    Any way to change the default color swatches for *every* document?

    • @LauraCoyle
      @LauraCoyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      The default swatches come along with the document profile/preset you choose when you create a new document. You can't change the Illustrator document profiles, but, you can create a custom document profile. I haven't made a video for that, but I like this one: th-cam.com/video/SWYrFw7bOuM/w-d-xo.html

    Hello! How do i colour my shapes separately after making them into a compound path? On my laptop i could used shape builder to colour them separately. Is there this option on ipad version?

    • @LauraCoyle
      @LauraCoyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      When you do that on the desktop (color shapes with the Pathfinder inside a compound path), do the shapes come apart and are no longer compound paths? I'm not sure you can maintain a compound path once you change the color of a shape within - they are comprised of multiple shapes with the same appearance.

    Trying to find out if I can save current swatches on one file, and add them to a different file?

    • @LauraCoyle
      @LauraCoyle  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If they are global, you can copy the art to another file and delete the art, the swatches will remain. You can also save colors in a CC library and access them in Illustrator on the iPad, but unfortunately, you can't save into a CC library from Illustrator on the iPad. You have to use the desktop or Capture. Hopefully, Adobe will let us save swatches to a CC library in the future from the iPad.

    Hi Laura, I’m having issues with the eye dropper on iPad. Every time I select a colour using the eye dropper, it comes out different to the original. Any idea what the issue could be?

    • @LauraCoyle
      @LauraCoyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - if you are talking about the color looking the same but having different formula numbers. The eyedropper on the iPad version works differently than it does on the desktop. When you sample and apply a color, the eyedropper is not applying the swatch you attached to that art. Instead, it's kind of like it's taking a snapshot of the color, so the formula numbers can be off by just a tiny bit. This is a pain for those who have to control our colors, apply swatches, and keep them consistent. If you need to apply a swatch color, then click the swatch instead of using the eyedropper. Hopefully, there will be a fix for this in the future. Let me know if that helps!

    is pencil hover work on illustrator ipad m2 ?

    • @LauraCoyle
      @LauraCoyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have the M2 iPad, so I haven't tried it myself. I just searched, and I'm not seeing it with iPad Illustrator. Here's the Adobe Help article on new features and improvements: helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/whats-new.html Since the M2 with hover came out at the same time as the latest version of Ai, we may have to wait for another version to be implemented. If you try and find it, let me know!

    HELLO HOW I CAN USE THE EYEDROPER IN AI ON IPAD

    • @LauraCoyle
      @LauraCoyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Select an object, choose the fill or stroke icon at the bottom of the toolbar, and click on the eyedropper in the color panel. With the eyedropper, you can drag over a color on the screen to pick and apply it to the selected object.
