    Both are gorgeous. IF I had to choose, I'd go with the A350. There's something about the wings... Beautiful.

    They are both simply examples of the state of modern aviation art, no different than smart phones etc. And like any other technology, they will inevitably look similar in design inside and out. This is especially true in a globalized world where different manufacturers share suppliers. Personally I love them both and look forward to seeing new Airbus and Boeing aircraft side by side at the gates of the world. I am only sad to see the older favorites disappearing. At least some see continued life as freighters or with startup airlines.

  • @spenceredwards5817

    both are amazing planes. I love the boxy and blended feel of the A350, yet I also admire the amount of advances that the 787 has made. Still though, hearing the media compare these two seems a bit odd. The 787 seems to be a downsized Triple seven, while the A350 is a whole new breed of Airbus. Of course, in some areas, each one flourishes. and saying that one is bad for fuel economy or size is a very stubborn comment.
    But anyways, go Boeing and Airbus! a little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone.

    Airbus rules.... Looks cleaner.... Rotation from flight to landing attitude (flair) looked good... touchdown vertical speed was excellent and the takeoff rotation from weight on wheels to weight on wings looked like a smoother transition..... After wheels up, the departure attitude just looked better than the "bent wing" Boeing...

      Don't know where you're getting your info from, aviatic... I've flown the B-737/300 and 400 series, the B-757/200 and the B-767/200 series in which I have a Type Rating (est about 10,000 hours total time in Boeing acft as a F/O. I'm typed in the Airbus A-320 as Capt( which includes the 319/320/321 models) of which I have about 3,000 hours.... Can speak from experience and not wishful political ideas that the Airbus is a preference from a performance point of view as well as a passenger acceptance point of view.... Also would ask to keep your language a little cleaner....

    • @FLAviation
      @FLAviation 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don't understand why people become so mean about aircraft companies? You all feel the need to defend the honor of Boeing or Airbus. aviatic i don't understand why you would use the term brainwashed, and "F*** you airbus" What have they done to warrant such harsh words? How is airbus brainwashing people? Gordon McCoy, You are criticizing the flair of the Boeing and saying the airbus is better, but how would the airplane have anything to do with that? The pilot is the one flying and manipulation the controls so of course they look different. Unless you have the auto land engaged, its hit or miss, and even with the auto land engaged the plane will always land flat. The bent wing comment i really don't get. The wing on the 787 is produced like that to get better performance and a better thrust to lift ratio. Chances are most of you have not even flown on either aircraft. Ive been on the Norwegian 787 out of Orlando and it was a very pleasant ride, and I'm sure if i rode on the A350 i would like it as well. In general every aircraft has flaws, the 787 batteries were bad and airbus has had its fair share of issues. the A350 is not even in service, so how would any of you know about how great it is and how much better it is than anything else. Vlado S, I don't understand how the Norwegian 787 looks like a penis, please explain this.

    I love both they are both amazing even though i do prefer A350 for its look, and for having a slight edge on the dreamliner on several technical points (love the name though). It's a shame 787 had those battery issues, i love both Boeing and Airbus, they make amazing aircraft. The one big thing i don't like about airbus is the side stick.

    Actually, there's not a very clear choice between these two aircrafts, both manufacturers have milestones on their own, people saying that boeing is crap/ airbus is crap, they're all wrong anyway, building an entire airplane from scratch is not like building a toy with legos, all planes have their own process and both and all another coming planes need to get through hell to get on the line of production, both planes will fight for a position in the aircraft industry. . . and im not on side of anyone, just my way to think this "battles", for my personal taste, both planes are beautifull, the only fact that will be important is, how the airlines work with each aircraft. . . greetings!

    Both aircraft are brilliant in their own ways. It all boils down to economics and individual airline needs and requirement. The best between the two is the one that meets the owners needs. After all the mixed fleet concept is the future in aviation hence the reason most major carriers have ordered both.

    Bueno JuanSi bien es cierto que hay muchas similitudes entre el 787 y el A350, Airbus de nuevo ha adelantado a Boeing como viene haciendo desde el A320.Te recuerdo que fue el primer avión con estructura primaria de composites y el fly by wire,después copio el 777. De nuevo adelantó Airbus a Boeing al hacer el HTP deposito integral de combustible, a continuación en el A380 introdujo por primera vez en un avión comercial de mas de 100 plazas el fuselaje de composites en las secciones 19 y 19.1.A continuación el 787 introdujo un 49% de composite en peso y de nuevo Airbus en el A350 adelantó a Boeing con un 53% en peso además de otras ventajas en la aerodinámica.He tenido la suerte de haber participado en todos los desarrollos.En cuanto al idioma de la misma forma que yo he aprendido el Ingles los demás deberían de aprender español.

    For all the people who say airbus loves copying boeing. Answer this question.
    Who invented the world's first wide-body twin-engine aircraft?

