I like how transparent you are when companies send you products and that you publicly acknowledge your appreciation of that product -- like today, the Eley company. Also, I love how you publicly appreciate the many people you hire --- their integrity and the ways they guide you. I'm a single woman with two acres of gardens that I tend myself alone. All my watering is by hand. Because of you and because I've had some experience with dripping hoses, I purchased Dramm Quick Disconnects for all my connections then had my plumber install them. One of the best things I've done in my garden in the last 30 years! Thank you!!

Here in zone 4b, it's far too early. I may pot mine up as Erin from "The Impatient Gardener" does so I get a jumpstart on mine. I may have turn my heat back on for this next week. I can place the pots near the heat register.

Never before have I seen someone so happy about their bag of POOH....or would give POOH to her sister-in-law! Laura, you crack me up!
I have the Eley hose cart with 150 ft of Water Rite 1/2” hose. Love this set-up! Cart is easy to roll around to various hook ups on 2+ acre hilly property. The hose is light weight and I get great pressure with the 1/2” hose. Highly recommend the Eley cart.

Thanks! I just did a quick little search on those quick connects..I saw one for like $32 which isn't too bad if they're made very well. I don't know if it was the exact one Aaron was talking about.
@@altheac4021 Our property is hilly with two steep slopes, and I find it easy to pull the cart. It has large wheels and is easy to tilt as you maneuver it. It does not have wheel locks however it is easy to stabilize in position on hills given it’s balanced design. We have numerous gravel garden paths and several wood chip paths through our woods sections. I haven’t had a problem moving it to where it needs to be. I do use the light weight 1/2” Water Rite hose, which helps reduce the overall weight. Plus, those hoses are super easy to pull and rewind. Good luck!
You could make some kind of permanent little bag hanging on the side of the carts so you had the discs with the different holes on hand whenever you might need to change them....at least that's what I would do😅

And $132 later I have ordered 2 quick connects and the watering kit. The trust you guys illicit is 100%. I have yet to order anything you’ve given a good review on and be disappointed. Thank you for giving me the confidence to truly invest in my garden. ...so much money wasted on inferior products over the years, due to fear of ordering a spendy product. Next purchase will be Felco loppers!

Laura, just wanted to say that I’ve had this brand of hose reels for at least five years and I love them. I was looking for something that would last and was easy to wheel around. They have not disappointed! Now I’m going to get the hose guides after seeing your video.

I have had a wall mount Eley hose reel since 2007. Very well constructed, no loosening of any parts or rust at all, works just like the day we installed it. Highly recommend!
So many cool gadgets! I appreciate yall sharing these things with us and also how they actually work and feel. Now that is a really nifty faucet in the ground! So cool!!! Things like this make gardening all the more fun!
Laura have you thought about starting some of your Dahlia tubers in pots indoors to get a jump start on the growing season. Maybe you could do a comparison between the dahlias started indoors and the ones planted directly out later in early may? Just a thought.

I have the four wheel cart with the extra capacity extender. It is a beast and worth every penny. A few things I have noticed after using it for the past year: 1 I wish there was a hose guide; 2 the connector hose needs to be re-tightened to keep it from get drippy (probably user error!); 3 I wish there was horizontal bar across the back two cart legs to give me push off leverage over some really uneven surfaces- the loaded cart cat get pretty heavy & difficult to get moving. I’m eager to hear your follow up thoughts after using it for a season. Please keep us updated! Eley has some really nice products and I’m happy to see them on your channel.
I switched all of my watering tools, hoses and reels to Eley. I like they use such high quality materials. The hoses are 6 years old now and still never kink. It’s also nice that all of the tools have a large inside diameter so it really flows water well. Love Eley! I did notice you had a reel on the side of the barn a few years ago and took it down. Was that because it doesn’t have a guide? Thanks for the great content daily! You’re my favorite TH-cam channel by far. My family all say “hi Laura” when you come on and “bye Laura” at the end of your videos. Your smile and warm demeanor are infectious!

