing a Pyranodon, Randomized Properties and Recipes, and Exponential Research run. After 25 hours so far, I have finally unlocked research pack 2 out of 11. That is just the beginning. I haven't played GTNH recently due to work and playing other games.
GTNH is such an awesome pack, I have hit LV just last night (It's my third attempt, dropped attempt 1 because my pc was not strong enough, attempt 2 died when my PSU failed and took the NVMe with it, now I have a paid hosting so it even runs in the background) and I am a lot more prepared in regards of power, resources and base building
I played a little under 100 hours of GTNH almost a year ago but due to school and life I just had no time to play. I am now on a medical gap year so I have a lot of time just sitting around. So Im going to try and get into GTNH again. Definitely restarting and very excited to really dive in deep. The modpack seems amazing and like the best rounded modpack with there just being so much content.
I started over 5 years ago and I got up to hv before I lost my world after 1 and a half years. I lost so much I couldn't bring myself to play for a while but with all the improvements and updates and my girls encouragement I've gotten to MV in a few months and I'm planning a restart on 2.7.0 when it releases
you can use curse forge. its up to date, its not gonna cause problems, it's just got a bad rep cause it's bad for modders and technical users, but for your average joe it'll be like anything else
This is bad advice. Yes its up to date, but curse forge is terrible to use for a variety of reasons. I mean the simplest one is that curse & overwolf are horribly bloated, and having something like multimc or prism are just better programs. Also, as GTNH is updated regularly, curse is often not playing nice with it, so again, your advice is bad, because it IS going to cause problems sometimes. There's really no reason to use curse. It takes like 5 or 10 minutes to get prism.
@@Krydax8oops ! I didn’t know that and have been using curse forge for a while for all my modpacks, what should I do ? Is there a way to switch to prism launcher?
I'm still at steam age, just got to the nether. Now play got paused as I used charcoal blocks in PBF to get steel - that's more steel for less charcoal, but requires one IRL hour. So I'm building giant ore berry farms meanwhile. Then will switch to building more PBF After some gtnh play Nomi feels too easy where it should not be. Gtnh feels complicated (and not always in a good way). I wish there were modpack between them, but so far if I get tired/annoyed with one, I switch to other. I also enabled sethome+home commands, because needing dozens of food make any journey unrewarding.
> I wish there were modpack between them well do i have the modpack for you, ftb interactions remastered released a few weeks ago and it's easier gtnh, on 1.12, highly recommend giving it a shot
I don't remember the name but it's the glasses/goggles. The quest book guides you to them somewhere. They're not super hard to get. Maybe holo glasses? Can't remember haha.
Honestly, the healing axe quest isnt that bad if you can access the nether early and macerate the bone spike structures. The large segments can give 24 bone meal and the mediums (which are the most common) give 12 a piece
@@azteccrov6113 if the goal is to learn automation stuff, I'd say start with a game in the genre, like Factorio or Satisfactory. However, if they're already obsessed with minecraft, an easy minecraft pack could be a good introduction too.
Man, I really want to start playing GTNH but i really don't understand anything about tech and automation mods so I think I'll only get stuck reading the wiki for hours and hors and then just dropping it.
Gtnh has a great quest book that will guide you through the first tears very well. And by the point where you realy need to go for big automatisation setups you should have a pretty good idea how it works. I personaly havent played any gregtech based modpacke before but I stll had no problem getting into the pack while barely using the wiki. And if you find your self strugling the gtnh Wiki is realy good and the offiziel gtnh discord server is great. Especially if you have questions around earlier tiers they will probably help you within a few min.
Star tech gets grindy later, But I agree It is very very fun but I’ve been thinking about starting GT:NH as a side project since the end of startech (Zpm is the beginning of the end, constructing the stargate is where it gets real slow)
I personally would only recommend GTNH to someone i hate and despise with a passion. As someone with several hundred hours in this pack, I would only recommend GTNH as a form of torture to waste someones life.
@Krydax Definitely Prism is the best. And with Angelica coming, you'll get most of the modern shaders in this 1.7 version as well as new steam multiblocks... This mudpack is so great...

@@ShadeLightTheory yeah. I'm really excited to try bees at some point. And will return to gtnh certainly!

and if you are willing to go back to skyblock again, GTNH can be completed fully in a skyblock world (look for "garden of grind")

ok, i am finally sold on playing this modpack, been on the edge for a while now
This was a really cool overview. Will definitely give your long series a look

Thanks!

I mean you can play however you want but the food problem is solved early with the healing axe. It's not as hard as you think.
To get an in between I recommend E2E, I’ve heard that E2EE is good too but I haven’t played yet
> I wish there were modpack between them
well do i have the modpack for you, ftb interactions remastered released a few weeks ago and it's easier gtnh, on 1.12, highly recommend giving it a shot
How do you have the liquid & item showing from pipes & chests?
I don't remember the name but it's the glasses/goggles. The quest book guides you to them somewhere. They're not super hard to get. Maybe holo glasses? Can't remember haha.
I started and quit this modpack twice. 3rd time I cheated in a healing axe at the start to skip early game grind and had way more fun.
Yeah the healing axe is a pretty big project. I enjoyed it the first time around but next time it might be less enjoyable
Honestly, the healing axe quest isnt that bad if you can access the nether early and macerate the bone spike structures. The large segments can give 24 bone meal and the mediums (which are the most common) give 12 a piece
Every time they make the early game 3 tines easier, they make lategame 45 times harder.
I have a question
Would you rather recommend anewbie to automation: some easy Minecraft modpack or some automation game (Factorio)?

I would play something like FTB Academy to get started.
are you gonna do more modpacks in the future?
Probably! I get the minecraft itch from time to time. And gtnh was awesome so I'll probably just try gtnh again, unless another pack looks really fun.
well, i'll stick to more modern packs though, playing thoug Star technogly right now. it feel nice

not even ae2 didnt even land yet