    • @Avionicx
      @Avionicx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      TheMDGamer airbus's A300 and A310 didn't have the range to to ULH (ultra long haul) routes. The 747 and 767 can do those routes and they were the first wide body jets to do so. So the question isn't who made the first one, but who made the first successful one. That goes to boeing.

    • @fjfell5979
      @fjfell5979 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lets look at the facts.
      B747 first flight 1969, service entry 1970. 1500 built to date.
      DC 10 first flight August 1970, 360 passengers 446 built.
      Lockheed 1011 first flight November 1970, 250 passengers, used Rolls-Royce engines, had fly by wire components and had full flight auto pilot from take off to landing capability.. (gee sound familiar?) 250 built.
      Airbus. Conceived on 300 project 1967. Officially formed as a company july 1969. A300 first flight October 1972, 250 passengers. service start 1974, 561 built. Use GE and P&W engines. Mid range
      Boeing. Builds to market demand. B767 -passengers 200-360, long range. first flight 1981,1100 built to date.
      Aircraft development is incremental but in most cases to date, technological innovations appear elsewhere before appearing in Airbus products. A300 was designed separately and in parallel with similar north american products. The similarity between A300 and Lockhead 1011 in size and technology is remarkable. This niche was filled so Boeing had no incentive to build a competitor until longer range requirements appeared.

    My humble opinion is that the 787 is a most beautiful bird. The nose looks very much like the late 40s deHavilland Comet look (and a tiny bit bullet train). The windscreen has a bit of auto racing helmet feel. I wonder if they intentionally designed the nose to look like the Comet or it's strictly functional. Since it isn't notched like most aircraft are, it must create less drag. The wings are spectacular with their curved tips and their amazing upward bend when the plane is in flight. It's the prettiest commercial aircraft since the Connie, in my humble opinion, of course.

    I am yet to travel on an A350, probably in December this year en route to Boston, but I did travel on a B787 and the experience was amazing. Best economy seat on KLM. But most of all the innovative air cabin, from the back and not from the engine, diminishes air dryness and it's a huge improvement for in-flight comfort. Not sure if A350 has the same innovation.

  • @comanche180

    I haven't flown the A350 yet but I suspect it is an outstanding airplane in terms of passenger comfort. The 787 was a major engineering achievement, that laid the groundwork for aircraft to come. The A350, while also a good aircraft, was simply a knee-jerk reaction to Boeing. The '87, despite it's problems, is by far the more innovative aircraft. Airbus played it safe, and in the long run it's going to cost them.

      Well actually in the world of business. It doesn't matter how innovative you are if someone else has the better product. Airbus played it well and waited for the 787 so that they could release a better aircraft which actually has similar passenger capabilities as the 777 does but with greater fuel efficiency

    • @MooseKicks1066
      @MooseKicks1066 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a better aircraft. The market sure isn't receiving it that way. They 777 is still the kingpin of that share of the market, while the shorter and more efficient 787 is starting to dominate the asian market for both regional and international. My point about the 787 is that it's leading a whole new generation of aircraft - and boeing got the jump on it, and it could play out very well for them by the time the 777-x rolls out. Not to say the A350 is a bad aircraft by any means, and it may yet outsell the 787. Only time will tell.

As a matter of fact the delays and problems, even fire, on first batch is the price you pay when you push the envelop and rise the bar .... anyone saying airbus is a crap should shut up, as everybody knows airbus is a formidable contender, leading composite manufacturing, just to mention one, but boeing really leans forward with the dreamliner. this is not a remake, this is a totally new airplane where all, wings, electrical, efficiency, structure, electronics , etc etc etc was designed from scratch despite a huge cost. i really like the airplane.

(remember ??) being an advance aircraft, you may expect this kind of issues. Same as cracks on the full composite parts of the A380 and some engine troubles ... it is natural to have issues on so innovative models. The whole point of the video is to compare. Comparing is not saying "Airbus is better" or "If it's not boeing, I'm not going". Comparing is saying "The A350 has larger winglets than the 787" or "The 787's wings bend up more than the A350's wings". They are both good planes. Why? Because they, both, are in production and have been bought by airliners and are being used today. I like both the 787 and the A350, and if I had to choose one, I wouldn't. But fanboys and fangirls will be fans, so I just wanted to make a point.

      yann Cruz but just look at the design of both aircraft,they look pretty similar

      Jaydn Wright yes, but these are the differences beetween both aircraft: different engines, different wing designs, different carbon composites, different flight systems (check out the ailerons on the airbus, they have 5 parts instead of 1 in boeing), different cockpits, different possible seat configuration, different range, different speed and different "models" (the 787 is an entirely new concept, while the a350 is an aircraft based on the a380 concept made to replace the a330) however on the first impresion they look similar, that's true, but that's just because they are rivals for the twin engine 300 seater market, it didnt matter if it is "copied" or not, it was always going to look similar...

      The 787 sucks so bad that in a 3-3-3, you will be stuck in hell

    Hard to choose. I am leaning towards the Boeing 787. Great video! Nice close ups.
