That Stephen Hawking bit was unintentionally funny for another reason - Hawking held a party for time travelers to which he sent invitations after the party ended. No one showed up.
Oh it was intentionally funny. He had staff put up silly banners and all. He was being a smart ass and proving time travel doesn't exist.
It proved an excellent point though. Because so many people know it happened, It went down in history so if time travel did exist there is no way they wouldn't attempt to meet him. Although... If time travel existed his announcement would have been even funnier.

To be honest, I’d defend the birth photographer if he had worded it differently. If he had said something like “I don’t feel comfortable taking pictures of a c-section, but I can recommend someone who is”, that would have been pretty reasonable.
