Definitely a thorough step by step video.. I appreciate it when I find them and that's not often. Keep up the great work!

Great video, your videos have helped me out a ton with fixing my dart. Some jackass dumped a ton of stop leak in my system and traded it in(im guessing). So im having to replace every piece of the cooling system. Also I think you can get a torque wrench in there, youd just need one of the small ones would be my guess.

Break the torque on the pully bolts before taking the belt off. Also, put a bungie cord on the belt and hook the other end on the hood somewhere. Keep a light tension on the belt and you won't have to reroute the belt through all the pullies. Put the bungie on before pulling back on the tensioner. Have all the tool and socket sizes ready to go, like a surgeon before an operation.

I wanted to comment that I had to use some vice grips to get the dowel pin out. Such a tight spot, but got it out.

Hello I noticed that the water pump you took off has a triangle front end and the replacement has a circle, does that matter?

Doesn't matter. The pulley bolted on the same way, so no issues with the shape.

@@FierceMotorworksgreat thanks . Do you remember what size tools did you use for the bolts? Also do I pull the tensioner towards me (right) or (left) towards the windshield? As for the dial pins, are they necessary to remove? Do you re install them on the new water pump or back on the block?

Awesome video! Roughly how many hours did this take you?

It took me most of an afternoon (from noticing the puddle on the driveway to finishing installation). By the time I was done, the dealership was closed so I had to wait until the next day to buy new coolant, but aside from that it took me about 4 hours.
Hopefully seeing this video with the tools you need and where everything is located can help save you some time! Happy wrenching

What if you don’t have a pump to put in coolants how would you do it without the vacuum

You can fill the cooling system without the vacuum pump. I would still recommend buying a coolant fill funnel to help with bleeding the air from the system.
There are other videos and tutorials for how to fill dodge dart coolant without tool.

Do i have to remove the dial pins from the block? Cant i just leave them in there and bolt on water pump? I thought they wer ment to be on the block to help the gasket line up.

Just make sure there is a spot for them on the new water pump. Don't want to try and tighten down if the pins are creating a gap

@@FierceMotorworkswill do. Do you know what's the torque specs for the wheel lug bolts on this car?

Does this work on the 2013?

The year doesn't matter, but the engine does. I think the 2.0L and 2.4L are very similar, but the 1.6L turbo engine might be different
