Gentling "wild" Donkeys

- This is Lacy (blonde) and Sis (brown). They are my new projects. The first step is getting them gentled, trusting and used to my touch. Setting training goals is very important. Set short term and long term goals. Be sure your goals are attainable and not too lofty.
You treat those Donkeys with so much care and attention, God bless and thanks for sharing

Random question… what breed would you consider Sis? Or what kind of donkey would she be called? We just got a Jack that I cannot for the life of me figure out what he is. Your videos have been so helpful in learning how to handle him from a ranch perspective (thankfully he is already pretty well trained). We’re hoping to use him for packing one day and am looking forward to start collecting some of your pack gear for my husband as gifts!
@@kristinabrochu5004 since she came from the “Wild West” I wouldn’t even venture a guess as to her breed. While there are different breeds, generally donkeys aren’t connected to specific breeds, especially the feral donkeys that are found on BLM land.

What would you do if you have an donkey ungentled but injured. So you have to get near her to treat her wounds but she won't let you?

Will you keep them separated all the time or just while you're working with them?
I’ve been separating them while I work with them but my progress has been slow. So, I plan to build two separate corrals in the spring.
Eric, how tall and how old are they? I'm thinking of getting a wild one to gentle myself.
