@@dwightrich9583 my thoughts were the same before I started using them. Custom rods are expensive no doubt. Some custom rods cost more than others. If you want the best components with the finest craftsmanship then Radcliffe is the way to go.
Nope especially when you can build your own for about $20 in supplies and the parts from the broken rods i know most of us have in our garage seriously i haven't bought a ice rod in 30yrs
The Hummingbird units can be used year round for ice and boat. I have a marcum flasher that I use occasionally. Traditional sonar gives a better picture of how the fish are reacting but both sonar and flashers are effective.
I've enjoyed your channel for a while now. But Niki has add a entertaining part to the videos. Keep up the great work.
@@markeggert4535 thank you! We hope to do more videos together moving forward.
Great video, it’s great to see Niki out on the ice with you lance. She is definitely the fish whisperer!!!
@@zach132Pel11 thank you! Being new to ice fishing Niki has been a very quick study.
Could never bring myself to pay $180 for a jig pole 😮

I see you use traditional sonar instead of a vex. What's your reasoning?

@AnglerX thx for the reply. I have a similar garmin unit for ice and boat and have wondered if I'm missing something not having a flasher
@@ryanoleston7136 flashers have less delay but not enough to make a difference.
