That wasn’t only intense - that was tough! d12+2 for one of the creatures’ s stats? That was a really stout creature! The bit with Aleta’s father was nice symmetry, and to know that it came primarily from random dice rolls! Amazing.
My myself and Die mondays always perk me up! Simon's getting luckier all the time, which means something horrible is probably on the horizon for our poor protag. I can't wait to find out what the theory about Thortan is!
Another epic episode!! That battle was awesome! Such a tragedy story for that antagonist. One of the characters dying too.... dammit! But it had everything.... Battle, monsters, friendship and comradery, a nice ending which makes us look forward to the next episode.... awesome!! So so good.... love it :)
Love listening to the story develop! I just hate how I can't binge watch these anymore; sat down last week and watched all the episodes one after another. Your vids inspired me to start soloing myself, can't wait till the next episode.
@@michaelmitchel3471 Pretty well so far! I picked up Basic Fantasy and I'm playing through a campaign with my old Dwarf Fighter character that I ran back in college. Our game ended on a cliffhanger so it was great having a clear goal from the start, and I'm loving the old-school feel of BF. Once this game is done I'm going to try a play through of Tiny Frontiers and see how that plays solo.
@@jbhatchette is he in a party with multiple PC's? Well I guess they would be NPCs. How do you keep track of all of it, you must have an organized character sheet
@@michaelmitchel3471 Nothing too crazy; I use Obsidian to handle all of the character backgrounds and information, along with all the locations and cities. If I had to use pencil and paper I'd scale it way down to keep a better handle on everything, but it's working out so far. Right now he's in a party with a Halfling that I'm starting to suspect is planning on backstabbing him at some point because of some recent oracle rolls, but my character doesn't know that... So that's going to be interesting if the rolls determine that to be so. I apologize for the late response! I never check TH-cam comments. TL;DR, get Obsidian or some other personal wiki to keep track of all your games and characters, you won't be disappointed.
Another fantastic episode Trevor. I'm slightly jealous of all the North American fans who can watch it on Monday. As I'm in the UK, it gets uploaded Monday late evening our time, and with work I can't watch it until Tuesday evening. LOL
This is it, the time of truth! If I were watching this series as it aired, waiting a week for the next episode would've been pure torture lol As for my predictions as to how this will go down, I'm honestly unsure. For the longest time Manfred has been perceived by us as the BBG of this campaign, but recent developments make it seem like he's actually a reasonable and good natured individual. He firmly believes that Simon killed his son, but at the same time, if he's actually reasonable, he should accept Simon's evidence that proves otherwise. I guess it all comes down to the will of the dice now, thankfully I won't have to wait and I can see what happens right now!
What a fight! Simon was so cool. :D I feel some level of sympathy for Thornton after hearing how he was treated by Haven. I'm tempted to say that Haven got what he deserved - but no one deserves to be murdered even if they are behaving like a twat. Kudos for the great, emotional scene with the three men waiting in the cells.
I appreciate the work you put into these videos, but I want you to know that your descriptions are so good, I have no trouble listening to them like a podcast while engaged in other tasks. You have a gift my friend.
WOW!!! That battle was intense! And I really liked how you wove together so many clues and threads into what had actually happened with Thornton. Really well done.
Phew, that was close! I’m wondering what kind of mechanic you’ll be using for Simon’s audience. Dramatic Tasks, maybe? It sure won’t go down with a single persuasion roll, I assume. Anyways, looking forward to the next episode!
I also really like how things get right up to the edge and then the dice are like, "Okay but I don't really want to be put away, so let's turn this around"
Ah, nice work as usual. I was thinking something along these lines myself, actually - not the why, but the what. Demon-possessed or vampire or evil cultist (but you ruled out evil cultist). The guard angle is good. When I saw the mini I was all "ah, Dr. Jekyl, I didn't know your first name was Thornton" and then I couldn't help making Hulk jokes. Good times. Happy Thanksgiivng, btw. Watched this last night, too tired to leave a comment and had to come back and rewatch the end. Thanks for all the hard work, too.

Oh, man! This was such an excellent and dramatic battle! I loved that you used some of SW's neat combat maneuvers such as Wild Attack. Great work, sir. I've sent your videos to my friends as examples of the Savage Worlds system.
