Love it. It's got a groove I'll be dancing to forever. I eagerly anticipate the new album. I've seen a few new songs live over the past couple of years and liked every one of them. I last saw them live in Chicago-Dec 2018. They were better than ever. I loved the new song they played at that show. These guys are phenomenal live. Please come to Milwaukee and Chicago and anywhere near us for the Springtime. Yee Haw!

It's amazing to see how many people in the company, though not enjoying this song and the new path they took, are still supportive of the band and willing to give the album a try. It's a rare reaction and it shows how this band has attracted positive and kind listeners :)
That's how I felt about the last album and this one. I am a bit disappointed they're going a more pop route but I understand it and hope they succeed.

I heard this song on a commericial on the radio. I wrote the lyrics down and looked them up. Glad we were on the radio station at that moment, I might’ve missed a great song!

@@katiegomes964 I recently watched an interview he did last year about taking a break for a couple years but he still seems very connected to the band so hopefully there is a good chance that he will come back unless he has said otherwise since that interview.
So I heard this song in the radio today, I was like, what band is this? I got some TOTO vibes when I heard it. I really like the hook and the tune of this song tbh, I misheard the lyrics and typed the in the notes of my iPhone "From a misconnection"
I tried so hard to google it, there were some wrong results came up, but then I found the song, so sad that it hasn't had the exposure it might need, it's so underrated.

Not quite sure how I feel about this song. I love The Head and the Heart for their soulful and acoustic vibes. I hope the new album has a balance of new and old.

I fell in love with this band because of their folk acoustic feel. The pop stuff is meh. Mostly listen to their older stuff. Now there was a band!

One could argue that they had quite the pop sound in a lot of those songs and earlier albums, but I do agree that I don’t care for this song.
If this is the direction they want to go in, then great. But count me out.
Furthermore- what were they thinking with the recording technique of this track? It’s extremely disconnected (no pun intended) from the listener and it’s difficult to discern the instruments.
@@Mkbevington I agree their older stuff did have that pop sound but it was mild compared to the direction they're going. They're sounding so mainstream now. No bueno.
I agree, the 3-part harmonies made them an awesome band, then Josiah left and their new stuff is meh.
Danny Vue I have no qualms with wanting to be mainstream, so long as a band identifies as a roots-driven folk band, and plays according to the boundaries of that genre. If it were pushing the boundaries or morphing them ala experimental folk, that’s cool too. And even if they want to shift gears and say, “well we’re no longer xyz, were evolving to a more progressive sound” then again- that’s fine too. (Not for me, but I get it) Labels and genres are annoying but they are helpful. They allow a listener to say- “hey- I like that kind of music.”
But this track is none of those things.
It’s like five people wanted to make a hit song and nobody could agree on what to do so they each said “yes” instead of “no.”
Music is subjective but this just falls flat. Here’s hoping it’s a transition to something better.
@@Mkbevington yes I see what you're saying. When rhythm and blues came out I wasnt such a fan but now I love that song. Let's see what they can bring. Anyways I highly recommend checking out Barr Brothers. Overtook this band as my favorite. :)

I love you guys but this track is all over the place, from the writing to the mixing. I’m sure the need to grow and change directions probably plays a factor in your music’s sound lately, but this is just messy pop at this point. I don’t feel the passion or the roots anymore. I just don’t want you guys to forget where you came from or why you and all your fans fell in love with your music. Well written folk with beautiful harmonies and passionate lyrics, which created a one of a kind sound we could only get from The Head And The Heart. I will always be a huge fan and support you guys but please don’t let this continue forever. I don’t want the folk or harmonies to die.

Melissa KBK same. They’ve changed bit by bit. I hate to be one of those fans who miss the “old” THATH, but I feel like it was their best sound. This sounds... generic. But I’d love to listen to the rest and give it a try.
Shhhhh...just close your eyes & allow yourself get lost in the flow. You'll feel it when you get out of your head & into your heart. Don't think about it all so much....there's something that whispers to the soul. That's what really matters.
How to do certain things
It would be fine if it were- one can still compose a great folk song and record it clean and tight, but this just gets lost in translation and leaves me without a provocative thought behind it- let alone something pleasant.
I feel like the songwriting is still there- but only from a lyrical perspective.
