Thank you! I'm so happy about these changes. For whatever reason, however, they are not working on mine, which has me puzzled.

Your version of Illustrator on the iPad may not have updated yet. Close it, and also check out the Creative Cloud app and launch Illustrator from there, that may wake CC up and give you the new version. It's supposed to happen automatically, but sometimes it needs a nudge.

@@LauraCoyle Thank you! I actually uninstalled it and then reinstalled it, and that seemed to do the trick, but I'll take note of what you suggested for future reference! Thank you again!

I looked at your video list and I don't see this, but my question is what would you use illustrator on the iPad vs. adobe fresco. I'd love a video on the pros and cons of each and which to use.

Great topic idea! I use Fresco for vector brush drawing - the vector brush in Fresco is more adjustable than the blob brush in Illustrator.

On my iPad when trying to resize and skew there is the locked constraint icon that appears like in your video but all the time and cannot turn off even with the “shift” turned off?

If you are saying that the touch ring shortcut is stuck in the locked position and you can't unlock it, you may need to restart or uninstall and reinstall Illustrator.

I'm not sure if I understand, but on the iPad there is a pencil tool, blob brush and paintbrush tool that are like the tools on the desktop version.

Laura, very nice tutorials. I just started on the iPad drawing with illustrator and your tutorials are really smoothing mine workflow. I have however still one problem which cannot find solution on internet. I like to use photoshop on the iPad for some details and structures, specially using the watercolor brushes. I made one drawing in illustrator exported as psd open it photoshop on iPad and the first time I did, I still had all the layers and sub layers with the shapes. Wonderful just what I wanted. Made some other drawings and exported again as psd but this time opening in photoshop for iPad some sub layers with shapes merge other remains separated as wanted and some layers all the sub layers merge. I cannot figure out why it some time merge and other times it does not. Hope you can explain. Thanks

Working back and forth between Illustrator and Photoshop on the iPad is not always a smooth workflow. I do not work in PS on the iPad, only the desktop, so I may not have the best advice for what you are trying to do.When you export a PSD from Illustrator and open it in PS on the desktop, you have a vector smart object which can be edited in Illustrator on the desktop. That's the key to keeping vectors editable from Ai to PS. Otherwise those vector layers can become images/pixels. If you create something in Illustrator with clipping masks, these can wind up getting flattened - and there may be other instances, other Illustrator features you are using that cause things to get flattened. Hope there is a hint in there that helps. Many of us are looking forward to a time when these workflows are less complicated :-).

Laura thanks for the reply. I have even tried with just some basic circles with solid colors with just 3 layers and some sub layers. Result is the same some merge some not and some are as it should be. There must be some logic in it as it is just some logarithm which we must understand. I keep searching . PS is the last stage in mine workflow just some details, will follow your advise and do it on the computer till found the way to do this part also on the ipad
