Guys,The reason why they extended express to the Newry Branch is because they wanted to put cross-country railway theme to the game.And the map just looked like a spaghetti I don't know what the fûck they did with the map in v1.9.

The reason why Express possibly being extended to Newry in Version 1.9
Firstly, Stepford Express, is actually not a high speed rail, its actually an INTERCITY rail operator, meaning Express possible's hub is at Llyn-by-the-Sea and Leighton City, and also because of rolling stocks are predominantly used for InterCity and long-haul service
(thats my possible reason so throw your own opinion/reason)

Speaking of your comment, some HSR do go on regular lines. The Mini Shinkanshen is an upgrade on regular lines (which are in narrow gauge) to standard guage to run Shinkanshen trains there but they are limited to 160 kph to give way with the slower regular line trains.