Excellent episode Trev. That fight was harrowing! I was on the edge of my seat as much as I would have been if I were playing one of the characters. Oh, and when you mentioned the statue of the founder of Keighton, my headcanon immediately named him “Steve Keighton”
So impressed by your enthusiasm and genuine anxiety during this battle! It certainly adds to the tension and excitement as our heroes finally come through! Can't wait to finish this season and move on to the next!
Great episode. Think it would be cooler if you had shown us the process you came up with the theory though. I understand wanting the viewers to have some suspense, but this show is really better for showing us how to solo rpg. And bringing us along on your brainstorm to set up this fight would have been great.
Hi Trevor, I'm familiar with Savage Worlds, but not so much either Mythic or the other books / systems you tend to use. I'm in the process of getting up to date with those, but would you be able to give a breakdown of how / when / which rules you use from the other resources? Your videos have really inspired me to run something similar for my daughter. Thanks in advance, and keep up the stellar work!
Great Stuff Trevor! Thanks for the gripping episode and excellent story telling. One question; were you intentionally NERF-ing the vigor rolls? ***trait rolls (vigor) suffer a penalty equal to wounds. So Simon wouldn't have un-shaken and Arn wouldn't have made his save vs. death (I guess his leg injury would have been permanent - see incapacitation and bleeding out and incapacitation (SWD pp77-78).
Quick question - Why does the chaos factor go up after dealing with the killer instead of down? Wouldn't finding the book (evidence) and the actual killer reduce the chaos (more under their control)? Not complaining, just wondering about the thought process. Absolutely am loving this series!
My thinking in the moment was that they were about to embark on a really crazy mission: to try and prove Simon's innocence to a man who was absolutely convinced that he's guilty, and doing so with questionable evidence (Stratton's testimony would have being invaluable, but alas...). As always, it's all about interpretation, and whatever feels true in the moment.
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG Good enough. Thanks for letting us inside your head for a bit. Just watched the last episode and am really looking forward to the new season. Of course, now I'll have to get a new set of RPG rules - at least I already own all of the Savage Worlds and Mythic stuff.
AHHH! So good! This is leading up beautifully to a conclusion to Simon's story, and I cannot WAIT to see how this trial goes! Out of curiosity, if this wraps up the biggest threads for Simon (obviously Edbert still has some demons to deal with), do you plan to continue with these character, or start something new? Personally I'd enjoy a new story set in the same world-I remember in an interview you mentioned I think it was Thieves World, where many people played characters separately but in a shared world. It'd be cool to, say, start a new adventure branching off from one of the established areas, and maybe hear about the events of this story in passing.
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG That's why I love the D6 system. I was just curious if it was something out of Savage Worlds bestiary or whatever since I've not looked through the books at all. Masterfully done, I was on the edge of my seat for the whole combat!
Honestly, I’ve collected so many dice over the years, I couldn’t tell you where they come from. My normal percentiles are an off-white, almost bone color. They came from a chessex set, I think, once upon a time.
How about that, a shape-shifting, demonic, Frankenstein's monster of a beggar. Hooda Thunkit? What if the serial-killer is really Huxley, and Simon just (Ironically) murdered another beggar (the crime for which he is wanted)?
I wasn't worried about our intrepid heroes at all...honest. 🫣 Although, I may have been thinking a ghostly spell caster might have come in handy, especially when half the party decided to take an unscheduled 'nap' time. 😁
Simon and company are the best thing about Mondays. Thanks, Trevor!
Haha thats right!!!
That was intense, I don't think we can say Simon sucks anymore :P
Omg I was 95% sure last episode that the killer was Huxby, Huxly...the soup kitchen guy with the short temper! But this is a good turn of events too

Hell of a cliff hanger ending.
*spoiler*
I worry without Straton as a witness, Simon is bringing the evidence that will convict him to the lord.
Holy moly, you are right, I thought about same thing!
And here I thought Simon was actually going to be the killer this whole time.
The battle was really tough, without spoilers... I was really worried about them making it whole. The reason for the 1 year gap was excellent!
