If you're not sure when to use の願いします (onigaishimasu) or ください (kudasai), の願いします is most typically used when asking for something that is likely to be more involved for the listener to do. It's typically translated as "Please do for me". ください is usually for simpler things the speaker wants to get. It is translated as "please give me".
I never comment on TH-cam, but I needed to say something to you. Thank you so much for this video. I have watched it so many times because this is the first video that the words really made sense to me. It allowed me to hear the words in a way that I could watch other videos and they made sense. You are a real gift! Thank you!
I travelled to Japan last year and I was able to use what I learned from your videos to speak a very limited amount of Japanese to various locals and while I'm sure my pronunciation was far from perfect, they all seemed very appreciative of my effort to use their language and it made for a much richer and enjoyable experience for me. So arigatou gozaimas sensei!
Arigatou gozaimasu so much Ninjapanese!! I am from Scotland and will be visiting Japan (Toyko) in August this year and never been to Japan before and I am desperate to learn some Japanese before my visit so I can immerse myself in all things Japan. This video is the first one I have found that is easy to follow and done in such a fun way with your personality. Thank you 🙂
From the bottom of my heart - thank you so very much!!!! I’ve watched this video several times a day and feel very happy about my progress -- which is due entirely to your great teaching methods!!!!

Is there a way to ask if theres enough space for four in a small restaurant like somewhere in omoide yokocho? For four. Im also interested in knowing how to ask if theres a minimum order in this spot, some have said its common that these places ask a minumum, like a beer and 1 food for each, or something.
Ninja Sensei is so excited for us to visit Japan, she forgot her closing! 💕💕💕 すこし is a word that got brought into English and changed slightly. A skosh means a very little bit of something! 😀

Hello Ninja Sensei, I have a question. I visited Japan last year - during my trip, I once used "Mada desu" when a waitress approached and asked if I was ready to order. After I said this, she seemed to either not fully understand what I had said - or I thought I might have accidentally been rude somehow... I didn't feel like I could really understand her reaction (maybe because I thought I knew what I was saying), but I think she seemed a little taken aback or something. Do you think there could have been a misunderstanding? Thank you --
Hmm there is no similar words to ‘Mada desu’ so I think she understood what you said …🤔 Maybe … she got confused because you spoke perfect Japanese 😎🌸?? Anyway, I’m so happy you did try to use what you have learned 🥰 Please try next time again !! 🇯🇵 That was just a rare case and I’m sure waitress will understand your Japanese next time!! ☺️🙌🙌🙌

What is the difference between onegai shimasu and kudasai? And when to use them?
Onegai shimasu = kindly request ,, kudasai = pls
Onegaishimasu =kindly request /please
・Mizu, onegaishimasu
: water , please.
・Shashin , onegaishimasu
: Picture, please.
Kudasai = please give me [sth]. (Polite)

It means please give me a picture.

I can try memorise and use it. But I won’t understand when they answer me back. 😂
Are these questions phrased in a gender-specific manner or are they general for both men and women?
Wakarimashita is I understood (past tense). I understand is wakarimasu.
Past tense works in japanese
Is it okay to Ku da sa i to say please in general.. in shops, e.g. mizu ku da sa i... noticed you used another phrase to say please.
Help me please❤ How can I say: I haven't see you for ages😢 ....Thans a lot for the lesson.
