Most articulate and level headed I've seen lando.
He's always been smart, articulate and level headed - it's just that he was younger once.
I'm a big fan of lando his a really good young driver and he's incredibly articulate articulate along with being very humble. Lando will win a championship at some point Redbull will have a bad season some time. If they have a good engine car, engineers and drivers who can find consistency speed reliability and luck at every race they could definitely do really well.

I think it's pretty clear that Lando sees potential at McLaren, nothing is guaranteed elsewhere, and he would cement himself quite the legacy if he's able to be the person who brought McLaren another championship after so long. Win/win for him.

this guy just keeps on giving mclaren reasons to remember why signing him was an absolute boss move. Skilled, humble, loyal. I mean the racing team had to do their part and give him a car, and halfway through last season they did it, so gave the guy an easy choice. Mclaren fans are celebrating like we just won a world title. Because he's a joy to support
Best option really for Lando. Verstappen is top dog at Red Bull, Leclerc at Ferrari, Hamilton/ Russell at Mercedes.
So Norris's best bet is McLaren continue to improve, the only worry is that McLaren havent got a works engine deal.
Yeah but with mclaren's new contract with Mercedes engine until 2030, Zak said that they would also have a say and some involvement in the development of the engine. So it is closer to a partnership now, rather than customer team.

Also no guarantee Mercedes will produce the best engine under the new rules- Red Bull(Ford) Honda, and incoming Audi moght do better.
McLaren look in good shape Aero wise, but the engine is a question mark.
@@Nick_1072 You people give way too much focus on the engine. 70% of the performance in a F1 car comes from the *chassis* . A great engine won't transform a lousy chassis into a winner. At best it will help on circuits with long straights. Williams had the best engine in the BMW V10 during the early 00's. Unfortunately for them the chassis wasn't quite up to the task of harnessing that power. In qualifying Montoya put them on pole as many times as Schumacher did with the Ferrari. But in the races...
The Mercedes V8 and Ferrari V8 were both more powerful than the Renault V8 during the early 2010's. But nobody told Red Bull that did they? Pardon my sarcasm. Newey's brilliant blown-diffuser design won them 4 straight titles.
I also believe the Mercedes parent company will be too bothered by McLaren winning the titles rather than Mercedes themselves. Why? Because they can still use the "powered by Mercedes" in their commercials to sell more cars.

Ferrari didn't need the best engine during the final days of the V10 era to dominate. Both BMW and Honda (and Mercedes probably) had more power. Alas neither Williams nor BAR nor McLaren could compete with Ferrari during the days of unlimited testing.
Red Bull had the Renault V8 during the final years of 2,4 liter V8's. It wasn't the power or the fantastic qualities of the Renault V8 which won them 4 straight drivers´ and another 4 straight constructors' titles.
And given Mercedes' great record it's fair to say their power unit will be *good enough* even if it's not the best.
Newey is the man behind Red Bull's two separate era of dominance, not Sebastian Vettel or Max Verstappen.
Any team that wants to win has to get the *aero* right first and foremost.
@@McLarenMercedes fair points, but you do need a decent engine as well, look at the start of the Hybrid era, Red Bull had the best aero, but were well beaten by Mercedes with a better Engine.
Also look at Mclaren, said to have one of the best aero packages but the 'GP 2' Honda engine.
When the next engine regulations come up lets hope Mercedes produce a good one and play fair with the customer squads like McLaren.
@@Nick_1072 Regs were changed in 2018, forcing manufacturers to give customers the same engine specs and maps. Merc would be in breach of the regulations if they withheld any upgrades or engine maps. It is covered under 17.5.4 of the technical regulations.
The only real issue remaining with being an engine customer is that you do not have as much influence over the shape of the package, but this is exactly what McLaren has seemingly moved to eliminate/mitigate in their new deal with Mercedes.
Also, I agree with @McLarenMercedes that the impact of the engine is largely overstated, with the exception of Renault who are dogshit, there is not much difference between the different manufacturers.

I love Lando because he is honest, he has the confidence and ability to be world champion but lots of drivers do. As a max fan I would love to see a battle between them
Happy for Lando. He's proven to be a Top 5 driver on the grid and now has the car to win races. It's not a stretch to say this is the season he finally gets that P1, if not multiple P1s!
If Lando is top 5, it’s like a 3 way tie for 5th between him, George and Carlos

Man this kid is awesome. He's so dwn to earth, and knows what he wants in his career. His answers about going to RB couldn't have been more spot on. I wish Lando all the best, and hope to one day see him a F1 champion. But could nobody at McLaren get the guy a wash cloth, to get that dirt of his lip and chin 😂😂
Ron wouldn't have allowed facial hair, clean shaved was his demand, only Jenson Button was allowed a bit of stubble as Ron mellowed towards the end of his reign.

