I was watching this at 2x speed, and when the workers started removing the flashing, and boxing the ladles, I was super impressed. Then I dropped back to normal playback speed, and was still impressed.
@@hoobaguy I don’t think you can get cancer from it… especially with the gloves and masks these people wear. Theres safety precautions in place for a reason.
Is it usual to put a piece of plastic between the mold or is this just to cut costs? I thought these were fully made of silicone but I guess not. Im also surprised about the so much manual labor involved in making these. I guess this kinda explains why these kitchen silicone products are usually pricier.
The plastic is part of the molding process, it does not end inside the silicone part. You can when they separate the molds that the white plastic mold stays with the bottom mold and the silicone part stick to the top mold. They then peel the finished silicone part out. I presume the white molds get cleaned and reused.
@@jackmandu That's what I thought at first, but then I thought maybe this is what some companies do to cut costs. We all know how sneaky they can be. Gives it ridigity and less silicone material, much cheaper for them. After reviewing the video, you can indeed see that the white plastic part gets molded together inside of the silicone. Watch from 5:50. On 5:59, before they get pressed together, you can see there's already silicone stuck at the top, so the plastic sits between 2 silicone parts. This is sad.
@@GolzeD2009I don’t think it’s to cut costs. Silicone is soft and the utensils need to be firm. Without the rigid plastic inside them they would just be floppy and of no use at all.
Silicone sticks to silicone at high temperature, and these products have a hard plastic insert between the layers to help keep the shape of the object and for higher rigidity.
why though? i'm pretty sure it's way easier to handle it bare-handed, also gloves can get dirty pretty easily, which could have an impact on the product and besides that, using gloves would bring the danger of it getting stuck in the machine, which is unlikely to happen when handling it barehanded
Vielen Dank für den interessanten Beitrag zur Herstellung von Silikon Küchenartikeln. Ich wusste bis jetzt nicht wie solche Artikel hergestellt werden 😊😊
I know I'm being pedantic, and I'm not trying to ruin your joke, because it was funny, but this is from a quick Google search: _Both materials are widely used, both contain silicon, and they are almost spelled the same, but there are significant differences between the two. To make a long story short, silicon is an element and silicones are polymers containing silicon and oxygen, and often carbon and hydrogen as well._
Only because being half Korean, not reading the description, and being able to recognize Hangul did I realize that this video was not Chinese. I almost threw mine away!
I wonder if micro or nano particles of plastic or silicone are transferred through daily use? I know for sure that when using plastic cutting boards they are transmitted and enter our body.

I never expected this to involve so much manual process.
same. I wonder why that's the case.
Great name for a silicone company !!!😊
Is it just me, or does pulling the excess silicone off the near-finished items seem rather satisfying?
I think the same, as well as the fact that the ability to do that is built into the molds themselves.
I love the snapping sounds when the bubbles pop

So labor intensive!
If they had another roller up top they send a strip up and it would o r Dow and blend it. I did this with rubber years.
Well done . Informative 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing, be safe, 🇨🇦
Sillymonn Silicon.....

I don't get it, silicone is a thermoset material. This is more like a rubber material, how come you can stick it together?
Set at a specific and high temperature, sure
Before 9:45 it was like rubber
Silicone sticks to silicone at high temperature, and these products have a hard plastic insert between the layers to help keep the shape of the object and for higher rigidity.
I think the first pressing is without heat. The second one is with heat which accelerates the curing process
Is it just me but is reaching under those rollers a bit of an OHS risk? Looks amazing , but very hands on
does it get hot when it goes thru all that squeezing?
Can you make A pair of silicone gloves for the worker's hands ?

why does it need a plastic bag at the end?

It's amazing to see the workers wearing short sleeves and handling the materials with their bare hands. Where did the quality go?
The silicone is cured at 150°C for a long period of time. Nothing biological is going to survive that process.
