Consul panariste janzoni (Salvin) (Blackened Leafwing)--Costa Rica

This rare butterfly occurs from 0 level to 800 m on both slopes of Costa Rica, in association with rain and evergreen forests. Still its life cycle is undescribed. We have observed species in very distinguished populations in the peninsula. In this video we see a male feeding on a dead crab. This is the first and only available video of this species on the internet.
