உலகின் மிகப் பெரிய ஒற்றை கல் பாகுபலி சிலை World's biggest monolithic statue in Shravanbelagola

The 58-feet tall monolithic statue of Gommateshwara is located on Vindyagiri Hill at Shravanbelagola in the state o Karnataka.. It is considered to be the world's largest monolithic statue. The statue is dedicated to the Jain god Bahubali.
சரவணபெலகுளா என்னும் கன்னடச் சொல்லின் தமிழ் வடிவம் 'சரவண வெள்ளைக்குளம்'. சரவணபெலகுளா என்னும் ஊர் பெங்களூரிலிருந்து 144 கிலோமீட்டர் தொலைவில், ஹாசன் மாவட்டத்தில், சென்னராயப்பட்டினம் என்ற நகருக்கு அருகில் உள்ளது. கி.பி. 978-993 ஆண்டினதாகக் கொள்ளப்படும் கோமதேசுவர பாகுபலி எனும் சமண முனியான கோமதீஸ்வர் சிலை 57 அடி உயரம் கொண்டதாக இங்கு உள்ளது.
