He is showing a principle that a lot of martial arts use, entering the opponent's space and disrupting their balance. BJJ/ MMA does it by shooting in for a takedown, Judo/Jujutsu does it by going in for a throw or joint lock. His is chiefly (but not limited to) disrupting balance and pushing one away and to the ground. This is definitely more an application of self defence than fighting.
@micsir888 This man is teaching his student how to use the skill of small movements to suppress his opponent's attack. What he is teaching is one of the most ferocious as well as famous Chinese martial arts ever developed in Ho-Bei. He is a true practitioner. Micsir888, you shouldn't say that. I do respect for his devotion to this ancient art and his full understanding of how to use it. By the way`, he is not a kid. He is actually in his middle age.
Im not sure if it gets translated, but I think he shows how the arm bar allows him to steal the root of the opponent when he rises ups or pulls away, then he can go in for the take down. If the opponent anticipates the arm bar and comes in rather than rising up, the teacher explains that you mush turn your waist to get outside the opponents shoulder. Cool demo. Thanks.
@micsir888 I think it's more like... the student is used to being around greatness :D! It's a humble appreciation. Teachers like that... you show appreciation by practicing hard and utilizing what's being taught in real life situation. They don't like all the compliments and stuff. My teacher was like that, and one day I will become a great teacher myself :D
the Origin of Bajiquan can't be traced back, but back then this art was widely practiced by Wu family , and most of them were Muslims, the legend said a member of Wu named Wu Zhong were being taught by mysterious Daoist Monk named Lai and the first dicipline of the Monk named Pi, after that Wu Zhong started to teach people about this Art
Hes kungfu is average nothing special (training under master with better skills) im thankful for the vid though. Dosnt matter though i habe to get better then them. RIP zhou jingxuan

No it's not a muslim art. It was made famous by Chinese muslims during the Ming Dynasty. It's been around since the Toaism era.
Yes and if all muslims drive BMW its still not a muslim car! ; )
legend said that wu song learn bajiquan from a taoist monk called lai
and officially the first bajiquan practitioner is wu song, not that taoist monk.

@micsir888 He is actually a really modest and nice guy, don't know where you got that impression from.
Nice...clear cut explanation!!!
damn this guy is an expert!!!
When I️ get a moment I will post our version of this movement and it’s application. So you can see why the other version is not useless my friend.

Very good demonstration. Does this man have online lessons or a Patreon?

Does these movements have a name?

@TheThreeTreasures....sorry if I sound like a know it all ;-)
@CHF2003e great explanation. too bad you didn't get that I was talking about the unimpressionable student.
