- Day 1 of my ride across the UK was about covering distance quickly. The idea was to ride North to Scotland soon, so that I could travel there before the colder weather set in across the UK. With only a few weeks to go until winter, weather is a key factor in all of the route and destination decisions that I will be making on this trip. Watch the video to know more.

What a fascinating perspective of the UK infrastructure. My Suzuki is over twice the capacity of your Honda and I avoid the motorways as much as possible because they are boring, but as a method of getting from place to place as quickly as possible they do do the job. If you are going to be island hooping in Scotland, have a little buzz around Mull and say 'hello' from me, that is where my family are from and where I go back to every couple of years. Also, in the opposite direction to the islands are the Cairngorms. Try to spend a day on the snow roads, they are amazing and contain the two highest road passes in Britain.
I've been watching your videos on and off for most of this year and they're always so interesting - your perspective on our country is definitely great, as most of us loathe motorways and services but the infrastructure is definitely a good one for covering ground. If you want any help getting around Scotland, sure there is plenty of us that can help out! This country and the land is stunning - you'll love it.

It is soooo refreshing seeing through your eyes, the things we take for granted. enjoy your ride in bonnie scotland!
Firstly, I am super happy the first installment of your travel is up, though the next would take time, Its gives us a taste of what's to come.
'Services' are an amazing thing. For a person travelling from a place like India where the roads would keep you alert (unless you are super tired) because you know anything can pop up on the road, person, animal, giant pothole, you never know. So your mind, though it may zone out, it is subconsciously conscious (if that makes any sense at all). But on the Motorway, from my personal experience, you mind will zone out much easily, moreso if you are driving a 4 wheelers and at night. Everyone follows lane discipline, they give way, steering requires very little input and you are set on cruise control, there is very little to do and at night, you don't get much to see either. So taking a break every hour/two hours would be recommended.
On a bike, during the day, things are very different (though I have never got a chance to ride a motorcycle there). I assume the chill will keep you awake and the scenery will keep you hooked. Lake district inner roads are beautiful as you will find out soon enough, but the Motorway from London to Edinburgh was awesome. Hopefully next time will try and see if I can hire a motorcycle and explore a bit.

Filling at service stations on the motorway is not generally a good idea, though. Maybe get off the motorway into a small town and you'll find fuel at much less expensive prices. Lovely video, as always :)

I used to live in the UK. Lovely country, specially Scotland. I yearn to get back there and the next time will surely be on a motorcycle. I always wanted to ride through Scotlan, Wales, etc.

I have an upcoming solo ride from Maharashtra to South India on my Xpulse 200 and already have butterflies in my stomach thinking about safety, riding hazards, lane discipline etc. I enjoy riding at an easy speed, keeping distance, but you and I know, that many of our countryfolks don't get that. Not sure what the rest of your vlogs are like, but this is just the second one I've seen and enjoyed them very much. I watch a lot of vloggers explore other places, but not so many in my own country and on the same bike as I have. Welcome, friend and I hope we are kind to you. Believe it or not the quickest route with a smaller bike is via the A1 M and A 68 with most traffic doing around 60 mph a small bike is just as fast as a car, the only problem is the fuel stops on smaller bikes need to be planned. I used a Honda Super Cub 125 in June and got around 90 miles before filling each time but the tank is only 3.6 litres so the most I paid was £6 ( fuel was just about £2 a litre in June 2022). I did 1720 miles in a week including the NC500 with Applecross pass so do not be put off by the size of your bike it is a challenge but can be fun too.

Interesting perspective on UK motorways, most motorcyclists avoid them like the plague as they are so boring and the fuel is always the most expensive. Ok for cars though. You may be impressed by UK roads, but I and many others would love to ride in India on unsurfaced mountain passes, we don't have anything like that.

very cool. I just got back from Portugal, and i know what you mean about a tourist trying to figure out fuel/petrol/service stations. And in Portugal, the term for Diesel and Gas are sort of similar. If I hadn't caught another TH-camr's blunder (RTW Paul maybe), i probably would have killed my rental car. I'm a noob on a bike, and not very comfortable on the road (at little more home in the dirt), and don't think i'd have the courage to get on a highway/motorway. Safe travels
