I love the way you teaching the Japanese language, English writing very clear even Japanese pronunciation slow easy for students understand good teacher thank you
I'm going to Japan next year for vacation and really needed to see this. Thank you for such a great video! I'm going to practice this role play a lot to have less anxiety about it. 💞💞💞
These phrases are super useful! I wish i had watched this before visiting Japan. I was asked if I need a plastic bag in convenient stores in Japan ALL THE TIME! But I did not understand at the first place and the cashier expressed an annoyed face to us. 😢 Please be kind to foreigners. We may look Asian but we are not Japanese.
Thank you very much for the video. I loved it. 🙏 Location 2:36 Plastic bag = reji bukuro. There's a super humongous station called Ikebukuro on the Yamanote Line. I wonder what it means. 🤔
I been living in Japan for a year and I never quite understand all the combini phrases until now, thank you very much! Next time make one for the soapland plz
thank you for your comment 💗I’m happy to know that you learned Konbini words 🏪✨ Not sure if I have a chance to go to soapland in my life but thank you for your request 😆🙏🌸✨
Finally! Some natural, daily Japanese!Thank you so much, this is extremely useful. I was trying to figure out the "...oazukari shimasu" expression for a long time. Keep up the good work!
Same here, I was always wondering what they were saying in shops, why it seemed fairly "long-winded" and why it wasn't just regular greetings but something more specific :-)
Fell in love with Japan and decided to learn the language, culture and will want to move to Japan someday. Your lessons are amazingly fun and easy to understand. I've recently taken up an intensive japanese course for total beginner. Unfortunately my sensei speaks very little English, the lesson was tough for me 😢 as I couldn't understand why I was memorising. I'd much prefer interactive like yours - hearing/speaking/seeing and role playing...keep up the great work!
So it looks like BEFORE sensei was even born,I was fortunate to be learning Romaji Japanese under the AOTS program at Tokyo! Kotoshi,mo 72 sai narimasu, wakakunai desu.
ohh i'm happy to hear that! I'll make these kind of videos more😆

Greetings from Mareshia! This is Chan. I find your presentation very enjoyable and effective! Good! Well done! Just out of curiosity, are you actually wearing a form of martial arts Gi (top) and Hakama ( bottom)? If so, they match you well and viewers get to remain more focused on learning real Japanese instead of being "distracted by colurful, fashionable attire" ha ha.. Just sharing,a really long way back (39 years ago) in Sept 1975, I attended a 5-weeks Romaji Nihongo Orientation at the Tokyo Kenshu Center, located between Sugamo and Komagome JNR train station! That is all for my humble level of Japanese.Looking forward to learn more from sensei. Makoto Arigatou Gozaimasu.
I know this is an old video, but I have a couple questions! 1. Regarding point cards: In my experience, I don't think I have come across these in the United States (at least, I don't know them to be called "point cards"). In the US, there are "rewards" programs for different stores, where you might get discounts/perks/gifts after achieving a certain level (getting a certain number of points with past purchases, for example).. I think I have received rewards/loyalty cards at grocery stores before- where the clerk just scans the card, and that would link my purchase to my account and allow me to get points/add those points to my account etc. Also- for these rewards programs, I personally never use a card; I might give the clerk my phone number or type it in at the register. Me not using a card is a personal preference; if I can carry less cards in my wallet and just give my phone number instead, I will do this. How exactly does a point card work in Japan? 2. If I am leaving a supermarket, and a worker says to me arigatougozaimasu mata okoshi kudasai masu - what would be appropriate for me to say/do in response? Would I say arigatougozaimasu in return, or goodbye?
1. Point card is like a membership card. You need to show it every time you buy sth at supermarket and they’ll give you points depending on how much you buy. Then if your points become 100 or so, you can use it as 100yen. You can get discount 💪🏻
Hello "Ninjapanese": I enjoy your videos, they are very helpful and productive. Do you have one related to a "Japanese drugstore or pharmacy", teaching about medicines, etc.? Dohmoo arigatoo gozaimasu.🙏
❤❤❤ I see SOOOO many Japanese language teachers that teach ROMANJI alongside HIRAGANA and KATAKANA. When I learned the Japanese characters I learned natively without ROMANJI. Because I’ve found during my research to learn properly that learning Romanji prevents the learner from PROPER pronunciation and nuances. NOWHERE in Japan nor in ANY Japanese language learning courses do one find ROMANJI. ROMANJI slows Progression ❤❤❤❤

how about phrases that happen at a half self-service register? i stopped by Moto-yawata's Kasumi Family Square in 2019. this year, i should bring an eco-bag. supermarkets in japan are rarely used by short-term tourists that stay only in city centres, its why the "japan is expensive" phrase is lobbed around too much.
