great tutorial as usual ... I always learn something new no matter how many times I watch this. Thanks for all the effort you put into these as its much appreciated.
Your Maya tutorials are extremely useful and appreciated. Thanks a lot for your time and effort. If you need ideas for future tutorials, I would love to see more dynamics tutorials on an animated characters interacting with the environment, walking through water, pushing stuff aside etc.
Do you know how can I export the animation with the nCloth? I mean, I can export fbx of both but ncloth doesn't work at unity, do you know why? I already saved a dress cache and I made a bake animation also. I hope you can help me, thanks.
Can anyone make a tutorial about rendering a sofa using arnold.... im frustrared I cant get it right, no matter what I tweak my sofa look like a rubber in my scene... Everything looks ok but the sofa is not
If all your other items look good, except for the sofa, then it's probably the material. Cloth is challenging because it has intricate specularity and normal/bump. You might want to add sheen to your material so that it looks more like material. I hope that helps!
ncloth should be applied once all animations are done, that way your computer can handle one process at a time. Same goes with hair or any collisions/simulations related to the animation
the best way to work (most nondestructive, and most customizable) is by using references. You have a scene with your character where you do its entire animations. You then have another scene where you reference that first scene and apply the ncloth (that way, if you need to redo the animation or add something new, you can do it to the "animation only scene" and as it is referenced on the "ncloth only scene" it will all be connected (you will need to redo your ncache though as the collider/body will have changed)
you can use this tutorial to make cloths, simply: go in maya>Windows>general Editor>contant Brawser>drag a clothing piece and drag to the 3d View> put a character Inside that piece of cloth>make the cloth piece a nCloth>make ur character a Passive Colider>press start animation> when you get ur cloth with enough folds and the attributes you chose are satisfy you?> stop animation>Copy Past the Cloth Piece with the folds>Dlt History>Freeze Transformation>Congratz you have a new cloth piece very noice bro.
Thank you so much! Just a quick question, do you recommend clothing mesh being double sided with thickness and if so how do you prevent clipping?thank you
Thank you for your comment! I have a playlist with a bunch of dynamics, including particles. Is this what you were looking for? th-cam.com/play/PLbxLlP-Vyt--uwq9XxWeHbqsH21AGWGxS.html

Hello?
Hello, how can I continue my animation if I already did the ncloth simulation, it takes too long to see the preview in the timeline
