Of course, the Rani's companion (played by Samuel West) was unnamed on screen and for years went by the fan appellation "Shagg". Because she must've recruited him for a reason.
I remember watching this, I would have been 9 at the time, and not a Who fan. But I loved it. I got it now on DVD, in the box alongside the better CiN special, Curse of the Fatal Death, and love watching it every so often.
I still don't understand why Tom demanded that a question mark to be painted onto his right cheek. It's as odd a moment as when Jeremy Brett proudly showed off his new earring on Breakfast TV. Mid-life crisis?
I was so excited in 1993 about this special. I remember getting my glasses and so looking forward to it. Did the plot make sense - no. Was it a weird pastiche of doctors, companions and monsters - absolutely. Was the East Enders crossover a blatant attempt to grab ever more viewers - of course. Still, I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable and that 2013 was very far in the future!! It only left me wanting more new Doctor Who. It was the last time Pertwee played the role on screen, and perhaps will also prove to be the last on screen time for several of the other doctors unless the reboot brings them back for a multi-who story. It’s a bit difficult now the actors are 30+ years older then when they started on the show though
1:56 Isn't this a scene from the final episode of The Web Planet where the TARDIS crew and the Menopetra all get brought to the Animus's lair.? PRAPILLUS: Light! ANIMUS: All of you. HLYNIA: Light! Light! Light! PRAPILLUS: No, Hlynia, not this light! It is evil.
Have just done some comic doctor who artwork, with your passion for the show, I wouldve let you have it. Let’s face it, Red Dwarf went to Coronation Street, and least said the better
This video made me laugh my ass off! It also made me do something that I never thought I'd ever do: appreciate Dimensions in Time. I always thought of it as a nightmare that would never go away. Now if you can do that with "Doctor in Distress" that would be a miracle.
Fairly bad but was great to see so many people and monsters from the show. Looking at it now, kind of looks like something written by AI, even tho that didn't exist then. Kind of makes me wonder if you could get a script and get AI to rewrite it, what it would come up with....😂 Great video, all the best all
And thanks to this video and you showing the same scenes multiple times over, I have found the most hilarious moment of this special: It's the scene where this monster pops up behind the trash cans when the 5th Doctor runs away and stands there dissapointed that it did not managed to grab him.
I dont understand why they used lesser EastEnders characters for the Vote. I mean put up both mitchell brothers against each other and have whichever one wins Knock out Rani's friend would have raised more cash i reckon
I agree that DiT is absolutely canon. In fact, I wrote a fanfic over ten years ago about how to reconcile this with that other debated minisode A Fix with Sontarans. Obviously, the latter has been horribly tainted since, but I wrote this before all that came out. I hope you don't mind me sharing the story here, and I hope you enjoy it. www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=36819
Best review of that episode, which should be called "Doctor Who Does Dubstep". 😏 I actually enjoy this one, despite it being a mess, and after reading The Dark Dimension, it's for the best we got the gherkins instead. And if scifi wasn't popular, so many tuning into the DW segment was a good sign. Mrs Brahams in Eastenders... wish the other cast to Are You Being Served did Eastenders... Also, 5:40 is my new ringtone 😁 better than 14:14 🤣
0:32 Ok I definitely made the correct choice when I subscribed to you.
"after the oldest question is asked" lmao
The most iconic line has to be "Madam, what year ith thith?"

Funny thing. Pauline Fowler is in the 2013 segment of the episode except on Eastenders she died in 2006 and the actress died 3 years later.

Where can I get curse of fatal death DVD
@@chasetheskies Wish I could help you. The copy I got is a burned dvd, and I found the box art online.
@@Turialim Where u get yours? I got DIT like that, plus fan reconstructions of missing episodes

I voted for Big Ron

3:19 "This" before Fifi was out of the Ultimate Adventure stageplay and was a good guy monster originally in the play.
Is it possible this is a lot like the minds eye of The Doctor after he regenerates? It would explain a lot of the post regeneration confusion.

Unless you count Pertwee's appearance in devious (part of which is on the War Games DVD as an extra).
WHAT YEAR IS THIS?!!!!!

"SIIIIIL"
I like Dimensions in Time
The only "EastEnders" characters I know are Whitney Dean and Tony King.
I reckon Cyrian was actually Syrian and from Syria. Like "Spaniard" the pirate in The Smugglers from 1966.
"Syrian eh? he could cheer up, he looks a bit ASSAD!"
"Why, do you like to bash a Assad?"
When you said goddamit big Ron spent 36 pence on you man I was laughing so much I fell on the foor

Wendy Richards would not make it to 2013 sadly.

Dimensions in Time: The best argument made for why classic Who probably deserved to be cancelled.
