I dress for my comfort, and then something that I know makes me look nice ;) the biggest obstacle is yourself I think, and judgement. You have to FEEL good, to give yourself confidence to LOOK good and enjoy your clothes.
Nice conversation, very interesting and relatable.

She does although she doesn't seem to be using it much. It's called "theslumflower".
She also has a blog and an Instagram page under the same name.

nahh im i came for the rockin afro i saw on this morning. i loved it. more black girls gotta do that, it looks amazing. i dig this girls confidence.
however im not a fan of the fat acceptance movement. that just encourages obiesity which is unhealthy. losing the weight should be more pushed. however that doesnt mean people shuld be bullied for their life choices

Note: not accepting fat people doesn't promote health or even weight loss, except in some cases it does promote eating disorders that lead to weight loss--which is also harmful. In fact, if your only goal in relating to people is to get them to be healthy, which SOMETIMES involves losing weight, then the best thing you can do is PROMOTE FAT ACCEPTANCE. Because that actually makes people more likely to lose weight due to feeling better about themselves and, in some cases, losing weight.
Also, mind your own business. If you want to lose weight, lose weight. If you want to hate on and shame fat people (which is what the fat acceptance movement counters), you're not interested in their health, you're just a jerk.

at what point was i hating on fat people? fat acceptance hasnt just become about acceptance... its become more than that. i dont mind if someone is fat, ill treat them like any other human if they have common decency. that is acceptance. however the movement is vouching for mannequins to change to suit "plus size" which is a nice way of saying overweight. no matter how u look at it, its not healthy to be fat, and thats what this movement is ignoring. if one wants to be fat im completely fine with it thats their choice, i "accept". but a lot of what this movement says is u cant tell them that their fat. u gotta pretend that they are normal phisically when in fact they have a weight problem. i believe we should reserve the right to tell them that their deffo overweight in a polite way but in a way that tells truth. not to force them to lose it but let them do what they want with the truth. some of these people are in denial and say its okay to be fat. that is what i have a problem with. im not hating its just what i think.

Ah. I guess I was saying "hate on" rather than hate, as in despise. Telling people "politely" that they're too heavy (unless you're a doctor) is also extremely damaging. And "no matter how u look at it its not healthy to be fat" genuinely isn't true. It CAN cause problems, but so can a number of more invisible health issues. Mannequins are generally underweight, which can also be very unhealthy--not to mention weirdly proportioned. So what's wrong with asking for more diversity in representation? You totally have the right to tell people politely they're overweight or polite. You have the right to fight for anyone to say that. I'm just saying, I think you're a jerk to do so, no matter how well-intended.

i obviously dont go up to random person and say their fat... if i was putting on the pounds i would respect someone like a friend or family if they let me know so i can do something about it. but pretending u dont notice doesn't solve the problem. its like living in some fantasy when everyone refuses to speak out. i think people should be told. and having fat mannequins only encourages others that its okay to be fat which is again unhealthy. there is a correlation between fat gain and heart disease. that sort of sedentary lifestyle cannot be encouraged. u cant say its okay to encourage smoking and the same goes for gaining too much weight. people need to be taught that its not good for health to gain to much weight and to have balance.
