Baji quan is one of those martial arts where the forms are super long and complicated, once executed at full speed and full force, it's a martial art designed to kill with every move, thats why histoically it was also known as the emperor's fist because the emperors in china and his body guards at the time were the only ones allowed to practise this martial art.

+VoidraMusic the forms are hardly long.

+VoidraMusic Baji has some of the shortest forms, and not very many in the style anyways, and not very complicated in movement but in subtlety perhaps a little,

hi, demo not about 'streetfighting' - is to practice applications from form in cooperative way - you just can't go destroying your training partners.... great stuff on show here... a

True. Other problem with these traditional martial art demos is that they, for the most part, don't show how they would deal with a boxer, karateka, wrestler and so forth.

Might be wrong but some of the moves look familiar to yang style tai chi with slight modifications.

You are not wrong, they are indeed similar, even the forms have a lot of similar moves. Same thing with Karate. All of these arts have similar roots

thanks. great educational upload. After reading some of the previous comments, I think viewers should try to understand what is actually going in this video before finding fault with it: is this a lesson to understand various movements of the baji form or a practice for full speed self defense, what were the educational goals of this video if any, was it just a student videoing this session for his own elucidation or show on TH-cam to display Baji? Learn what you can and leave the rest. I found this upload very informative. Also as for full speed attack and full speed response, someone will probably be injured, which will result in someone, not being able to train, and we all want to be able to keep training. For full speed applications in an educational environment, people should were protective gear.

Solid principles, but as is so often the problem the attacker isn't attacking honestly.

the applications are very beautiful and effective but no one will attack this way most of the time it will be strait or hook punch

good application demos, though the opponent didnt attack seriously...
this the problem with wushu nowaday, and because this the hater always said this is cannot apply in streetfight,
well, thats because "kung fu" mean hardwork, people who learn it just for sport or some trying cannot practice it,
long time ago people learn kung fu for their life, to self defense, even war
