How to set up Courseplay for running multiple machines - Farming Simulator 17 Courseplay Tutorial

- In this Courseplay tutorial for Farming Simulator 17 I show you how setup Courseplay for running multiple machines at the same field at the same time.
I set up a course for two seeders and also a course for three combines. You will also learn about Symetric lane change and offsets.

Wow so this is the first tutorial that covers and explains it all for us newbies lol. i watched 6+ others and they just go through the setups so fast as if u should know what ur doing mostly.... im like if i knew what all that was i wouldnt be here lol. So ty. u guys make this look easy.... lol 2+ hours later i think i finally getting this. Ur video was spot on i just would miss steps and the mods changed some since so....yeah lol. anyways ty so much for this video i know i be using it alot till i get this all down. best course guide vid by far that i seen anyways. ty for ur time and effort and patience making this

I always just started two tractors on the opposite side of a field, but I saw that in real life this is the way to go. Courseplay now has a much simpler and faster way to set up more than one tractor, not math required!
If I'm not mistaken, if you disable "Pathfinding" mode, the overloader will actually go into the field and hit that first combine.
The reason is that in Pathfinding mode the overloader or tipper (whichever you use) will ONLY empty combines that are clear on the unload side, meaning no crops on that side. The only time Pathfinding will go into the field is if you hit 100%, as you did in that first combine after emptying the third.
One last thing of info:
LOVE what you said about the traffic. One thing I do though is turn traffic off when I'm making a course that goes onto the road so that I can get full speed. I still slow down at corners like you do and such, then turn traffic back on when I'm done. Main reason is so my tractor can go full speed the whole way (or slow down behind cars if needed). If I had traffic on might be cases where I have to slow down for a LONG time because of the darn car in my way and that speed stays on the saved course, even with no cars in the way in the future.

You might actually be right about the pathfinder. I didn't think about that, but it makes sense that with pathfinder on, the courseplay driver will try to avoid the crop the best it can. I might test it out and see if it makes a difference :)
Yeah I messed up by not turning traffic off before I started recording the course. It is a really good tip to turn off traffic before you start the course recording. It makes it so much easier to setup a good courseplay course.
And thanks btw. I wasn't too sure my explanation of multiple machines and their working width came out in a way that made any sense. It sounded okay inside my head, but that doesn't mean it will sound okay when it comes out my mouth :D

Symetric lane change doesn't tell it to skip a lane, it tells it to change side whem it turn. For ex. you go up on the right side of the middle, and you come down on the left side.
In your case you needed to do this because you started with the inside tractor. If you started with the outside tractor, you have to leave it off.

Great vid. One question, what mod are you using when you stepped onto a field and it showed the growth status on the bottom right of the screen? Thanks again for awesome videos...very helpful
I am happy you found the video helpfull :) The mod that shows the crop and growth state on a field is called Game Extension. You can download in game from Giants modhub. Once you are ingame you can active the menu of the mod by pressing the i key.

I you would have started with outside combine first, next middle and last inside, you would not have any problems with tractor driving on crops :) Propably you would have to keep distance between them a bit longer.
A long time ago when you did this fantastic series, i am learning a lot, i have noticed in the Coarseplay menu you can select alternate passes/lanes, would that not be better, thanks
Love your videos, very veeery well put together and easy to follow, im just wondering if you have one on using a front mower and side mounted more? as everytime i try to set up this setup with courseplay it acts as if im using 3 mowers

Hi Datalund, I really enjoy your videos how to use courseplay. I learn much from it. But I have a question. Is it possible to do Sugar Beet Harvesting to the full end with courseplay? I have seen some videos around, but cant see anyone make it work 100%.

Just to make sure I understand your question...
Are you thinking about making the beet harvester going the full length of the field (no headlands) or are you thinking about harvesting from the very first beet until there are no more beets left on the field?
Also are you thinking about the self propelled sugar beet harvester, or the trailed?
It might be badly explained, but I think about the whole package from scratch and get it transported to the farm with courseplay. Sorry for poor explanation but my tongue is not English hehe. This is only about sugarbeet.

The setup you are asking about can be done. It's not easy though and I have had a couple of other viewers asking the same question. I think I'll take it up in a livestream to make it easier for everyone to understand. I'll of course make sure to tweet before the livestream, and as always I'll make sure that the livestream will be on TH-cam within a couple of days ;o)

Yeah typical ain't it? :P In every test prior to the recording, everything went well... But as soon as I start recording, that happens... But hey it just shows that even though everything is set up correct, you still have to pay attention to the Course Play workers :)

