Wait so this was the first time you've ever tried tteokbokki? Bruh, you have no business telling people what to eat in Korea 😂😂😂. With all due respect, n00bie.
Oh, you found Issac toast at the very beginnin !! I would say "Good choice👍", before I departed to England, I try those toast as well when probably ages ago. Ahh so missed that toast, so jealous you try Issac toast dude 😂
A note to myself, when visiting Korea to bring my own wooden chopsticks 🥢🥢. I love dining in Korean restaurants, all the included side dishes are so delish 😋.
My memory of food in Korea is one of my bf complaining constantly about those slippery metal chopsticks. He calls them knitting needles. Many trips to Asia later, my bf still refuses to use chopsticks and is still forking around.
In fact, Myeongdong is the best place to avoid street food if you are on a budget. It's a tourist destination, after all! It's all a bit more expensive there, than if you buy Korean street food where the Koreans are buying it. And if you are a Korean at Myeongdong, you can expect a decent discount on the advertised price.
The food you eat is made by hand, not by machine. Noodles were also made by hand by cutting the dough with a knife. Compared to machine-made noodles, they have a chewy texture.

hahaha that would be very wise! Yeah, Korean food is also up there with my favourites, especially for all the pickles and sides
😋👍@@hungrytoexplore
Always love the dumplings but it's the noodle soups that are really good, especially in winter. I often wish there were more of these where I live.
yeah those noodle soups are great, but for me it is often the side dishes which make it incredible in Korea
Great stuff, as always Joe. Korean food is delicious 😋
So good! I’m craving it now though
I’ve never been, but I love to visit Korean restaurants at home or wherever I’m in Asia. I also make a mean kimchi at home
Great video Joe! You always do such a great job describing the food you eat. I think all the Thai food prepared you for the tteokbokki...lol.
Haha yes! I can always handle spicy food now! South Korea is awesome though

Hahaha they are tricky but you have to persevere, you can’t resort to a fork haha!
Pretty funny, even us Koreans sometimes complain about it especially when picking up noodles lol.

명동은 관광객 등처먹는 곳입니다
명동에 있는 음식들은 다른 어디에나 다 있고, 반값도 안됩니다
sure! but every tourist seems to go there so I thought I would check it out and see if there actually was good food

yes! you are right! you cannot beat handmade noodles
The fishiness of tteokpokki is from the odeng soup. They use that instead of water
