      After watching this video, I'm leaning towards the Mustang, compared to the Saddleman Road Sofa (I assume that was the model it's being compared to). As far as I can tell though, the Mustang doesn't come with seat heating for the Indian Pursuit /Challenger. Booo! 😢. Im pretty disappointed with the OEM rider seat on the Indian Pursuit. 🇦🇺

    Thanks for the review! Just picked up a nearly new Mustang Standard. Sets me about ¾-1" higher and a tad bit closer. I hope it settles in and sets me closer to the stock position. Love the density of the foam and can already tell it's a great seat.

      I ended up going for the reach version so it sent me back a little bit further, but it did sent me a little higher, which was my initial only complaint, but with a new windshield everything was fixed

    Thanks I just put my new mustang super touring seat on my road glide friday I rode to dover ohio then to McConnelsville ohio n back home on saturday with the wife, n we rode all day sunday, Im still making up my mind about the seat, it looks very good on the bike, however we find it kinda stiff but its new so hopefully it eases up some soon, the seat also sits higher than the stock harley seat which i dont like but it also sits farther back which i love, so much of my things i dont like will be better when its broke it I feel, I didnt know if there was a break in period but i figured there was, your review helped me decide to keep this good looking well made american built seat on the bike or at least in my stable of seats lol

      I feel the longer I have had it, the more it has formed to me. I will say my biggest complaint is how much higher it sat me up. I did have to buy a taller windshield due to the fact. But in all honesty I haven’t looked at another seat since.

  • @tim595

    Hi, great videos, thanks. Mustang backrests have a bolt & screw under your seat, to secure the backrest so it doesn’t get stolen. Now, the reason your backrest is tightening up is that the screw has worked its way in & tightened the backrest & it’s harder to remove & install. Either back out the screw under the seat so u can remove it easier or (like me) tighten it up so no one can steal it. I never remove mine.

    • @ThiccAmishMedia
      @ThiccAmishMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Holy shit thanks so much. Lol I was worried that that bolt looking thing was something to hold the mechanism in place because I saw the blue Loctite on it. Backed out a hair and now it works like when I first got it. I only remove mine for around town stuff so this helps out a bunch. Thanks so much.

    The Mustang rider back rest has tension set by a bolt that threads into the back rest channel in the seat. If I recall correctly, turn your seat over and I believe you will find a cut out in the seat pan where the welded on back rest support is. You should see a bolt head with a jam nut. Loosen the jam nut and turn the bolt out slightly and you will be able to get the back rest in and out easier. Start with very little torn as a little goes a long way (also if tightening if too lose). Lock down the jam nut when done. If you can't see the bolt from the under side, then pull the seat fabric and look down from the top through the back rest hole. Your seat should be from the under side. My Mustang vintage classic Solo I have to get from the top. I just bought a Saddlemen RS with back rest. I'm still trying it out. If it doesn't work out I will try the Mustang that you have. My solo is great but knee issues as I get older and need to sit up and get knee below hip to stop the pain. Getting older really sucks.

    • @ThiccAmishMedia
      @ThiccAmishMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll check it when I get home since I’ve been riding Eleanor quite a bit since I’ve gotten her back. I have never noticed a hole in the back I always thought it was a divot that acted as a slide.

    • @amberbali8881
      @amberbali8881 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThiccAmishMedia No hole in the back. Spread the seat and look down where the rider back rest bar goes into the steel channel. shine a light down into the channel and you will see what I'm talking about. When I had a Mustang super tour similar to yours, I accessed the slotted screw (not a bolt like I mentioned earlier) from the bottom if I recall correctly.

    Thanks for the review. I am 6 foot tall and have a 2022 road king standard. The factory seat is a tad bit too close to the tank for me. Would the mustang sit me back a little bit from stock? Also do you know how much higher from stock the mustang sits you? I like the height of the stock seat. I don’t want to be any lower. I’m hoping that the mustang is close to stock height.

    • @ThiccAmishMedia

      I'm 6'4" 225lbs and after about hour and half, I find myself moving around alot on my BB Freedom seat. I have at least 1000 miles on it and its firm. I love the looks of it, but its not wide enough and sits low enough that it doesn't have support under your legs (with long legs) so all of my weight is shifted to the rear of my butt and tailbone. After a couple of hundred miles its not great. I ended up throwing my air pad on it the last longer ride I did just for some extra cushion. I dont want to badmouth them in any way, as they were great to work with when ordering and such, but as a tall rider, its just not working out very well. I love that its 3 pieces and I can run a solo mounted tour pack with it on road trips, but i find myself here looking for better comfort.

    • @ThiccAmishMedia
      @ThiccAmishMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I had a Roadking before this and I feel like with the 114 it just wasn’t enough. I told myself when I was going to buy a new bike. I was going to do a 131 kit but I also wanted dependability for long rides, so that’s why I went with the 117 instead of the 114 the little extra power it has is enough for me especially since I am going to do intake exhaust, and a tune soon. I wasn’t a fan of the twin cold or the king 4 pack at the time but now I should’ve just went ahead and did it but at the time the price difference wasn’t worth it for me.

      @@heathwest3718 thanks for driving means a lot. I don’t care what anyone right just as long as it’s not a Can-Am with the steering wheel lol. With me being a mechanic I feel like I have more faith in a factory built product and something we built at the shop. So do you say if I was to do the 131 or 135 I would buy it complete as a factory package instead of building it myself. I’ve also wanted to turbo this bike but that breaks me back to the dependability thing lol I’ve had this bike for about 11 months now and it already has 17,000 miles on it. Lol.

      @@dinggus the stitching on that seat is a big reason why that seat sucks. After an hour of riding you can feel it through whatever you’re wearing and it feels like it just cuts into you.