I have question for You for this video tutorial. When it comes to balancing on the field must always be the same machines? And what about the mowing of cereal also must be the same machines?
2. Where can I download version 5.01.00133 Courseplay?
When working with multiple machines on the same field in Farming Simulator 17, it is important that the machines you want to do the same job (like harvesting) are the same type of machines. This is to make sure they have the same working width
and working speed. Otherwise you can end up with one machine driving faster than the other and they will both get stuck in traffic. You could also experience that one machine is slightly bigger than the other. That will also cause them to get stuck in traffic.
So if you are using more than one machine to work the same task on the same field, make sure that you are using identical machines.
For transporting the cereal back to the farm, you don’t have to use identical machines. Here you can use any type of machines you want to JYou can always find the latest Courseplay version at Courseplay Github:github.com/Courseplay/courseplay

nice tutorial iv been trying to use this on fieldwork mode with two forage harvesters both same model krone big x 1100 and have samme grass pickup i mowed the grass and used a rake to swarth it into 9 meter swarts i set first forager up at 18 meters and teh second one 9 meters to the left but every now and then 1 forager will drive where the swarth was already picked any help on this or am i doing it completely wrong ?

Hej. Ser fedt ud det hele og tak for den fine tutorial. Jeg er selv begyndt at lege med det, men en tanke slog mig. Hvis du kører multi maskiner og lad os sige du starter på field 29 i Coldcrest Valley... Lad os sige det sydvestlige hjørne. Ender det så ikke i problemer? Kan man kun bruge courseplay med den kombination du viser når marken er fuldstændig firkantet?
Hej Lars. Tak for de fine ord :) Du kan sagtens bruge Courseplay med multi maskiner på alle slags marker. Tag evt. et kig på de 2 sidste videoer jeg har lagt op. Her viser jeg opsætningen med en nyere version af Courseplay hvor det er væsentligt nemmere at sætte op. Begge videoer er på marker der langt fra perfekt firkantet ;o). Den ene video er med 2 mejetærskere og den anden er med 3 såmaskiner.

is it possible to set up a tractor pulling 2 or 3 or more tippers in a roadtrain to fill and dump the multiple trailers?
Hmm it might be. I haven't tried it, but I think it would be fine with that setup, as long as you have an overloader chasing the combines and unloading in to the roadtrain trailers
You left the settings where the overloader unloads the combines at 30%. That's why he was chasing all 3 of them back to back.

I LOVE them all. I understand if your too busy, but I would love to see a tutorial on what the horizontal and vertical offsets are for. Also an example of how to use them. That would be fantastic. But if your too busy I totally understand man. Plus if you did every request people asked you to do, Then you would absolutely have no free time WHAT SO EVER!!!! LOL!

Yes I saw the video where you set up a course to pickup round bales and drop them off by those half pipe dome storage units. I do understand the offset from left to right. It's just the other one I don't understand. Also I saw there was a LANE offset that you didn't use in the video. Just me being dumb I would have thought to use the lane offset instead . But anyways, I definitely looking forward to new vids you put out whatever the content may be. Keep up the good work!!

If you work with even number, you put half the machinery width on the offset. And with odd numbers you put the same machinery width? That makes sense?
Yup that makes perfect sense and might even be the best way of putting it :)

As for big maps for FS17 it depends a lot on what type of map you like. Personally I prefer European style maps and my favorite big map is Loess Hill Country (www.modhoster.com/mods/losshugelland--3)
If you are more into American styled maps I have heard that the map American Outback should be good (www.farming-simulator.com/mod.php?lang=en&country=gb&mod_id=72254&title=fs2017)
Datalund the difference between american and europeans it's only visual? Or anything else I should know? I'll check the european you mentioned.
Yeah the difference is primarily visual, but field size and shape tend to be bigger on American styled maps. The Big Bud DLC fits well on those American styled maps :)
The first combines pipe is always facing the crop when I start the combine closest to the middle of the field
ok iv updated today to version 5.02.00035 and tried setting course exactly the way its done here in video for seeding ,using same seeder x 2 and same tractor x 2 , done everything like explained in this video but it doesnt work now , one tractor just drives to start point and stays there does nothing at all :(
Sounds like the newer versions might require a different setup. I haven't played around with it that much yet, but I will have a look at it and post a new video about the multiple tools function. As I understand it, the multiple tools function should make is so much easier to setup a setup like this one.

CoursePlay does not work with automatic harvesters as the tractor goes to any harvest. What is the problem?
It's kinda hard for me to tell you what is wrong from the information you have provided here. Could you tell me more about it? Are you using modded equipment or the ingame vanilla equipment? What map are you playing? Have you looked in your log file and made sure there are no errors there? What version of Courseplay are you using?
My only problem with courseplay is, everytime I try to have tractor unload the combine, 80 % of the time he rear ends the combine and i have to keep fixing it
im having an issue with the cr10.90 with the 40ft head they colliding as the half and the total width dont match the calculation
I'll have a look at it :) I think the newest version of Courseplay might have a solution for that
hopefully those decimal places are a pain
