I had a 2016 Fit RS, and now I have a Suzuki, so having been an owner of both, I'm not surprised by the result. Hondas are much better engineered compared to Suzukis. The lack of NVH, and the mechanical grip of the Honda is far superior to the Suzuki. Dynamics aside, the Honda had better thought/engineering behind how things operate. For instance the Start/Stop button of the Honda is always illuminated once the driver's door is open and when the engine is running, so when turning off the engine at night in the dark, you can see where the button is. With the Suzuki, once you start the engine, the illumination switches off unless the headlights are on. So when parking at night in the dark, if you switch off your headlights before turning the engine off (which is what most people do), you cannot see the button at all.
Then there are other things like when all doors are locked, you can just pull the inside door release on the Honda and it'll unlock that door so you can get out. On the Suzuki, you have to first unlock using the central lock button or the lock of that individual door, then pull the door release to open the door.
Overall I'm happy with Suzuki, but Honda is just better

I have a feeling the Fit/Jazz has a "declared" power of 132ps , it might well have more than that, as it has happened many times with Japanese cars, a 1.5 DOHC Vtec with direct injection could have 10 more than its declared power no question.
I have a 2012 fit 5 speed and i managed to beat my friend in his 2007 civic si to 60 off a traffic light so these are definitely peppy little cars.
VTEC makes a Big Difference

The presence of V-Tec doesn't explain the outcome, V-Tec may change how the power is delivered, but it doesn't change how much there is. As Scotty used to say in Star Trek, "Ye canna change the laws of physics"!. According to the figures, the Fit is heavier than the Swift has less power and torque, so the Fit shouldn't have won. That it did suggests either or both of two factors;
1, The handling/roadholding of the Fit was superior to the Swift to the extent that it alone overcame the power and torque deficit. This seems unlikely though, as the Swift was not closing up along the straights.
2, The power to weight ratio of the Fit was better than the Swift. And the only way that could be the case is if the Fit has more power and/or less weight than is stated, or the Swift has less power and/or more weight than is stated!

Would of loved to see the older 07 fit sport/Jazz...it sure was slow in acceleration but they could turn corners faster then most cars.
I love both cars, I own a 2016 Honda Fit Hybrid, I'm not surprised, you put that thing in sport mode and it just flies.
As though they were both untuned production cars with approved roadworthiness compliance, as though we expect every vehicles whether casual sleepers or sports class cars with absolute untuned or precustomised production cars with needs approved roadworthiness compliance are presently race here,
roadworthy cars are the total compliance in production mode to avoid any liabilities on the road whilst the racetuned one were incapable to be conforms its normal functions thus it ended suitable for racetrack only

This amuses me greatly!. I used to have a Jazz (what the Fit is called in the UK) which I found highly entertaining on the twisty country roads around where I live in Scotland. But in this country, the Jazz is very much derided by the motoring press as a boring old persons car, so it is nice to see proof that it is far more competant than most would think. By contrast, the Swift (Sport) was loved by the motoring press as being a brilliant 'junior' hot hatchback. The RS never made it to the UK, but we did have a 1.5 Sport for a short time (wasn't very popular with buyers, possibly because of the image of being an old persons car) which I'm guessing used the same engine. Our car was just the 1.3 with the CVT, but I thought it a brilliant match between engine and transmission, the CVT always able to make maximum use of what power the engine had.
Ah yes, that CVT is why motoring journo's don't like it. Put in a proper manual and they'd give it a tick of approval
@@joebloggs830 Not really. While it is true motoring journalists (in the UK anyway, not sure about other countries?) seem to hate the CVT with a passion, they don't really like the Jazz full stop. There are a few exceptions, but mainstream publications like Autocar, Car, Top Gear, Auto Express and What Car consider the Jazz, at best, worthy and reliable but very dull. As such, it is never going to win a group test. Honest John was one of the few going against the grain by rating the Jazz very highly in all areas, including the CVT. Having driven one for three years, not only do I really not understand the negativity (assuming the critic has actually driven one, I have my doubts), the stepped CVT7 is brilliant and personally I'd have one any day before an overly complex, often fragile (especially the dry clutch type) DCT auto.

When you drive something in isolation, of course it becomes "best in class". This is true for anyone, they see the charm of their own car and can't compare.
But a CVT vs an Auto? You can have them both - I'm a Manual driver!
@@joebloggs830When it comes to maximising interior space relative to the size of the car, the flexibility of that space, and reliability, the Jazz is the best car in its class!. But that isn't what the motoring press (in general) is interested in. What they want is showroom appeal and soft touch plastics. I'm not suggesting that the Jazz was faultless because it wasn't.
FYI, An auto is a car in which you don't have to change gear, i.e, a CVT is an auto.
And I'm also a manual driver thanks to the van I use for my work, and indeed most of the vehicles I've ever owned have been manual. Given the choice now though?, (assuming it isn't a single or dual clutch automated manual) auto all day long.
uk version have different suspension setup, rs version have more sportier handling.

As I Jazz owner and with 1 lakh plus kilometers with it , I observed , it easily beats Swift , i20 , Baleno , Nexon, Etios , Figo , had a little difficult time with the Polo , everyone thinks , Fit or Jazz is Big body Car and a small engine but with a 1500 CC Engine with good traction and torque it has a good pick up , with a very spacious cabin with a " CUP 🥤 Holder " at the AC Vent a unique feature which most of the cars doesn't have , makes it a good car with a great mileage.
Big car with small engine are Toyota NA 1.3L for MPV with 7 seater.

Shame that this is was the last Honda Jazz with a N/A 1.5 engine here in Europe. The new Jazz has a 1.5 hybrid engine and only auto gearbox, and doesn't look "sporty" at all...

Im Indian, I have a suzuki swift that's FF SOHC 1.2 L with only 75 horses. The same body and make as this one, same dash same AC vents everything ditto, but the engine is awfully downgraded for mileage.

土屋さんはFFの場合、サイドちょい引き戦法をよく使うけど、フロントの姿勢作りはしやすいものの車速はその分落ちるからトータルで遅い気がする。
ブレーキングと荷重移動だけで後輪をブレイクさせて向き変えられるのが理想だけど、純正はアンダーセッティングだから難しいんだろうなぁ。。

I am not surprised, the vtech & the unknown to the general Jazz, has a racing car frame that has exceptional turning ratio, I bought 2005 GD3 in 2017, for $700 with 270,000km on it, I put a performance clutch+intake+performance disc rotors, added 10-15hlp, I am beating most cars on the road with filling up for $40 getting 400km, don’t need a Tesla or any electric, buy a Honda.
