    The thermistor should be touching a (pilot sensing) cell of the assembly for its proper protection against over-temperature. As shown in the video, it stands on the plastic case of the assembly, which means that if this protection will ever work, it will be too late... Furthermore i don't know if the cell balancing during charging will work, as the four sensing cables are missing from the new pcb. Along with all of these things, it seems that the overcurrent protection of the drill motor is also missing from the new pcb, as the shunt resistors shown on the old pcb are missing too...Therefore, at least in terms of safety alone, this repair seems to be both poor and dangerous...

    Do the newer balancing circuit boards fit onto the old battery holder and under the older plastic top lid? that was produced with the older little not balancing circuit board ???

    You even try to soldier it off just cut it off with wire cutters it's trash save you a lot of time and some times the screw location wrong hot glue it and make sure you can close the case👌👍💯✌️🎄🎆

    Unlike Makita, Hikoki and Bosch Li-Ion batteries, Milwaukee batteries can be unlocked. The intelligent Milwaukee charger, after checking all Li-Ion cells, reactivates the battery's electronics.
    Yesterday I received 5 pieces of "defective" Milwaukee M18/5Ah batteries for free. After two hours, all batteries work like new without changing cells, BMS and soldering iron!

    There's no balancing function in the PCB you installed.
    The individual cells can be overcharged/overdischarged.
    It can be dangerous.

      How can you see that? I don't doubt you but isn't it the contacts in the yellow part that are the balancing contacts?

    • @ciprianwinerElectronicManiac
      @ciprianwinerElectronicManiac 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@myshitonyoutube Nope they are not, for a pcb to have balancing it needs wires going to each cell and transistor and resistors to balance the cell, as for protection there needs to be at least a big power mosfet which it is also missing on that pcb.

      quite right! however, not all my genuine makitas are balance charged. and more than 10 years old too. the newer ones are.

      @obie224 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      as long as you're replacing all the cells at once with known good balanced cells, it's not a big deal. older makita batteries don't have balance charging either (i have some of these) and they just work, in my case for over 8 years. if you're mixing and matching cells though, get a replacement board with actual balance charging.

    This isn`t a repair, if there is a fault with the cells the PCB board won`t let you charge it for safety reason. Replacing the PCB board does not solve your problem, you just made a ticking timebomb.