I'm planting dahlias for the first time this year. Also my first year for elephant ears too. I'm so excited but waiting until may
I, too, am a first timer. I watched several videos that recommend potting up elephant ears early and in large pots (it affects the plant size proportionally).
I may need to turn my heat on as it's going to be chilly this week. Then I can place the potted corm near the heat register.
@@Edu_Kate I've heard that too in videos. I'm planting mine in medium pots in my garage today and will hopefully have nice size elephant ears and dahlias this summer. I'm thinking of you as you plant and grow yours this summer!!

When I was a brand-new gardener, 30 years ago, I planted dahlias and even dug them up in the fall. After that I had no idea what I was doing and they dried up. Before Internet.

Cool to see new products and that underground hose hookup. That quick connect is about $24 each and that bigger hose reel is almost $400. Not cheap but if it last 10 plus years it might be worth it.

@@mollypitcher9380 Hi, Molly. Yes, I have used the plastic ones for years, used to replace the o-rings all the time. Couple of things I really like about the Eleys. 1, they have a 'grease' you can buy from them to lubricate the o-ring so it stays supple and doesn't leak. Also, They have full flow so you don't lose any water pressure like the plastic ones. They are the size of the hose inside (don't know how to explain it better). Also, I don't have the big shut off handle that Aaron was demonstrating. I have the smaller shut off, which I'm glad I do, because of the weight of the quick connects. In combo, they are still heavy, but I absolutely love them and need more! They are worth the price. Hope that helps.

The Eley in ground hose guide is really nice for mowing. I know my husband hates that I have a few of those near the grass and he has to remove them and then I have to remember to put them back. Usually the later doesn’t happen until I have my hoses over my plants.

Eley connectors and nozzles are worth the investment. You will spend that much replacing the junk sold in big box stores that never work well and will fail in a short time if you use them a lot. Well done to Eley for making quality material.

I always have issues with hitting plants and newly planted trees, I thought I was going to lose my peach tree due to the fact I never realize how the hose is disrespecting my garden at the hands of me dragging it through all the precious plants. I have done a lot of purchasing based on your experiences with all these products. I REALLY appreciate your candor. I know you haven’t vetted these items thoroughly yet but am going to give them a try and order some of ELEY’S products. I am impressed that Aaron thinks both the spray nozzle and quick connects are heavy - At least they aren’t plastic. “Planned obsolescence” of gardening tools gets under my skin!
I hate when my hoses leak at the faucet so am going to be ordering ELEY hoses, quick connects and spray nozzle. They say on the website they are for “Extreme-Duty” which I read as very durable. Fingers crossed as I know you haven’t really put them to the real life test yet, but I bet they work well.

We have had the eley hose carts for a couple of years and we love them. A true quality product.
I have that two way valve and love it. Aaron is so smart! You do actually have a 3-way and a timer on the center "always on" works wonderfully. You just need a spigot with far enough clearance from the ground. Actually, I have most all of those accessories and agree with Laura that while they are quality brass, as a woman, some of the nozzles are TOO HEAVY. But the brass quick connects hold up much longer than the plastic connects which for me makes them worth the investment. I've given the heavy nozzle to my brother. LOL!

I was so excited to see you demonstrate the Eley hose reels! They are by far the best out there. I've had one for 10 years and it works just as well today as the day we received it. The hose reel along with Eley's no-kink hose has made gardening and yard work much less frustrating. Thank you for the incredible time and effort you put into all of your videos! Those quick connectors look amazing. Love using a quick connector on my faucet. Have 2 hoses and it’s so easy to switch them without unscrewing. Game changer in my garden.

I have a fabric hose that I use in the backyard which I really really love. It is so light compared to normal hoses and it never kinks and when you have finished watering it flattens out as it drains so it stores in less space. I really, really love how light it is I have no problem hauling around 50’ of hose and it feels nice in your hand too. Regular hoses can be a workout hauling about but the fabric one is a breeze even when there’s water in it. I’ve had it for 3 years now and with regular use nothing has worn out and no leaks either so I am super pleased.
I have had my Elly hose reel for 4 years and love it. It is definitely made to last and a great purchase. Love their heavy quick connects.
