Im very satisfied with Magic 6 Pro. I changed from Mate 50 Pro, so its very smooth, due that the sw environment is very similar and gesture control is same. What is better for me in 6 days of use after buy, is sound from speakers, is more detailed with more "bass", camera give more details than on Mate 50 Pro. battery life is longer, in my case its 0,5 day longer (I using it with 2 SIM cards: private and work number). only one cons after these few days of use is when I played with the camera especialy only focusing on objects/ people less then 5 minuts the Magic 6 Pro began to feel noticeably warm and Huawei was still cold. One cons which that disappeared is a weight of the device - more than 220g is about habit. Feeling the weight in my hand and in my trouser pocket :)

I wonder... is there a mid-ranger phone which actually gets close to these high end phones, when it comes to photo and video? My old Huawei P30, recently broke, was not too far of these phones, sadly. So I can't tell what to buy.... I don't want to break the bank, but the difference for the money is not really proportional :(

At timestamp 22:20 you show massive smoothening out on Magic5Pro side... I wonder if with the new update to MagicOS 8 (delivered starting today) they actually fixed this wiping out details behaviour... Thank you again for you work!

Absolutely no need to upgrade to magic 6 pro ,if you own 5 pro. The only real difference is slightly better processor and battery.
Selfie camera is much much better but yeah no point wasting money. Maby 7 pro will be worth it.
i feel like with today's flagship phones you can easily skip every second new generation, in some cases like the pixel series you can even skip 2 in a row lol.
So is 6 has a better battery and maybe a little faster processor but the difference is not big

The end spreadsheer summary is good, but perhaps as a suggestion the last column total rating could convert the 4.XXX three decimal places rating into a percentage score out of 100 so its more digestible. 87%, 91% etc

better get a hm5p for a sweet deal, the difference is not that huge and the hm5p even has a bigger main sensor.
regarding your question about how it compares to the pixel: i had a pixel 7 pro and it was a fine device, speed wise the tensor is obviously no match for the sd8g2 or g3, so for gaming and heavy tasks it isn't the best device, otherwise it runs very stable and smooth though.
camera wise i was pretty happy with my pixel 7 pro aside from one annoying thing: the tele-lens of the pixel 7 pro can't focus on close things at all, unlike my magic 5 pro which can take beautiful close-up shots of butterflies, autumn leaves, little flowers and so on.
other than that both have great cameras.

Is there possible to shoot heif on m6 pro for more dynamic range?
No HEIF format that I see in settings.
MY THOUGHTS :
19:22 i MUCH prefer the less processed image of the magic 6 pro
22:05 idk, it feels like the magic 6 pro is overexposing a very little too much, but again the processing is better overall and there is more details
25:20 I don't understand how it is possible to have such a bad zoom on the magic 6 pro going after like 10 times (or even maybe 6 / 7 times zoom lol)... seriously this is very bad and sad, they have to optimize this urgently
28:55 would have liked to see the result with the 1.4 aperture
32:18 : why is there so much "bouncing" with the lights on those chinese phones ? it is so bad when in low light conditions, I am pretty sure this is coming from the strong EIS they are implementing, they have to fix this (if not on the 6 pro, in their next phone) because this is very bad lol
doesn't seem to do it that badly on the 5 pro, so they can fix this on the 6 pro... this is one of the thing that are just blocking me from buying the 6 pro to be honest
34:05 i find the magic 6 pro much better overall, the branch on the trees are dark as they should be, you can discern them much better, no "blob" effects, on the tree trunk
you can see it at 34:35 , more details, more natural colors (the tree is illuminated a little, then the more you go up in the tree and in the branches, the more it starts to darken), the grass is more natural and way more refined than on the 5 pro too with better colors (5 pro = grass having the same color in the foreground and background, while 6 pro you can see the different shade of green)
+ the 6 pro is less overexposed so it is very good (overexposing is seriously bad from my point of view), the 6 pro doesn't try to get useless / unnatural details from things that are too dark, it is a VERY VERY nice behavior, I hope they'll keep up in this way of processing
2.5 times zoom in this scenario, magic 6 pro maybe a tad too much ISO ? but otherwise, going to 5x, again i prefer this processing against the 5 pro, less processing / noise reduction, love this
the selfie, again 5 pro overexposed, 6 pro very good exposure I love this behavior, good job honor on this, hopefully they fixed overexposure on day time too (since you made the day time shots before this update)

Today I tested the front camera, which the Magic 5 is far superior to the Magic 6 in terms of clarity. The difference is beyond discussion.
Not really. Not sure what happened there to your Magic 6 Pro but it has the way better higher resolution sensor plus auto focus. So definitely more clearity.

main sensor video on m6 doesn't look warmer, it tries to beautify your face with blur and red oval in the middle. It's difficult to watch that, the image is ruined.

Honor Magic 5 pro and Magic 6 pro are great smartphones overall but cameras... they produce "drawings" but not photos, I am disappointed :(... I could not switch to Honor after Nubia Z50 Ultra only because of the cameras...
how do you mean "drawings"?
have you tried gcam yet? it's a great app and it fully supports all lenses of the magic 5 pro, personally i prefer the photos made by gcam, they look crisper and the color pallette is very realistic.

For me magic 5 pro did a good job and still better in most situations.. I don't know why you are on magic 6p side for most situations ..?! even on raw pictures you said they are the same but magic 6p is darker and more noise !!? And you back and said it's downgrade for m6p sensor and then you said it's equal !?... Even 10x is better on m5p and natural at least there's 10x shortcut existing..

@@lltechviewI don't understand what weight has to do with it. you have a video about comparing cameras. At the end is a table with an estimate of certain camera parameters. At the end of each line is the average value. The average value is calculated incorrectly.
At the end of each line is the total rating not the average. The total rating is calculated like you see for each smartphone by clicking on the link including the weights for each category. Otherwise it does not make much sense as the main camera photo quality should have more priority then the front camera.

Magic 5 Pro Zoom camera is a gimmick. So useless, every photo is like a watercolour painting. I am so disappointed, I will never buy this crap again. If you don't need cameras, this is the best phone, other than that, the front camera is trash, 3x zoom cam is terrible, and you only have a main camera that is good, which in this price range is ridiculous!
Try GCAM , with 3x camera will you better pictures, and no painting. Gcam don't use strong noise reduction like stock camera, maybe the pictures need some sharpening but they are better ! i got magic 5 pro, non just speaking about ;-)

Honor Magic5 Pro needs to finish their homework ASAP - selfie camera and video are not up to today's standard compared with my previous Huawei P30, even though my phone has the latest updates on as I'm writing this. Please try WhatsApp video call on both, I couldn't believe how bad the video is. I have messaged Honor support about it, some others have mentioned it as well. Zoom 3.5x if you are lucky to get a focused shot, forget 10x-100x, non existent. Battery life, even on battery saving mode does not last a full day. Maybe a faulty device, but for this price tag I somehow expect trouble free phone. The icing on a cake - very difficult to find a screen protector that works properly, so far tried 7, rounded corners collect dust, buttons won't respond let's say on YT video to press x, etc. Anyone else or is it just me? 🫣 On a positive note: amazing screen quality, some really good shots without zoom, duo speakers. 🔈