There is a reason why I love Lando Norris as a driver and as a personality that I see on the internet. This video just cemented my views and my opinions on lando. I’m so happy that he was the driver that introduced me and brought me into the world on f1

I would love to see Lando win the WDC at McLaren.
I'm starting to like Lando more, but dude hasn't shipped the mini helmet model I purchased during Texas Grand Prix last year.
I honestly enjoy him racing alongside Piastri and now we know we get that for at least 3 more seasons. I’m expecting Norris to have a Hakkinen moment. Remember, Hakkinen for years and years had the talent but could never translate it to a win. Then he finally won against Villenevue in Suzuka and he went on for a 2 season romp knocking aside the competition. He’ll get there.
Lets hope for Lando the allegations aren’t true, otherwise he’ll be watching the races from behind bars 💀💀💀

Great to hear Lando being so composed and smart about the challenge to win a world title. Also echoes the words of Mika Hakkinen saying he wouldn't have won his titles without David Coulthard pushing him as hard as he did. With the way Lando and Oscar have been driving maybe they can push each other to bring McLaren back to the top. Hopefully they can at least notch up some victories this season and make it less of a Red Bull show 🙂🤞

I feel like his consistency with McLaren will give him what Max bred with Red Bull. Hope McLaren knows what they got in Lando, and together maximize what they've shown in the second half of the last season. Hopefully that will align with Lando's ambitions and prove this is the best decision for him and the team.
It's better for the sport if you have more top level drivers spread out over more teams on the grid, i'm delighted he's staying at McLaren for the long term

McLaren have picked up pace in terms of infrastructure. Especially with their new wind-tunnel. No more back and forth to Toyota in Cologne.
They also have a massive F1 fan (and motorsports fan) as a CEO.
Lando & Oscar will push each other. More so this season.

I love RedBull, been supporting them since 2005. We are a team that require competition to succeed. If McLaren and others can bring consistent performance and wins on and off the track, the more it will push RB.

Good that you support Red Bull. A genuine Red Bull fan is a rare thing after all. While Ferrari and McLaren have their supporters since the glory days of the past, and even Williams have their supporters from their great 90's most Red Bull "fans" are actually Max Verstappen fans and would stop supporting Red Bull the minute he leaves for any other team.
Lando needs to win a race soon. I saw Piastri in both F3 and F2 and was overjoyed when McLaren signed him. Alpine was foolish enough to sign Ocon for a long-term contract and didn't really know what they wanted to with Alonso...
i see their new simulator, before it was in the lower level of building, small dark old room. but the new one room is twice as big and on the middle floor, the window is right next to boulevard so guests should hear the engine sounds from behind the window, right next to trophy cabinets opposite the restaurant. I cant remember how many but they had a circle of like 16 beast projectors on the roof, projecting a 360 degree projection around the sim seat. Looked pretty sick, didnt see it turned on but I imagine its super immersive.
Lando relishes the challenge of taking the fight to Max & Red Bull.
Hopefully the cfd data for the new car convinced him to stay.

Tbf they were up for the fight against Max, they have a good young line up who give it there all and aren’t clumsy, mclaren being one of the biggest teams in the sport and are cooking something, maybe we will see Mclaren put up a fight against red bull
I think for right now this was the right decision for Lando because even if McLaren don't progress up the grid and give him a championship winning car he'll still be young enough that he can move on and have plenty of time with another team. I feel like he's the best driver in F1 behind Max and any team will still won't him if things don't workout with McLaren but man I hope they do because I've been a McLaren fan for over 20 years now and I'm just waiting for that next title.

Lando must be number one driver at McLaren this year, and beyond. Otherwise I can see Piastri challenging alongside lando for the championship at some point - which would undermine Lando's loyalty ultimately.

Cut me in half I'll bleed papaya, Lando has absorbed a lot of the pain of the fightback of the team to get to the front, now that they're nearly there it makes sense he'd say. Hope he's got a load of performance clauses to keep everyone on their toes.

9:20- Always felt like Lando never had respect for Daniel, Daniel’s talent, or Daniel’s time in the sport. He always seemed aloof and over it with Daniel and in interviews when asked about him. I understand drivers do not have to be best friends by any means, but it almost verges on a lack of respect for DR’s time in the sport. That said, I am a big fan of both drivers and can’t wait to see what they do this coming season!

As of now, verstappen has been able to carry the team but if checo would have finished 3rd last year, 100% lando could have been at the 2nd seat at redbull. If he keeps the momentum 2024 and checo messes up worst than 2023, idk how contracts work but i think redbull would want lando if its possible to break contract. That would make redbull the most dominant team ever for 2025. But for now im happy for lando. Unfortnately for him with max and the RB car is almost impossible to beat but looking forward to the future

There is something immensely likeable about Lando, a 2024 season with Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren is what tje sport needs. I think Lando would make a great world champion, he's a different cat.

Not on the near future at least. There is more hungry lions right now. Hamilton and alonso. And them are on a great teams as well. Let alone max. Maybe a win is possible for him
I definitely believe he’s made the right choice. He would be going from a team in which he is the number 1, with a car that has great potential, based off of where they were at the end of the season, and the management structure that they are implementing, to a team built around Max, in which he’d never win a championship.
When it comes to Charles though, I believe it’s more he has no other choice but to stay at Ferrari, since there’s no other option open for the foreseeable future.
He has a very good chance for P2 this year at WDC. There is going to be a very good competition for that position this year.
Changing teams would not be advisable. Danny beat Max when Max was new at RedBull. Max would certainly beat Lando if he had made the switch to RedBull.
