Dear Marloes, You have done such an incredible job with this video, the home, the surroundings, the brocante places...just beautiful!
I am so happy I contacted you and you accepted to drive to an unknown part of France, till now, to meet me.
You have captured the beauty and soul of our Airbnb in such a magnificent way! Yes, I say, "our Airbnb" as without the vision, drive and craftsmanship of Guido, my husband, this place would have been just nothing. He is the brain behind all the works which took nearly two years... and thank you Marloes, for showcasing it for all of your viewers so beautifully. ❤ 🙏🏽

Everything about this house and village is beautiful! Your home is amazing and decorated so beautifully. I especially loved the walls and bordering you did. Truly unique. And Marloes was right, each piece was perfect, the rooms, the kitchenettes, you thought of everything. ❤❤❤

What a beautiful courtyard. I’ve spent about an hour in Richelieu, have often thought it would be nice to go back! The second brocante was lovely, those big jars (oil? Vinegar?) were great, and the urns, plates, a nice round basket I spotted….

Richelieu is such a stunning little walled village......and I've looked at several properties there! I'll need to go back and stay at one of Mary's sweet gites! Loved both of the antique shops......stunningly beautiful items in both but I do love a good poke around a jam packed shop! Chinon is a stunning little town as well and always great for a few days stay! I especially adore all the antique linen and cotton sheets.........so wonderful for sleeping! I usually buy several on each of my trips to France. I always meet friends at the cafe/bar very close to Mary's gite.....usually have a nice coffee and enjoy the big square in front of the church. Charming video! Cheers!

How lovely to read your comments and that you are familiar with this town. The cafe next door is indeed a meeting point for a lot of English and Dutch residents and visitors. I would be more than happy to welcome you in the hear future. 💫

Another attractive town, another lovely home. Such a comfortable, laid back way of life common in the outer regions of France. Interesting info points regarding Richelieu....depending on your family religion...he was either a grand protector or a real sob. Old European history is like that. No matter...another sweet tour by you...thank you, Marloes and Mary!

I laughed when I saw the enamel cream separator in the bric-a-brac shop. I looked over to my counter and saw the exact same thing I bought in a Paris flea market in the 1980s! It holds my wooden spoons. Thank you for your delightful videos. It is snowing here in Canada right now, so I am grateful to see you out and about in the spring weather.

Oh this was lovely. Thank you so much for this relaxing, beautiful video. Mary’s air b and b is so warm and inviting and I love how it’s so close to everything yet seems so secluded with its charming courtyard. Interesting about the air quality. Of course the brocante’s. I think the second one was probably my favorite ever ! I loved the painting in the first one of the hydrangeas. The beautiful crocks and pottery in the second one especially the two when you first walked in. Do you know what they would have been used for? The outdoor urns were sooo good. I could have spent hours there especially looking through the paintings. The fireplace burning was so cozy and welcoming and the dog, love seeing that sweet pup greeting you. Thank you so much. Thank you to Mary too! I felt like I was on vacation! The music was perfect!

Hi Marloes. Thank you for taking us along on this wonderful trip. Mary’s place was so incredibly pretty and calming. What a lovely place to stay❤. The first Brochante was so pretty. There was a painting on the wall with lilacs and hydrangeas that I would have bought immediately. The 2nd Brochante I could have spent Days there! ILoved the huge pottery jars with the small hole and handles too. I hope you find many more of these rentals to visit with us🥰🥰🥰😘

I love both places, I have been to both. The brocante is fab, I could spend all day in it, but unfortunately my husband is usually waiting in the car outside. I got a lovely opera top hat last time for 10 euro and a jug and sugar bowl to go with a teapot I bought. I hope to visit here next month. The park and town at Richelieu are beautiful and interesting.

Thank you for this fascinating video of your trip to the Loire Valley region, Marloes. I enjoyed learning the historical details to get a feeling for what life was all about there many many moons ago. Mary's two holiday homes are very unique and special! I loved the vibes! And, as always when you take us 'brocanting', I had a great time at the brocante shops you introduced us too. But finally, when I have dinner tonight I will thank Cardinal de Richelieu for his thoughtful creation of the table knife...

Wow! that one tree was impressive! What kind of tree was that? Her space has a very romantic vive in my opinion, it must be really nice & relaxing to stay there. I love the tall planters you remarked on & I also love looking at the framed mirrors like the really large one to the right when you entered the shop. The outdoor food markets seemed so interesting with all the fresh produce! Very delightful tour!

So very charming! I am really enjoying your videos and just discovered them. What a beautiful country. I love that France respects the old architecture and preserves them and the history...as well as all of Europe. The homes and villages are just lovely with so much charm. In one of the brocantes (sp), there was a domed wooden box, not big, that had was a white/grayish paint with a simple floral (brown and black) design that looks like folk art. That caught my eye immediately and would have bought that, if I were there. It was on top of a dresser with a marble top. What fun to go into those shops! Thank you. 😄

All these scenes are of long drawn out periods walking thru aisles of old stuff to view things no one wants! Really? I would have been more interested in historic sites, an historic church or two, and the landscape. How much stuff do you need? You live with a husband and two boys. I doubt they're interested in any of these "antique" (old) items you're obsessed with. More historic content and less commercialization, accumulation of more stuff. Less is more!

    • @FrenchCountryLife
      @FrenchCountryLife  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you for telling me what I should and shouldn’t do. That was just what I needed today as a grown woman!
The better thing to say I would believe, instead of telling me what I need and what my family wants, would be “I don’t enjoy these brocante visits very much and prefer to learn more about the history of the places and areas you visit”.
By the way: did you notice I didn’t buy anything? Could it maybe be that I enjoy looking at old things or wait: maybe I go there to FILM because many of my viewers enjoy these brocante visits?! 🧐 And have you noticed in my videos that we mostly buy salvaged things instead of new when we decorate our rentals and own home?
Maybe allow yourself two minutes to think before you say anything because I honestly don’t get your less is more point?
And… there are plenty of other TH-cam channels that offer the kind of content you’re looking for if you don’t like it here 😃
