    Hey there Holly, thanks so much for this! I live in Korea and I was looking for more brands that top Ohora! Will definitely be buying zinipin! Great video and would love to see more zinipin looks 🌸

    Hi Holly. Hey You might have figured out a better way to remove these gel nails, but just in case I found a great way that doesn't damage your nails. Soak your nails in either coconut oil or olive oil mixed with a bit of acetone and then use a dental flosser and run it under your nail. You can also dip the flosser in the oil mixture if you feel it isn't releasing and wedge it back under the gel nail. I usually start at the cuticle since that seems to be where most of the gels loosen for me.

    Really appreciate your detailed comparisons - I'm new to this. Just want to add that in my limited experience, Dashing Diva's semi-cured have stretched well for me.
    I am glad to know I'm not the only one who gets my hair stuck, lol. I haven't tried the acetone hack yet because acetone and gel nails have killed my nails - hence this new thing. I find pushing into the edges help, and if needed a few days later - painting a simple (non-gel) top coat over the nail bed.
    These are so great - thank you!

    I'm not one for the brands' own primers, but I use a lot of DD and some MLM nail strips. I started to see some nail damage build up and tried DD's primer and wow, it makes a huge huge difference. You could try it!

    Removal is what worries me with Dashing Diva. I've seen so many stories about how difficult it can be and the damage they cause. Having super dry nails means that they will stick extremely well and be more difficult to remove. I already have a devil of a time with ohora, some strips are so stuck I have to pry hard just to get an opening to put the remover in there. But I'm ecstatic to see how well zinipin removed! I have some but have been hesitant for the same reason. Your video makes me feel much better about them. Maybe I'll make them my next set!

    When you said you didn't use primer, what kind of primer would you use? Especially with Ohora and Dashing Diva?

    I don't know how you made it through the week with those lifting and pulling out your hair. Ive had issues like that before and it was hard to deal with and to take the product off. Great video and take on each brand. Breathed a sigh of relief when you took them all off finally!

    I want to see the Frankenstein melding of the 2 skinny strips! I never use the tiny strips and find them annoying. I wish they had size sets, like for dainty hands (or children) and another one for people with wider nails. I have been using Ohora for many months (actually over a year now that I think about it) and there are SO many strips I can never use and they go to waste!

    • @crazyirish8358
      @crazyirish8358 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I melded a thumb strip and a pinkie strip on my big toe a few weeks back. I did NOT make sure they met up right. I totally just slapped the pinkie over the thumb strip! When I hit them with the lamp they melted together. Mostly. You could see the lump from the overlap and if you looked really close you could see a slim line at the edge of the pinkie nail where it had overlapped. I'm 99% sure if I had trimmed the pinkie nail to match with the thumb nail, instead of overlapping them, that you wouldn't have noticed that I had merged two different nails! And since they were on my big toe, well, no one was looking close enough to even notice the lump from the overlap, lol. I say give it a try on one nail and see how it goes. I think you'll be surprised how well they meld when you hit them with the lamp!

    My first and only experience with UUUUU was miserable. It looked so good when I applied but it cracked and lifted within a day. I removed it under a week which is rare for me

    I know it's not supposed to happen, but could you add a drop of nail glue to save those that have lifted?

    • @thatohoragirl5244
      @thatohoragirl5244  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, and I have done that. Part of the challenge is getting the nail glue sufficiently under the hard strip without causing additional lift. I haven't totally mastered that yet :)

    I live in Japan and except for UUUUU, I can get all of these brands locally in stores.
    I kinda expected better from EDGEU since it's also the most expensive!! I just bought a set from them; hopefully they don't lift after just 2 days. 😖

      I think Edgeu had trouble because it was the thinnest. I've realized I like them thick!

    What's the acetone trick everyone keeps referring to

    • @danim9300
      @danim9300 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Using acetone to thin out the edges of the nail strip along your cuticle line so that it’s less likely to snag. She talks about it in her ohora application video

    Can you re-cure the lifting nails?

    • @thatohoragirl5244
      @thatohoragirl5244  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't, but you could take them off and replace them with a new strip. For the sake of the experiment I didn't want to do that, but in the real world normal wear experience, that's what I would do. :)

  • @DelphineSerenity

    Damage is 100% caused by application or removal, not the product itself though. For Dashing Diva, it would need more time in the removal process to prevent the damage - so still a minus point if you're evaluating how long a mani would take, but it wouldn't be fair to say Dashing Diva causes more damage than other brands.

    • @thatohoragirl5244
      @thatohoragirl5244  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. The whole point of the video was to compare how they all perform under the same reasonable application methods and processes. Ohora also causes less damage if you use the primer. Dashing Diva would probably also come off easier with Magic Off than the homemade blend I used. Obviously it's possible to remove Dashing Diva without damage, just not in the amount of time that it takes to remove other brands.

I'm not sure why it's there, but I've had to pause and take a break more than once because it just gets to me, and yet I want to hear you and your opinions! Please consider removing it! I mean this with all the best heart and well wishes, too! You're beautiful and do this very well!

    expertise or being an expert in something is comparable ti mastering something and more often than not required 10k hours of active experience. or a very niche higher education certifying expertise so i’m confused why you keep saying expert level but not also sharing how you became an expert aka what school or how many years you’ve been honing your expert level experience over ____ years.

    • @thatohoragirl5244
      @thatohoragirl5244  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've been using semi-cured gel strips exclusively for just about two years, and have applied well over 100 sets of varying brands in that time on myself alone. The technology hasn't existed on the retail market for much longer than that so, when it comes to SCG, that's about the most knowledge and hands on experience you can get. If you check the About on my channel, you can see more info about me and my story.
      Regarding your comment that "expertise" or "being an expert" requires 10,000 hours of experience or a higher education certification or schooling... lol girl it's nail stickers.

    • @thatohoragirl5244
      @thatohoragirl5244  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There aren’t any semi-cured gel brands that are made in America, all SCGs on the market at this time are made in Korea or China.
