I don't know what Japanese toothpaste is like, but I've personally never liked Western toothpaste. The flavour of it is why I didn't brush my teeth as much as I should have when I was a kid (don't worry, I brush every day now). I found some Indian toothpaste called Dant Rakshak. It has a cinnamon and clove flavour to it. It's good. Also noticed my gums never bleed when I use it, unlike when I used to use Western toothpaste.

I'm the opposite, I prefer toothpaste(Lion brand) in Japan and bring it in the US, I find US most products too harsh

Dude, chew xylitol gums (for 2 minutes), and use xylitol sugar and used "Crest toothpaste cavity protection" and listerine cool mint ... The rest is blushit.
