  • The relations of the sultans of the Ottoman Empire with their women were quite special. On the one hand, his wife is his second mind, which can be a support to him. But at the same time, she can also be a threat.
Mothers were more reliable but not as close as wives. The concubines could enjoy love and even become the Haseki herself. But only the princesses were the kind of flower from which nothing was demanded, but was a delight for the eyes and the heart.
What did they look like? Let's see who was the meaning of the life of the last sultans of the great Ottoman Empire.

these Princesses did not seem to
live happy lives after the exile. Thank you for a great video.

all the women paintings are fake of ottoman women because it was forbidden to see the real beauty of these women for strangers because the sultans wanted that way.. they were painted ugly on purpose..

The Ottoman wives/concubines of the later periods were mostly from the Caucasus region (Especially Circassians, Georgians etc). Overall, the women of the Harem reflected all ethnicities from the Balkans, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus region but some regions became more prominent when certain regions became independent or lost to other empires.

Almost all Turks these days are of Eastern European/European origin as since medieval times girls and women from that region of Europe were brought and were the concubines of Ottoman dynasty's emperors, princes and the wives of common people although even in 13 century before the ethnicity were heavily mixed with Europeans original Turkish ladies were quite beautiful, their beauty was of dark black toned hair, pale skin and thin, sharp nose with fuller faces(Which I find absolutely gorgeous than the later ones)much different from Turkish ladies of later period who have a various range of brown hair colours, textures and skin colours although mostly fair, even to blond and red hair and rather European prominent noses not high bridged and boney jawline features
