I appreciate a video like this. In all my comics reading I’ve never dove into Uncanny X-Men but I have been buying up the omnibuses and looking to collect them up through Inferno. But it’s great to hear from someone who didn’t grow up with the stories to speak glowingly of them. It makes me that much more excited to start reading

Issue 175 (in 1983) and the five or six preceding issues dealt with Madeline Pryor and Mastermind making everyone think that Jean Grey / Phoenix had resurrected. Jean didn’t actually return until the two-part story in The Avengers & Fantastic Four that preceded the launch of X-Factor in 1986.

Claremont’s the best! I commend you for reading it all. That’s quite the undertaking.

I also didn't start reading till later in life, loved reading about the villan Arcade. So many awesome things I've learned that I didn't get in the xmen cartoon

I’ve found that watching the cartoon after reading the comics really makes the cartoon that much better with how close to the source material the animated series is

Claremont made the Xmen what it was, working with the artists he knocked out some brilliant stories and made the characters feel real, they were people with powers, not super heroes.
